I've been reading away all along, but this is my first SRC. I spent a lot of time moving books around so that I didn't waste a single book that I read, so I thought it would be easier on me and the moderators if I waited until I was close enough to the end that all my books were set.

I'm on the home stretch now (7 to go), although I didn't realize it would take the time that I would usually devote to 2 or 3 books to input all my tasks!

Dee (austhokie) | 8951 comments lol, i know - its great - I was saying I love it when I see new people participate and finish - I remember the first one I finished ;)

ETA - time to post - that is why I post as I go - i nominally try to post ever 100 points or so, so it doesn't take forever towards the end

message 1483: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments I would be interested to find out what the moderators think of this topic. I would suspect that it is easier on them to have people post as they go rather than wait until the end when they are working on both the end of one season and the start of the next. I don't know that for a fact though.

None of us want to do anything to make the moderators jobs harder than they already are, right?

Well, you'll notice that we generally post as we go along, every 3 or 4 tasks or so.............

and, anyone who participated in the winter challenge will probably recall that GR went down for awhile the last night of the challenge!

I had originally posted this task in message 704. Now I'd like to move the second book (Option 5: The Subtle Knife) from this task to task 50 (see below).

Instead I'd like to use Das Haus vom Nikolaus by Volker Backert for task 30.8, Option 5 (It's a library book).

50.1 Cindy AL's Task: North to Alaska

Option 2 (genre: Mystery): Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris (442 users shelved this as Mystery)

Option 3 (blue cover): I listened to the German audiobook of The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman, which has a blue cover: Das magische Messer by Philip Pullman .

Option 5 (my favorite genre: Fantasy; this has been shelved by more than 6000 people as Fantasy): A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin (with 1009 pages, this book is worth 3 Big Book tickets)
