Thanks for the prompt friend request so I could check out your interesting and full shelves. I hope you find something you like.

The Highs
1st Place:

The Corset Diaries by Katie MacAlister - you've read and enjoyed some of her other books. This one is set on a reality TV show showing what it was like to live in renaissance times. Laugh out loud funny.

The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz - great start to a series. Izzy and her family are PI's and they forget to leave the job behind in their personal lives. Izzy is fun to read about and watch her grow through the series.

Baby Names:
This was a hard category for me as you had already read a bunch of books with names I liked. So, I'm down to Destiny Kills by Keri Arthur. Has one of the most intriguing opening paragraphs and a good story to follow.

New Blood
Aaaaah - you haven't read two of my favorite authors and that should be remedied immediately.
Jayne Ann Krentz also writes as Amanda Quick (historicals) and Jayne Castle (paranormal). Really just about anything by her I'd recommend, but since this will be the only chance for a historical I'll go with the start of the Arcane Society series - Second Sight.

Jennifer Crusie has great quirky characters and loads of humor. Her most popular is probably Bet Me, which I just finished re-reading again yesterday.

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed:

Summer Knight by Jim Butcher. I read this one years after reading Storm Front (which I didn't really like) and loved it and continued to read the whole series. It is still one of my favorites from the series.

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed:

You seem to love Ilona Andrews' work, so what's keeping you from reading Bayou Moon?

Rotating Paddocks:
I've got a mystery here with just a touch of paranormal. Truly, Madly by Heather Webber - Lucy's and her family and friends are great to read about. And it is nice to see Lucy realize her gift can be useful.

Stud
I'm not big on classics or steamy, so I'm going with my own definition of classic. J.D. Robb's Eve Dallas series is over 30 books now so it must be well-loved. Fall in love with Roarke like the rest of us by giving Naked in Death a whirl.

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones was made into an anime movie (although really changed the plot). A great YA fantasy story about the oldest daughter realizing she can set her own path.

Spread the Love - Buddy reads
Poddy Calf:

I'm planning to read Hounded by Kevin Hearne in August and would love for you to join me. It clocks in at just under 300 pages which makes it short in my book.

Breeding Stock
We've both got The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons on our TBR. Let's see what Ysolde and Baltic are up to this time.

The Corset Diaries by Katie MacAlister The Spellman Files (The Spellmans, #1) by Lisa Lutz Destiny Kills (Myth and Magic, #1) by Keri Arthur Second Sight (Arcane Society, # 1) by Amanda Quick Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Summer Knight (The Dresden Files, #4) by Jim Butcher Bayou Moon (The Edge, #2) by Ilona Andrews Truly, Madly (Lucy Valentine, #1) by Heather Webber Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb Howl's Moving Castle (Castle, #1) by Diana Wynne Jones Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons (Light Dragons, #2) by Katie MacAlister

Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments Thank you very much for the wonderful picks, Diane! I'm going to read The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons. I'll try to get my hands on Bayou Moon too. I'll definitely be adding a few of your recommendations to my TBR. Again, thank you!

Debbie,

Thanks for the great picks. I'm leaning towards either Soulless or The Fairy Tale Detectives. Since I've never done a buddy read, let's go for The Fairy Tale Detectives this time.

BTW, I will eventually read River Marked, I'm just waiting for it to hit in PB.

Alexis (LexaReads) | 375 comments Hey Megan I've had a lot of fun going through your shelves. We have completely different tastes in books, (you seem to like your paranormal/urban fantasy butt kicking heros and heroines, while I like those stories that are so sweet your teeth want to rot out), but hopefully I've changed it up enough to find things that will interest you and be outside your typical genre. Let me know if you don't see anything and I will try this again.

1. Naked in Death by J.D. Robb is in your to read and I love this series! You definitely need to give it a try!
2. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. I'm all about the old fashioned girly names and I think the name Clara is gorgeous. I haven't read this yet, but it is sitting around so if you read it let me know how you enjoy it!
3. Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble by H.P. Mallory. I noticed that you enjoy Urban Fantasy and this author is a great example of it. I have read and enjoyed all of her books, but this series in particular is my favorite.

4. Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. You've read the first two and this is a new release that you haven't had a chance to read yet! I've really enjoyed this series.

5. Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich. You seem to love her Stephanie Plum series, but haven't read any of her other books. This is the first in a brand new series. It's got the humor in Stephanie Plum, but it's also a great Urban Fantasy series.
6. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. You have read a few YA books, but mostly adult romance. This series will not fail you. I read the entire series in two days because I could not put it down these books are wonderful!
7. The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. This book was crazy popular NY Times best seller list a couple years ago. I just read it and I know why now. This is an amazing, unique book! It's not a romance, but it is such a great story about a dog reflecting back on his life while on his death bed. I know it sounds weird, but I couldn't put it down.

8. Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. I've read this before, but I'd love to read it again with you because it's one of my favorites by Dessen. It's not very short, but it's a YA so it's a quick read.
9. Rescue Me by Christy Reece. This series is extremely highly rated and I've been wanting to try it for awhile so please let me know if you are interested in reading it with me!

~Megan~ (megadee) Mountain Kat, Thanks for amazing recommendations!! I am going to commit to the LMR book because I have been wanting to read that one for awhile, but I'm seriously crunching on several of the others. Thanks for the info about the audiobooks....I love them and am definitely gonig to try and find one or two of those for this month!

Tugce Nida, I'll have your picks in the morning!

Vi | 2794 comments Heather wrote: "Was The Winter Sea an excellent read? "

Hi Heather, yep, it was an excellent read to me. I was in the mood for a good romantic book and this really did it. The other book I loved as much as this by the same author is Mariana. I read Mariana before The Winter Sea, so I sort of love Mariana more. I'd offer to read it with you but I'm sort of trying to minimize my rereads (which I do a looooot). You should give it a chance.

