I read The Chrysalids. I think this may have begun as a short story because I seem to recall reading part of it many years ago in a science fiction anthology. Another book that got me singing, since many of the lyrics of "Crown of Creation" (Jefferson Airplane) are from this book.

I read Fifty Is the New Fifty. Interesting book, not particularly novel, but a good reminder of some things to think about while moving into "second adulthood."
