Hello Crystal,
Thanks for your question.

Sometimes lines come to me fully formed. This was one of them. When I was writing that scene, I imagined Gabriel partially teasing Julia. But he respects her innocence and is honoured by her sharing it with him, of all people.

I think the Professor is the only person who could get away with saying the things he says …

Hello Katherine.
Thanks for the question.

I've always been taken with the poetic books in the Hebrew Bible - the book of Job, Song of Songs, and Ecclesiastes, for example.

In terms of narrative, I've always liked the Gospel according to St. John.

April To my fellow Canadian ;) I just wanted to say that like everyone else, I was eagerly awaiting the release of Gabriel`s Redemption and when I finally got it, I was afraid to read it and I still haven`t :D
The reason for this is because I am going to cry once I finish this BEAUTIFUL, HEART WARMING, LITERAL ALL CONSUMING LOVE STORY because I want to just keep reading them forever!!!! Ok ok, I may be going overboard here, but seriously, I really hating reading when I was younger, but once I discovered Fan Fiction, I fell in love with reading. THEN I read the original of this story and I have to tell you, this is THE ONLY story that I`ve read that has made me cry. I cried because of the struggles that they both went through, but thru it all, their love and compassion that they have for one another was just so consuming.
Probably my favorite story that I have ever read to date.
I am a lover of romance, so I am very picky with what I read.
Anyhoo, I WILL read it cause I`d be an idiot not too and I just wanted to also say that I cannot wait for your next novel!!!!!
All the best to you and your family; here`s hoping that you have a fantastic 2014 ;)

Hello Karlaa. Thanks for your note.
I talk about the myth of the Monster and the Maiden - but I don't have in mind a particular source for that myth. It appears in various mythologies, including the story of Cupid and Psyche.

I can't remember which interview you're referring to because I mentioned the myth in more than one. However, a group of readers put together a database of interviews with me and the links can be found here: http://www.argyleempire.com/2013/03/h...

I hope this helps and best of luck on your Bachelor's thesis. Let me know how it goes. SR

message 147: by Karla

Karla V. H. Hi SR,

I've been reminding you an interview I read a while. You talk about because "Gabriel's Inferno" was originally a fan fic of "Twilight". In the interview he says that "Twilight" is about the myth of the beast and the Maiden (I think), and you decided to take that myth to "real life" with Julia and Gabriel.

I want to say that I love this interview and I use it for my final Bachelor work. It's about the myth of the beast and the Maiden (was just preliminary ideas).

If you could help me find the link to the interview. I read so many I can not remember where exactly I saw. You would help me too for my final project.

If you don't remember (I think you has given many interviews that you may not do), don't worry, i keep looking.

Again I say that I am a big fan of Gabriel and I look forward on December 3.

:) x

Hello Cheryl,
Thanks for your kind words.
Penguin Australia controls the rights to my works in Oz/NZ so I'm afraid the question of audiobooks is up to them. I haven't heard from them on the subject, so it's possible something is in the works.
It might also be good for them to hear from a reader (or two?) who is interested in the audiobooks in Oz.
Sorry about that. If I hear anything, I'll post about it for sure.

The other vendor who sells my work in audio format (both download & CD) is this one: http://www.recordedbooks.com/index.cf...

But I'm not sure if they will ship to Australia ...

Thanks for writing to me and thanks for reading,
SR