Shell | 2 comments For AlbertaJean:

We have similar tastes in reading. It was a pleasure to look through your lists. I found several I added to my own. :)

The Highs
1st Place - rated 5 stars.
Naked in Death by J.D. Robb Great beginning to a well received series!
Glass Houses by Rachel Caine* I couldn't put this book down! The banter among the characters is very witty. I've read through book four and can't wait to dive into the rest of the series.

Baby Names - Naming your prize cattle I went with unusual or memorable names.
Devil's Bride by Stephanie Laurens (Male: Devil & Female Honoria) For Cynster Men, Family is critical, which I like in a romance novel.
Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop (Female: Jaenelle & Male Saetan & Daemon) This book made me laugh, cry, and gasp a LOT. EXCELLENT beginning to a WONDERFUL series!
Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh (Male: Callan & Female Merinus) What can I say? Lora Leigh writes some HOT novels.

New Blood - Artificial insemination time: recommend a new to them author
Magic Bites by Illona Andrews Just finished this recently and LOVED it! I've got the next 2 set to read soon.
The Duke And I by Julia Quinn I've finished through book 2 in this series. Several people have recommended it to me. It's quirky and touching.

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed - Let's clean them up
Rode Hard, Put Up Wet by Lorelei James* I haven't gotten this far in the series yet, but it looks really good.
Heat Stroke by Rachel Caine* I want to read this one. I loved David in the first one!

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed - the highlight of any beast's day: recommend a book from an author that they rate highly.
Wicked Enchantment by Anna Bast* I recently picked up this book @ Borders Going out of Business Sale.
Surviving Demon Island by Jaci Burton You seem to like a Jaci Burton as an author. This one looks intriguing

Rotating Paddocks - mustering the cattle to new pasture
Mystery: Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye by Victoria Laurie Your profile says you like paranormals. This is a good blend of both Paranormal and Mystery.
“Chick-Lit”: Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James I read this in one sitting. I couldn't stop reading. It was hilariously sweet!

Stud - Putting the bull in the paddock, and let's face it, he's popular
Erotica: Sweet Surrender by Maya Banks I needed a cold shower after this one. Oh my!
Classic: The Princess Bride by William Goldman The book is better than the movie if possible! :)

Spread the Love ~ Buddy reads I would be glad to read any of these with you, just let me know.
Poddy Calf - he/she's been abandoned by mother (what a cow!) and in need of care and attention
Shadowfae by Erica Hayes (277 pgs)*
Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn (259 pgs)

Breeding Stock - you're looking to improve the herd and need to select the best line
Relentless by Lauren Dane* The first one was HOT, but I didn't like one of the male leads. This one looks just as HOT without the abrasiveness of the character from the first novel.
Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent*

*Taken from AlbertaJean’s TBR List

Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine Devil's Bride (Cynster, #1) by Stephanie Laurens Daughter of the Blood (The Black Jewels, #1) by Anne Bishop Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) (Feline Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews The Duke And I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn Rode Hard, Put Up Wet (Rough Riders, #2) by Lorelei James Heat Stroke (Weather Warden, #2) by Rachel Caine Wicked Enchantment (Dark Magick, #1) by Anya Bast Surviving Demon Island (Demon Hunters, #1) by Jaci Burton Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mystery, #1) by Victoria Laurie Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James Sweet Surrender (Sweet, #1) by Maya Banks The Princess Bride by William Goldman Shadowfae (The Shadowfae Chronicles, #1) by Erica Hayes Kitty and the Midnight Hour (Kitty Norville, #1) by Carrie Vaughn Relentless (Federation Chronicles, #2) by Lauren Dane Blood Bound (Unbound) by Rachel Vincent

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hi Lexi!

So, this is the first time in a long time that I'm not entirely confident with my picks because we don't have a whole lot of books in common. I've tried my best to pick books I think you'd enjoy, but only a few are actually from your TBR. I hope you find something you'll like:)

The Highs
1st Place ~ Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I don't give out a lot of 5 star ratings, but Outlander is one of my all time favorite books. In fact I recommend it just about every month. I consider it a Historical novel first and Romance second, with a little fantasy twist. If the size or genre of Outlander is not to your liking give Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden a try. Another one of my all time faves and one I recommend on a regular basis.
Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
Baby Names ~ First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones, I finished this book and loved every minute of it. How can you go wrong with a fiesty, kick-ass heroine named Charley Davidson.
First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones
New Blood ~ Susan Elizabeth Phillips, If you like Contemporary Romance that you have to read SEP. I'd suggest you'd start with It Had to Be You the first of the Chicago Stars series.
It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
The Low
Rats & Mice in the Stud Shed ~ Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs, Okay, stay with me here. Like you, I gave Moon Called 3 stars; it was just alright and I put Blood Bound on my TBR, but I really didn't think I'd ever read it. But then a couple months ago it was recommended to me in this challenge and read it. After that I fell in love and devoured the series. So I'm giving you a little push to go on with the series as well. If you'd like a second choice Start Me Up by Victoria Dahl is a great follow up in the Tumble Creek series.
Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs Start Me Up (Tumble Creek, #2) by Victoria Dahl

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed ~ Destined for an Early Grave...uh, nuf said.
Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost
Rotating Paddocks I didn't see any Historical Romance on your shelves and a good author to start with is Lisa Kleypas. Secrets of a Summer Night or Then Came You are two very good choices.
Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas Then Came You (Gamblers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas
Stud ~ Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward, If you liked Dark Lover you'll love book #2. There's not much sexier than BDB.
Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward

Spread The Love
Poddy Calf ~ Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis, I don't know about short but, who doesn't need love. I already plan on reading this for another challenge, so if you'd like to read it together just let me know.
Animal Magnetism (Animal, #1) by Jill Shalvis
Breeding Stock ~ The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I've been wanting to read this novel for a while now and may do it on audio. Unfortunately I don't think I'll get to it this month.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett

I hope you find something you like. Happy Reading!

Tuğçe Gökırmak (tugcenidasevin) Daffodil,

I am very sorry but fell asleep with my notebook next to me in the bed so here they are first thing in the morning!

The Highs
1st Place
- One Day by David Nicholls - I have read this book and I was very effected and every since when I have a chance I recommend the book, and the movie will be on by the end of the month so maybe you would like to try it before that.

