Fall Down Laughing: How Squiggy Caught Multiple Sclerosis and Didn't Tell Nobody
I just finished Fall Down Laughing.....Excellent but you do have to get past the first 2 chapters of background on NY theater. Now back to Halfway to the Grave which I stopped reading for Fall Down. I am trying to juggle too many books at once.
Tried to post the link but goodreads now tells me there is no such book! HA! Endless malfunctions so I give up.

I meant to let you know, there a couple of cheese references, but not so much I would have pointed them out. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I downloaded the next in the series Night Pleasures! No will power whatsoever.

im currently reading the lost relic by scott mariani, well so far it has not really grapped my attention yet, i am debating whether to give up on it or not.

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane
I was just voting on a Halloween Listopia and saw this book which might be a good read for fall so I ordered it from the library. The reviews seem to swing wildly as some love and some hate it.
I also ordered a Stephen King I have never read as those are always good for a fall scare.

I read half this years ago but now I am into the new part I didn't get to. I am enjoying it altho I hate some of the characters like Devil Stranahan. His name is really supposed to be Derry but so far he is just evil. he is just a little lamb as compared to MacGowen....oh, got too upset....

I gave up trying to choose. I narrowed it down to
Moby-Dick or, The Whale, Beastly and The Second Mrs. Darcy and started readng them all. So far I've finished The Second Mrs Darcy, which was enjoyable enough, but not particularly memorable, and had only a tenuous link to Pride and Prejudice . I'm really enjoying Beastly, although I'm not a big fan of YA books and although the main theme to Moby Dick is interesting enough, I think the author's habit of writing really boring asides about whales/whaling ships/whaling is going to drive me insane before I finish (if I finish)

LOVE Peter Robinson! Have read all his books so far..
new one coming out next month or so...can't wait!
Currently working on the Peter James "Roy Grace" series.
3 down, 4 to go. Love those Brit procedurals.

I think I'm gonna read Mistress of the Art of Death next

Hi Robin, I hope you enjoy the group. Are you still sticking with Goldengrove? I must admit, I'm not much of a "sticker" if I don't enjoy something I abandon it. Although I might try it again some other time if there doen't seem a good reason why I'm not enjoying it.

Crucible of Secrets over the weekend, I also finished A Visit from the Goon Squad and The Other Side of the Bridge. I'm down to one book The Redbreast, which I will finish before making a decision on what next to read. I'm in the mood for something easy and undemanding, although I have commited to reading Les Miserables with another group!

I finished Moby Dick this morning. I'm still mulling over how to rate it. There's so much going on and he switches from being deadly serious to parody or other forms of humour so quickly I never knew whether to take it seriously or not in some parts. Other parts were really boring. I liked it overall, so I suppose it will get three stars once Goodreads decides to let me rate it (it's playing up at the moment).

Not done any reading today so far, but spent hours in the park with my daughter and the bikes ( I'm sore in a few unmentionable places)!

Sweet Poison

I am back to The Nine Lives of Chloe King which I had purchased as The End of the Affair is starting to get a little tiresome with their endless emotional pain. If they had any common sense she would have divorced and they could have gotten married altho Maurice probably has some mental problems and I am not sure they would have been solved by marriage but maybe. As it is he is insanely jealous.
The Nine Lives of Chloe King is relaxing fun not endless misery. I now prefer relaxing fun.

Do I go audio, kindle or paperback? Decisions!

Such as now, actually. I'm reading too many but enjoying them all so I can't decide what to give up. I just make sure I read at least 30 pages of any I pick up. Except for In the Castle of My Skin which is so difficult for me I can only manage 5-7 pages an hour & then I'm exhausted. Call It Sleep is another one that reads slow-but after 20+ years of starting it, I'm 250 pages in & really liking it. I'm also reading The Recognitions, Blackout (which is the opposite kind of reading-super fast-paced, leaves me breathless, really like it), some murder mysteries Shoots to Kill, Death of a Prankster, and Agatha Raisin and the Murderous Marriage.

I enjoyed The Map of True Places, it's had mixed reviews, and I admit some of the repetetive language and phrases irked after a while. I think it was there to emphasise the dementia of one of the characters, but it didn't really work. Other than that, it was a good story, well paced and completely compelling.
Hi Chris, Don't forget the Nook.....;-)
Maybe its called Book Nook? I was impressed by it.

I am embarrassed to admit what I am reading right now so will keep it secret. A hornet stung me awhile ago today so recovering. (allergic to vespids)
