Task 10.5 Mrs. Bridge
A beautifully written but depressing view of marriage. Not bitter or anti-marriage -- it just made me feel as if marriage is inevitably unfulfilling. Not my view or experience. But I will remember these vividly painted characters forever. And I will, at some point, read the companion book Mr. Bridge. But not yet.

Burn Unit: Saving Lives After The Flames - one of the books I read in the Winter challenge was The Gargoyle, of which, a key plot line was the horrific burns that were suffered by the protagonist during a car accident, so I read a book focused on the Burn Unit at Mass Gen. in Boston. a lot of the stuff in the gargoyle seemed to line up with what was in the book, however, it was interesting that Mass. Gen doesn't advocate the use of special rooms for debridment which was a key feature in the Gargoyle because they believe it actually is more likely to cause infections than to prevent them.