A Game of Thrones - by George R.R. Martin - I noticed you like reading fantasy and haven't read this one.

Baby Names - Call Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - It might not be a spesific name Meg Koranda but I loved her and I loved their chemistry with Ted Beaudine, it was my first SEP and enjoyed it very much.

New Blood - By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept by Paulo Coelho - Not every book by him is great but this one I found it very inspirational (that will be your Rotating Paddocks - new genre)

The Low
Rats & Mice in the Stud Shed
- No Place to Run by Maya Banks - You have read the first book in this series in March and seemed to enjoyed it so maybe it is time to proceed?

Rotating Paddocks - I haven't noticed any inspirational reads in your shelves, although I must admit it is a huge read list, I might have just missed it. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom - this was a PIFM rec a few months ago and I really enjoyed it.

Stud - Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - it is my favourite classic and a very good romance book.
Dark Lover by J.R. Ward - You haven't started the BDB yet? Well I think it is time already.

Spread The Love
Poddy Calf
- Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas - It is short and who doesn't need love so probably it might be a right choice.
Caught Running - Madeleine Urban - I have seen this one a while ago and would want to read it together.

Breeding Stock - The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook - I have been hearing nothing but good things about it so we might give it a try.
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver - Want to try this one?

Hope you can find something you enjoy, if not please let me know!

message 165: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Hi Suzanne,
I nearly fainted when I saw the number of books in your TBR alone. My browser crashed twice (damn you Firefox) when I tried to see all of them at once. Even so, I persevered to find your picks (and increase my TBR). I’ve tried to recommend books that are on your TBR for two reasons. One, a lot of the authors I know are in your TBR and two; you might want to reduce your TBR. I also hope that since the TBR is so large, you could have missed a book or two so that the books I recommend might seem new to you. I tried so very hard to control myself but I don’t think it worked.

The Highs

Book That I Rated 5 Stars:
I don’t hand out 5 stars much. They only go to the best of the best books with high re-read capability.

1. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin – I kept putting this off due to the page number but when I finally read this, I had a facepalm moment – how could I have put off such an awesome book? If you like politics, fantasy and a jolly good ride, then you should pick this up.
2. Beautiful Disaster by Laura Spinella – Dee recommended this book to me. I picked up this book with high expectation and I’m very happy to say it didn’t disappoint me. I really loved this book. The lead characters are not likable all the time yet you end up falling for them.
3. Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey – It’s a fantasy book with excellent world-building. Some of the settings might be a bit strange but on the whole, it delivers. I’m reading the next book - Kushiel's Chosen and I’m falling in love all over again. I know it has been recommended to you in one of the earlier PIFM but I can’t help recommending it again.

Baby Names - H/h has a name that I love:

4. Stormwalker by Allyson James – I so like the author’s first name – Allyson and also the herione’s full name – Janet Begay. Janet by itself doesn’t seem that special but the full name somehow makes it unique.
5. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier – I love the old Irish names. The pronunciation and the spelling are not the same. The heroine in this book has a very unique name – Sorcha. It is pronounced Sorra. I wish my name was like that.
6. The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley – I love both the author and the heroine’s name – Sophie. Of course, to me, it’s a toss-up between Sophia and Sophie. I still haven’t decided which is better.

New Blood - New to them author:

7. Hounded by Kevin Hearne – This is a new-to-me author as well. But I like the premise, the Irish setting and the fact that it is a pure fantasy. I’m definitely going to be reading this soon.
8. The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner – I’ve heard so much great things about this series that I bought all the books in the series off the internet. But I still haven’t managed to read any one of them. Again, a pure fantasy.
9. Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson – I love, love this series. It’s an epic fantasy romance that spans 5 books. I’ve read the series twice and I’m still in love.

The Low

Rats and Mice in the stud shed - Next In Series: .

10. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins – Since you’ve finished the first two books, you must finish this book. I can’t believe you haven’t read the last book yet to know the ending.
11. Pale Demon by Kim Harrison – You’ve finished the first 8 books in the series. Why not continue the series?
12. Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh – This is one of my favourite series. I know the first book was just ok for you but you should give the series a chance and read the next book.

The Daily Routine

Daily Feed - Book from an author that you rate highly:

This is like an extension of the previous category. I know you have a lot of on-going series so I just wanted to give you a nudge to continue the next book.
13. Conspiracy in Death by J.D. Robb
14. The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
15. Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

Rotating Paddocks – Outside your Genre:

16. Butterfly Swords by Jeannie Lin – This is a historical novel set in the Chinese history. The Chinese history bits were fascinating and I ended up liking the book.
17. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah – This is a women’s fiction. I haven’t read this book or the author but I plan to do soon.
18. The Shadow and the Star by Laura Kinsale – This is my favourite historical novel from Laura Kinsale. It’s an intense, emotional ride and I guarantee you will fall in love with the H/h.

Stud - Well-loved classic:

19, 20. Dune by Frank Herbert or I, Robot – Two classic science-fiction novels. Give any one of them a try.
21. The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle – I saw this on your TBR and couldn’t believe that you haven’t read this book. This was my first Holmes book that I read.

Spread the Love ~ Buddy reads

Poddy Calf - short book to read where the H/h needs love:

Both the following books are not short by any means but compared to the door stoppers I’ve recommended earlier, they are short indeed.
22. Warrior by Zoe Archer – I know this is not short but the H/h are a perfect match. I’d be happy to do a reread with you.
23. After the Night by Linda Howard – This is one of my favourite Linda Howard book. I loved the protagonists and this book so fits this category.

Breeding Stock – Keeper Books:

I haven’t read the following two books but they are rated very highly by my friends. I’m hoping to read them next month.
24. Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop
25. Doomsday Book by Connie Willis

Whew, that’s it from me. I still have some more to recommend but figured I’d better stop here. I hope you like your picks but if not, let me know. I’d be happy to re-pick.

