A Beautiful Blue Death by Charles Finch
I rolled a 3 and one of the options for that number was that the book could be set in the winter. A Beautiful Blue Death is set in the winter. In the GoodReads description, it describes our main character as "trudging through the snow." He was always complaining about how cold it was and that his shoes were not good enough to keep out the cold. And at the end of the book, he visits his brother's house at Christmas. The whole story takes place in less than a month.