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin Beautiful Disaster by Laura Spinella Kushiel's Dart (Kushiel's Legacy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Stormwalker (Stormwalker, #1) by Allyson James Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1) by Megan Whalen Turner Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul, #1) by C.L. Fran!

Lol! You'd think I'd joined the wrong group, reading all the Mystery and thrillers that I do! But the reason I joined Romance Readers was to start reading more romance and get a few recommendations along the way! I am a sucker for a love story and a hopeless romantic believe it or not!!......
I LOVE the awesome recs you have picked for me:-) Thank you so much!
A few have stuck out at me straight away...Darkfever, When Beauty Tamed the Beast, Linger, Mockingjay,Flowers in the Attic, To Kill a Mockingbird... I think they will al make my TBR list and I will see how many I can get thru! Not because I want to over acheive but because I just want to read them all and no time like the present!
BUDDY READ I would love to buddy read with you! I have Beastly idling on my kindle if you would like to read this with me? But I love the sound of Attachments too! Let me know what you would like to do... Thanks so very much again I'm off to order some books from the library!! x x

I hope you'll find something here.I suspect it will be a huuuuge post. Happy reading!

The Highs
1st Place
# Paradise by Judith McNaught - I saw that you had this book on your TBR shelf and I have to say that this is a great love story and you'll want to keep re-reading it.

Baby Names
# Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh - The heroine's name is Sophia ,I just love both the name and the character and after you've read 7 books of this series, trust me the 8th one is a TOTAL keeper.
# Here Kitty, Kitty! by Shelly Laurenston - Angelina Santiago, the heroine, is amazingly unique. This book has an hilarious sense of humour.

New Blood
# Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews - I love Kate and you'll love her too that is if you like cynical ,sarcastic and kick -ass heroines.
# The Iron King by Julie Kagawa - I never thought that a YA fey series would keep me so addicted and on-edge. Give it a try!

Paradise by Judith McNaught Bonds of Justice (Psy-Changeling, #8) by Nalini Singh Here Kitty, Kitty! (Magnus Pack, #3) by Shelly Laurenston Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed
# This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
# Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles
I saw that you've been reading these series and that you've been giving them high ratings so here they are! Enjoy them!

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed
# Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole - You've read some books of the IAD series, I usually give them a maximum 4* but this one was so good that I had to give it a 5*. Another surprisingly great read.

Rotating Paddocks
# The Lion's Lady by Julie Garwood - This is an historical without the usual spineless, annoying heroine. This one grew up in an indian tribe in America *grin*
# Spider's Bite or Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep -The first book features an assassin that cooks in her free time. I picked it on a whim and it was totally worth it! Now,the second book ressembles the Vampire Academy series without the vamp part. Here you have the Mythos Academy with Valkyries,Spartans,Romans,Ninjas and Amazons.Lovely, isn't it? It's actually a very good YA book.

Stud
# Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh - This a hot,hot read.
# Dark Prince by Christine Feehan - This is a classic vampire book, only that the vampires are called Carpathians.

This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost Chain Reaction (Perfect Chemistry, #3) by Simone Elkeles Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark, #10) by Kresley Cole The Lion's Lady by Julie Garwood Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) (Feline Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh Dark Prince (Carpathians, #1) by Christine Feehan

Poddy Calf
# Jacob by Jacquelyn Frank - I think this guy needs love. Hopefully, Isabella will help him in this matter.

Breeding Stock
# Hounded by Kevin Hearne - It has a male lead. I haven't read a series with a male lead in a while. It should be interesting!

Jacob (Nightwalkers, #1) by Jacquelyn FrankHounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne

Yay!! So glad you liked the recs Caroline. I would love to buddy read either Beastly or Attachments or both. If you can find Attachments could we read that first? Rainbow Rowell is hopefully going to be a part of the Ask An Author, Win A Book thread in August and I'm so curious to read her book. I am next on the waiting list and hopefully will get it soon. It looks great. If you can't get a hold of it, let's read Beastly, looks good and I've also had it hanging around on my kindle for awhile.

Hey, Lady Allison St Vincent!

The Highs
1st Place - The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant; I noticed that you have a lot of regency era books on your TBR and not much of other historical fiction so this is a risky rec. I love this book, I really did. It's set in Florence in it's dirty era – courtesans, naguthy priests, etc. and follows life of Alessandra. She wants to paint, she wants to learn, things women shouldn't do in her time. And then she falls for family's painter but her parents arrange her a marriage and so she gets stuck with life she didn't want.

Baby Names - The Gift by Julie Garwood, names of two main characters are Sara and Nathan. I loved Garwood's style of writing, it's so breezy and simple and I love her sense of humor (even my mom loves to read her books and I swear I hear her laughin through 5 closed doors). It's a good regency book, a quick read to. And then there's Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella, main characters name is Lara (oops, the similarity with Sara, can't help it). You only have Confessions of a Shopaholic on your TBR pile from Kinsella, but I liked this book quite a lot. Perhaps it's a typical chick lit book, but it made me laugh and it's kind of witty.

New Blood - Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton, because of this book I started reading PNR romance and YA books again. I have it on my computer and I couldn't stop reading it, so for two days my eyes were all read from staring at the screen, but it was worth it. And one more, Dead End Dating by Kimberly Raye. I read this in one afternoon a few days back, so it's a quick read. It's funny and it's kind of a mixture of paranormal romance and chick lit.

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed - I saw you read the first two books, so you should go on with the third, Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. I only read the first, but I have second one at home and will be reading it for another challenge. I liked the first one so I'm really excited to see what comes next. (:

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed - Well, you rated Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer very highly and you liked The Host as far as I can see (so did I, it's an amazingly good book). But you haven't read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. I read it a month ago or so. I was though a little bit disappointed when I read it. I feel it could be longer and the character's could be more defined. But if you liked Twilight, you'll like this one too.

Rotating Paddocks - I had quite some trouble picking this one out and then I decided for If Tomorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon. Recently I'm really into his books, they mostly go by the same line (the main character is always a beautiful woman) but I never seem to be able to put them down. I don't even know how to describe this genre – something between a thriller, romance and a crime story. This one is really fun too. A lot of nice twists.

Stud - If you want to read a classic, then try Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, but I have to say it's one of those books which you'll love or you'll hate. When I read it, it took me awhile to get into the book but after that the reading was very smooth, I even cried a little bit. It's kind of dark and twisted, very extraordinary that it was written by a 28 years old women who never had a boyfriend and died a virgin, yet she was able to feel the romance so well. And if you're looking for something sexy, maybe you should try an anthology of 7 erotic stories Stories To Make You Blush: Seven Naughty Tales by Marie Gray. Time passes by quickly when you read this one. ;)

Spread the Love ~ Buddy reads
Poddy Calf - I always must recommend Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho, because it's one of my absolute favorites of all time. I read a few years back and want to try it again to see if my perspective changed a lot in these years. It's not something you usually read, but tell me if you're up for a challenge.

Breeding Stock - I noticed you have a lot of Nora Roberts books on your shelves and you haven't read them. I have her Morrigan's Cross at home right now and I will definetely be reading sometime in the following weeks.

This was really interesting - we have a LOT of authors in common, but then some were completely absent (thank heavens - 'cos you are really up to date on your series and have read nearly all my initial thoughts!). I'm going to dive back into your list as I think I want to add more of you books to my TBR list :)
But here are my thoughts for this month. Let me know if there are authors on here that you can't stand (ie there was a good reason why they weren't on your list!) because I have doubled-up a few times."

#Jane, thank you very much for the great picks! That was a huuuuuge post and I was very enthusiastic when I saw it .

Jane (PS) wrote: "* You’ve probably been rec’d this a lot before, but it is a great series: Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning. (I’m immersed in the third book now :)

#I tried to read Darkfever a while ago but the heroine seemed so ditzy and blonde and naive and PINK that it killed my appetite.Dunno if I have the courage to try it again...

Jane (PS) wrote: "* Seduction by Amanda Quick – I really like Sophy as a name as well.

#I like the name Sophia/Sophie/Sophy as well and I find myself atracted to the synopsis. The heroine doesn't seem so spineless.

Jane (PS) wrote: "New Blood : You’ve read a lot of Nora Roberts, but nothing by Jayne Ann Krentz. Their styles are relatively similar, so I thought you might enjoy one of these two books by her alter-ego Jayne Castle - After Dark or Shield's Lady.

#I really like both of these choices and if the style resembles Nora's, all the better! I'm going to give them a try.

Jane (PS) wrote: "Rotating Paddocks : Sci-fi – this appears to be a new genre for you (albeit that you have been reading it for a couple of months now), so I thought I’d recommend Games of Command by Linnea Sinclair - love this book; great space opera.

# After the Sirantha Jax series, I haven't managed to find another good space-opera but this one seems really interesting. I'll be adding it to my TBR shelf.

Jane (PS) wrote: "1st Place : One of my favourite authors is Georgette Heyer – great stories with expertly drawn characters: I think you would enjoy These Old Shades.
* At the other extreme and as a second option as my first rec really may not suit, I’ll rec another from Georgette Heyer as she really defined historical romance as we know it today - Devil's Cub (this follows the next generation of the Alistair family from These Old Shades).

# I've heard about Georgette Heyer but recently I'm not that into historicals ,maybe because I've gorged myself on them in January and February ^^' but the recs seem really good. So, as a result, I'll add them to my TBR.

It seems that this PIFM edition was very productive for me *laugh* Thanks again for the many great books, I'll return with another post with further details.

Megan L Harnett | 806 comments Hi Thenia,

This is my second month doing this challenge and I love it! So I hope what I pick you enjoy. If not let me know and I can change some of the picks. It looks like you and I have some books in common so that is a good start! Happy reading.

1st place - High Five by Janet Evanovich. I love this series! I think it has to be one of my favorites!!!

Baby Names - Firelight I love the name Jacinda! This is a good series too.

New Blood- Princess of the Midnight Ball This one I read last month as my buddy read and I really enjoyed it.

Rats and Mice in the stud shed- Lover Unbound This is another great series and this story in particular was one of my favorites!

Daily Feed- Sugar Daddy I am really enjoying the Hathaway series from Lisa. A friend of mine recommended another one of her series. So I am passing that along.

Rotating paddocks- Wizard's First Rule. This is a series that my husband turned me on to. It is strictlly science fiction. Lots of adventure and some love in it but a great series!

Stud- Night Pleasures The Dark-Hunter series is my favorite series!!!! I read the whole series in a month! Once you start with this first one it will get you sucked in!

Poddy calf- The Iron Daughter I read the first one in this series last month and I thought it was a quick read. So I will read this one with you.

Breeding Stock- Tiger's Curse I think this book and series looks fascinating. I hope it is a keeper!

Well hopefully you like what I picked for you. Let me know if you are interested in doing the buddy reads!

Happy Reading and enjoy!

~Megan~ (megadee) Tugce Nida, I hope I found something you might like here...we don't seem to read very much of the same stuff, so I tried to take most of them from your owned-TBR shelf. Let me know if you need different picks!

The Highs
1st Place:
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles - YA novel that I really loved. A huge 5 star emotional read for me.

Baby Names: Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas - character names Annabelle and Simon...how cute is that?
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper - this one is really more about that author's name, plus I wanted to find a way to get this book in here because I think it is so much fun!

New Blood: Lord of the Fading Lands by CL Wilson - one of my all-time favorite series, and something you might enjoy.
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen - I have to find a way to rec this author every month. I discovered her a while back and she's now one of my favorites.
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh - Another favorite series I think everyone should read.

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed:
Glory in Death by JD Robb - You enjoyed the first one, and this series just gets better and better as it goes along.

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed:
The Bride by Julie Garwood - You seem to have liked other Garwood historicals, and this is one of my personal favorites.
It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - You can't go wrong with SEP, and this is the book that started it all for the Chicago Stars series.

Rotating Paddocks: The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn - You don't seem to read very much historical romance, and JQ books are so much fun. The other two in the Bevelstoke series are just as great, though the second is my personal favorite.

Stud: Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery - One of the few classics that are near and dear to my heart.
Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott - A grand adventure that I loved when I read it in high school.

Spread the Love
Poddy Calf:
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen - My own personal shame is that I've never read a Jane Austen novel, though her stories are some of my favorites in the world. This one seems pretty short compared to the others, and I'd like to give it a go.

Breeding Stock: Divergent by Veronica Roth - I've heard great things about this one, and have been wanting to read it!

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments hi KarenH

I had a fun time going through your list - but had some difficulty in a few places because you've read stuff and not rated it, so I didn't know if you liked it or not...let me know if you need anything additional

1. 1st Place
Graceling - a YA fantasy that I saw you have on your TBR, I really enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the second one soon
Beautiful Disaster - I seem to be mentioning this book but I read it a month or so ago and while I hated the actions of the characters, I loved the book

2. Baby Names
Compromising Positions - I love the name sophie and this was a cute read
Addicted - the name of Anais was really unique in this book but it was a good read

3. New Blood
Some Girls Bite - I didn't see any Chloe Neill on your list, she is one of my current favorite authors and this is the first in her UF series
Magic to the Bone - I just finished reading this book the other week and will definately be continuing the series

4. Rats and Mice in the Stud Shed
two series on your TBR pile that I think you should continue - The Girl Who Played with Fire (i actually enjoyed this one more than the first one) and The Fiery Cross

5. Daily Feed
I saw you had read a book by Madeline Urban and gave it 4 stars, I love the series that she is co-writing with Abigail Roux - the first book is Cut & Run. I also saw you had read quite a bit of Maya Banks, so how about checking out the next book in her Sweet series - Sweet Persuasion

6. Rotating Paddocks
When i'm not reading romance, I tend to enjoy military thrillers/action adventure - 2 authors I enjoy are James Rollins and Matt Reilly, so why not trying either Sandstorm (the first book in Rollins Sigma Force series) or Seven Deadly Wonders by Reilly

7. Stud
Seducing Jane Porter - I remember getting this one as a freebie from amazon and enjoying it and it was rather spicy
Nicholas - this cover definately wins spicy cover award for me

8. Poddy Calf
How about a couple of shorties, both of these are less than 100 pages, so some quick reads - Rocky Mountain Heat or Up on the Housetop

9. Breeding Stock
All of Lorelei James books have been keepers for me, but i was a bit disappointed in the first book in this series, but people tell me this one is much better - so why don't we find out if Saddled and Spurred should go on the keeper list...I really want a hot motorcycle rider as a keeper, but maybe a book about them would work - Riding Wild

Thanks for the wonderful recs!

I've heard lots of good things about Susan Elizabeth Phillips, so I'm thinking I'll give Call Me Irresistible a try.

I'm about due for another Maya Banks fix, so I'll try to fit in No Place to Run too.

I'm interested in both The Iron Duke & Before I Fall for a buddy read, I'm just not sure when would be a good time. I also have to check and see how soon I can get a copy of Oliver's book from the library. (It's in the system, I'm just not sure where it would be coming from.) I'll log in and place it on hold, then let you know about the buddy read later.

Thanks again.

ETA Around 13 copies of Before I Fall system wide and I'm second on the list. Even though a couple of those copies are at high schools not in session yet, I should get a copy fairly quickly. I'll let you know when it comes in and we can plan from there.

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments Alright Miss! I’m going to try to recommend books that are already on your To-Read list so here we go!

The Highs
1st Place: The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen I love her books, they are very light and whimsical! The Sugar Queen was my all time favorite book by her so I highly recommend it as well as the other three she’s written!

Baby Names: Oh wow this one is going to be difficult. I’m going to pick The Swan Maiden by Jules Watson because I think Deirdre is an interesting name.

New Blood: I don’t think you’ve read this one yet but I’m going to recommend Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells. I haven’t read her yet but she’s next on my list. Let me know what you think and we can compare notes!

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed: Kindred in Death by J.D. Robb! I’m still very far behind in this series, but it looks like you’ve only got 4 left til you’re all caught up! Good Job! If you don’t feel like a J.D. Robb, then go with Lover Unleashed by J.R. Ward! I just started this series so you are a lot farther along than I.

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed: This one could also go in the previous category, I’m going with Sizzling Sixteen by Janet Evanovich!

Rotating Paddocks: I don’t see any graphic novels in your list, so I’m going to recommend Blood Work by Kim Harrison or the The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon. I love graphic novels because they’re short and sweet and make you feel like your being productive!

Stud: I’m going to recommend Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh. I’ve had people recommend her books to me for about 3 months in a row now, so I’m passing the recommendation on to you! I’ve started the first one but I haven’t picked it up again. I’m horrible, I know, I just have a short attention span…

Spread the Love ~ Buddy reads
Poddy Calf: An Enchanted Season anthology. Not sure if the book is short but the stories in them are. There is a story in this one that comes before Mine to Posses so maybe you can just read the story and then move on if you want to? Since you’re farther along in this series than I am, I doubt I’ll be able to do a buddy read on this one.

Breeding Stock: A book that could be a keeper?? Wouldn't that be all of them? Oh well, hmmm…I loved Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson. She’s a very funny writer and I laugh out loud when I read her books, I think you’ll really enjoy her. Just don’t take her too seriously ;)

There you go! I hope you enjoy these and happy reading! I look forward to reading what you thought of them ;)

The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen The Swan Maiden by Jules Watson Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1) by Jaye Wells Kindred in Death (In Death, #29) by J.D. Robb Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward Sizzling Sixteen (Stephanie Plum, #16) by Janet Evanovich Blood Work by Kim Harrison The Exile An Outlander Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon Mine to Possess (Psy-Changeling, #4) by Nalini Singh An Enchanted Season (Includes Psy-Changeling, #3.5; Murphy Sisters, #1) by Maggie Shayne Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson

Polina (p0lit0o) | 71 comments Hi, Tiffany! Here are my picks for you. I hope you’ll find something you like.

The Highs
1st Place - The last book that gave 5 stars to was My One and Only and it totally deserved it.
Baby Names - Perfect Chemistry – Alexander (Alejandro :D) has always been one of my favorite names.
New Blood - Without doubt, I recommend Nalini Singh. You can try her Psy-changeling series, which I absolutely adore – starting with Slave to Sensation.

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed - Crescendo – You read and enjoyed the first one so here is the second. I think there are only three books in this series but I’m not sure.

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed - Through the Veil – You have enjoyed Shiloh Walker’s Lafferty series so why don’t you try this one?
Rotating Paddocks - Cry No More - I noticed you read little romantic suspense. I am not a fan of the genre myself but for this book I made an exception. It’s one of the best books I’ve read lately.
Stud - Be With Me – I don’t know which sexy book is loved the most but this one is surely my favorite . Maya Banks writes some HOT! scenes and she is a well-known erotic author, so you won’t be sorry if you checked this book out.

Spread the Love ~ Buddy reads
Poddy Calf - The Summer Without Men – This book definitely sounds interesting and the main character does need some love so it fits the description. 
Breeding Stock - Angels' Blood – It is also by Nalini Singh , the first one in her Guild Hunter series, and I am sure it will be a keeper.

Have fun reading and I wish you a great summer!

Thank you so much for the posts!! I have read Firefly Lane and I thought it was awesome! I highly recommend it but it is a tear jerker! So I'll but in Night Road by Kristin Hannah instead because I just got that one for 60% off at Barnes and Nobles :) I'll definately be reading Mockingjay first, even though I'm kinda scared to. My husband finished reading it and he had to go have a man-cry for awhile, so that's why I've been putting it off. However, my husband is very sentimental so maybe I'll be ok. SandyC (sandyc88) | 1287 comments Hello, D.G.! I loved going through your shelves. I hope you find something you like on this list!

The Highs
Five Star Book: One Day by David Nicholls is not on your TBR, but this is a book I really loved. Each chapter re-visits Dex and Em on the same day over the course of 20 years and charts the highs and lows of their relationship. Another book I absolutely loved was A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon. You have read the series up to this point and rated it highly. Let me tell you, I thought this was the best of the entire series. Very emotional and engaging!

Baby Names: I'm a Southern gal, so I love the name Annabelle from Match Me If You Can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. This is a very good contemporary romance about a matchmaker and her sports-agent client. I also loved the name Bastien from Black Ice by Anne Stuart. This is a romantic suspense that I really enjoyed reading.

New Blood - I have a few choices for you here.
One of my favorite authors is Richelle Mead. I noticed you recently put Succubus Blues on your TBR so take a chance and read it!

It doesn't look like you have read any Janet Evanovich, so meet Stephanie Plum, Morelli and Ranger in One for the Money.

I really enjoy Jennifer Weiner's writing, so you could try In Her Shoes or Good in Bed.

I'm currently reading Something Blue by Emily Griffin, which I like even more than the first of this set, Something Borrowed.

(Not sure why, but I have been on a chick lit kick lately!)

The Low
Rats and Mice in the stud shed: The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson. You gave TGWTDT 3 stars, but the second one is so much better! You could also move along with Mac and Barrons with Faefever by Karen Marie Moning.

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed:
Son of the Morning by Linda Howard, or East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

Rotating Paddocks: A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin or It by Stephen King. I gave them both 5 stars!

Stud: Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward for sexy; Dracula by Bram Stoker or To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee for classic.

Spread the Love ~ Buddy reads
Poddy Calf:
Already Home by Susan Mallery.

Breeding Stock:Bewitching by Jill Barnett.

I have both of these on hold at the library, so I could do a buddy read if you want to!

Happy reading! :-)

Seven Deadly Wonders (Jack West Jr, #1) by Matthew Reilly is a GREAT read! You feel like you are living an action/adventure movie & I gotta say the main character gives Indianna Jones a run for his money :)

It's been a pleasure to pick for you! We read some of the same genres so I had a lot of fun trying to figure out books you would enjoy that I haven't recommended before (I'm trying to vary my books from month to month.) I also tried to recommend about a good chunks of books from your TBR with a mix of new ones. (I marked the ones from your TBR so I could keep track of how many I was recommending.)

Hope you find something in there you like. If you need something else, please let me know!

dg :)

THE HIGHS
1st Place - Cry No More by Linda Howard OR Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase. I love both these books. I cried buckets with the first one and laughed hysterically with the second one so they will definitely engage your emotions. Mr. Impossible is the second in a series but it can be read as a standalone (it's really not connected at all with the first book.)

Baby Names - Rode Hard, Put Up Wet by Lorelei James (TBR). This category took me the longest to figure out. One of my favorite names is Nyx but I could only find one series with heroine of that name...which you already read! So I'm going for a book title I really like, LOL! I mean, what's not to like? :p

New Blood - Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas OR Moon Called by Patricia Briggs (TBR). These are two of my favorite authors so you cannot go wrong with either. The first book is a standalone and the second, the start of an amazing series.

THE LOW
Rats and Mice in the stud shed
- Blaze of Memory by Nalini Singh (TBR). You enjoyed the first 6 books so I figured it was time to continue reading this series (I'm reading #10 now and all I have to say is WOW!)

THE DAILY ROUTINE
Daily Feed
- Deeper Than Midnight by Lara Adrian (TBR). You've given all the books in this series 5 stars...it doesn't get higher rated than that!

Rotating Paddocks - The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (epic fantasy) OR A Prisoner of Birth (thriller) by Jeffrey Archer. Like me, you seem to have very eclectic tastes but I didn't see any epic fantasy or thrillers on your shelves. The Name of the Wind was one of my favorites of last year - the language is simply beautiful! Or you may enjoy A Prisoner of Birth, which is a modern version of The Count of Monte Cristo. If you pick this one up, I suggest you check out the audiobook version narrated by Roger Allan (I noticed you listen to audiobooks too.) The ending gave me goosebumps.

Stud - Animal Farm by George Orwell. This is one of my favorite classics, a really powerful, insightful allegory (really funny too.)

SPREAD THE LOVE ~ BUDDY READS
These are on my TBR as well...if you want to join me in a buddy read, please let me know!
Poddy Calf - If Angels Burn by Lynn Viehl (TBR). A guy that needs reconstructive surgery definitely fits my idea of somebody who needs some love and at less than 300 pgs. it's definitely short!

Breeding Stock - A Lot Like Love by Julie James (TBR). I don't keep many books but in the last year, Julie James has become one of my favorite authors. If I were to keep books, it would definitely some of hers!

Cry No More by Linda Howard Mr. Impossible (Carsington Brothers, #2) by Loretta Chase Rode Hard, Put Up Wet (Rough Riders, #2) by Lorelei James Where Dreams Begin by Lisa Kleypas Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling, #7) by Nalini Singh Deeper Than Midnight (Midnight Breed, #9) by Lara Adrian The Name of the Wind (Kingkiller Chronicle #1) by Patrick Rothfuss A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer Animal Farm by George Orwell If Angels Burn (Darkyn, #1) by Lynn Viehl A Lot Like Love by Julie James

D.G. | 4477 comments Oh wow Sandy! How many great picks! I don't know where to start!

I'm considering all of these:

Succubus Blues
Faefever by Karen Marie Moning
A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward
Already Home by Susan Mallery
Bewitching by Jill Barnett

As of the rest, I added several of the others to my TBR and may read them in upcoming months.

Let me reduce the list further and then I'll let you know if I'm up to the buddy reads. :)

Thanks again!

Thanks for the awesome recs, Shell!

I think I will have to go with [book:Rode Hard, Put Up Wet
, which has been a start-and-stop for me. Just need to "cowgirl up" and finish it! ;-) As well, I will add Heat Stroke; loved the first one, haven't had a chance to get tot he second (it is even downloaded onto my Kobo!).

Blood Bound has a release date of Sept 1, but Mira often ships their books out early (I work at a bookstore). If it does come in a week early, you up for a buddy read?

hi gigi! thanks for the great picks :) i think i'm going to go with The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie. i've been wanting to check this one out for awhile!

taita ~ Cheryl ~

I had fun looking through your bookshelves for my picks. I admit that you had some interesting ones there already, which I added to my own TBR. I hope you find something you like. Have a great month of August!

1. 1st Place - Book rated 5 stars.
Looks like you like historicals. Me too! I suggest River God: A Novel of Ancient Egypt by Wilbur Smith, which is where I found my Goodreads name "Taita" from. Another good historical is The Alienist by Caleb Carr. It's a bit of a thriller too so I think you might enjoy it.

2. Baby Names - Name that you love.
I recently read this historical YA book by Alexandra Monir called Timeless. The Hero's name is "Philip James Walker". Doesn't that just roll off your tongue like butter?

3. New Blood - New author.
I read this book for a Latin American Literature class and it blew me away. It's got a bit of the fantasy/paranormal/historical. You may find it interesting. The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende.

4. Rats & Mice in the Stud Shed - Another book in a series that they've read.
I've only read one book in the de Warenne Series by Brenda Joyce myself, but saw that you rated the one book you did read very highly. Why not keep going? The Masquerade sounds interesting!

5. Daily Feed - Book from an author that they rate highly. I love Julie Garwood, and it looks like you enjoyed the book you read last. I suggest The Bride. It's a quick read that was funny and entertaining.

6. Rotating Paddocks - Book from a genre they don't regularly read.
I am all about Highland Romances. You may enjoy Monica McCarty. Highland Warrior is excellent, not to mention all the other ones she writes!

7. Stud - Well-loved classic or a sexy book.
So, you've read more traditional classics than I have so I can't really recommend those. I do think you should read A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught, which I consider to be one of my romance classics. Sigh. I love this book!

8. Poddy Calf (Buddy Read) - Short book to read where the H/h needs love.
I read Sarah MacLean's first book in the Love by the Numbers series and loved it. Would enjoy reading her next book with you. Let me know if you want to give Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord a try.

9. Breeding Stock (Buddy Read) - Book that you think could be a keeper.
I highly recommend Once and Always by Judith McNaught. This book has a special place in my library. I recently re-read this for another challenge and it is as I remembered it. Lovely.

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Pollyanna, Tried my best...hope you find something you like. If not let me know and I will try again! Happy Reading!!

The Highs
1st Place: Lover Unbound by J.R Ward was the last book I rated 5 stars. But since you are not up to #5 in the BDB series yet, I will recommend #3 Lover Awakened which I also gave 5 stars!

Baby Names: He Loves Lucyby Susan Donovan, Loved the show "I Love Lucy" and my God Daughter is named Lucy...plus the book is really good too! Another one that I like the names in is Mine Till Midnight...Amelia and Cam!

New Blood: When You Dare by Lori Foster, she is one of my faves. All her books are good, but I would start with her new series.

The Low
Rats & Mice in the stud shed: What Happens in London by Julia Quinn, saw that you just read the first one.

The Daily Routine
Daily Feed: Changeless by Gail Carriger, you rated the first one high...you won't be disppointed with this one either!

Rotating Paddocks: Historical Romance...A Lady Never Tells by Candace Camp, this is a great start to the series!

Stud: Sexy and classic to me at least...The MacKade Brothers: Rafe and Jared and The MacKade Brothers: Devin and Shane both by Nora Roberts. I loved these books!!

Spread the Love-Buddy Reads
Poddy Calf: Catching Caroline by Sylvia Day this is a short book and it seems that both the H/h need love!

Breeding Stock: My One and Only by Kristan Higgins, this one looks good!

Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #1) by Lori Foster What Happens in London (Bevelstoke #2) by Julia Quinn Changeless (The Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger A Lady Never Tells (Willowmere, #1) by Candace Camp The MacKade Brothers Rafe and Jared (MacKades #1 & 2) by Nora Roberts The MacKade Brothers Devin and Shane (MacKades #3 & 4) by Nora Roberts Catching Caroline by Sylvia Day My One and Only by Kristan Higgins
