August - Pick It For Me! Challenge

Now to start again."
man that is frustrating, but you finally got it I see.

Here are you recs. I noticed we read many of the same authors. I hope you will enjoy reading one of these.
TBR
1. 1984 By George Orwell.
2. Bad Moon Rising By Sherrilyn Kenyon.
3. Tempt Me at Twilight By Lisa Kleypas.
4. Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake By Sarah MacLean.
New:
These might only be somewhat new to you, since you have read something else of the author already.
1. To Wed a Scandalous Spy By Celeste Bradley. I love this book, I have read it countless times.
2. The Great Gatsby By Scott Fitzgerald. A classic.
3. Scent of Danger By Andrea Kane. I am not a big mystery reader, but after this book, I have started to read mystery as well.
4.Once a Princess By Johanna Lindsey.
Hopefully, you find some that you like to read.

A big Thank you, Debbie. You did a fantastic job and i love the pairing method! *hugs & kisses*

LOL! I think you sent it to the wrong person, i didn't get a PM....or did you send it to my email?

Mine too. I sent a friend request last night as you can't PM without being friends or having a public profile."
Hmmmm, i'm thinking some need a spanking! *go gets her paddle*

I also sent her a friendvite because my profile's private.

From Your TBR
1. City of Bones - well written YA, gets you hooked, you might not be able to read just one
2. You Slay Me - this is a fun start to this paranormal series, lots of action and laughs, always a decent mystery to the plot
3. Hard Day's Knight - loved this look at the modern renaissance fair, loved all the characters, lots of laughs and a good romance
4. Dead Until Dark - the first in this popular series, but what most don't realize is it is really a mystery series with paranormal characters, there is a bit of romance, of course, but it's mostly a mystery book - I enjoyed the early books in this series much more than the later ones
New to You
1. Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughn - historical romance, but more like medieval romance, this is the first in a trilogy, so well written with great characters
2. Charming the Prince by Teresa Medeiros - historical romance, this would be a safe bet for you since I saw a few of her other books on your shelf, I just read this and couldn't put it down...I literally stayed up all night reading! Loved it.
3. Playing with Fire by Gena Showalter - paranormal romance - a sequel to this just came out, but it was a standalone for awhile, this was my first Showalter book and made me want to read more by her
4. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs - urban fantasy - this is another series that is more mystery with paranormal characters, well written with great characters, each book gets better and better
Can't wait to see what you decide to read!

First, thanks for the recs! I don't know which one I'm gonna choose just yet but they all look very promising! :)
I'm really glad to be picking books for you this month. While I was going through your shelves I noticed that our tastes are not very similar, so it was a little hard for me to find books you might like.
Nevertheless, I did my best.
TBR
1. Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) It's one of my favorite series and you have read the first one and liked it so it was an easy pick.
2. Halfway to the Grave Really cool series with handsome hero for anybody to fall for. Everybody loves some Bones. *blushes*
3. City of Ashes Also a favorite of mine with really cool characters. I love them all!
4. Pleasure Unbound This series I haven't read but I've heard so much stuff about it my ears bleed. I guess it may be worth some attention. :)
New
1.Succubus Blues A very good paranormal-romance series. The author, Richelle Mead, also wrote The Vampire Academy series.
2.Letters to a Secret Lover I see you are a fan of a little erotic-romance so this book should catch your attention. It must be good because everybody has read it.
3.Kiss an Angel I don't know if you'll like this book but it's one of my absolute favorites. The characters, the setting, the story itself, everything it's perfect.
4.The Last Song Cool YA romance. A little cheesy but worth it.

I notice you have 0 books on your TBR (how is that possible?!), so all my recommendations will be in the New-to-You category, but based on topics you've read and liked. I also put in a few 'comfort reads' from authors you've already read.
1. Sarah Addison Allen has some light magic, a little romance, and just plain fun in her books. I highly recommend Garden Spells and The Girl Who Chased the Moon
You loved the Twilight series, so here are two series you might also enjoy:
2. Suzanne Collins has a great trilogy which begins with The Hunger Games. I've read the first two and am eagerly awaiting the release of the 3rd book later this month.
3. Kelley Armstrong has a trilogy about a young woman who can summon the dead. I really liked the first two books and will be reading the final one this month. The trilogy begins with The Summoning
4. You loved Neil Gaiman's Stardust - have you tried The Graveyard Book
5. You read and liked The Time Traveler's Wife, so you might also enjoy The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I loved this even more than TTTW
6. You've read Jodi Picoult's The Pact and My Sister's Keeper, so I also recommend her Nineteen Minutes
The first 6 recommendations are all strong 4*/5* reads for me. The next ones didn't rate that strongly, but were fun to read:
7. Since you loved the Harry Potter books, you might also enjoy the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage, about a young magician-in-training. It begins with Magyk
8. And for a light-hearted vampire series, try Queen Betsy books by MaryJanice Davidson - the series begins with Undead and Unwed
And because Historical Romance is my favorite genre, I just have to include one here, even though I didn't see any in your Books Read list. I'll give you the one I just reread: Saving Grace by Julie Garwood. I love the humor she gives her characters.

LOL! I think you sent it to the wrong person, i didn't get a PM....or did you send it to my..."
I was actually joking. No I didn't send you a picture of anything. It's generally more fun to leave whatever up to the person's imagination than to actually display it up front. And no I'm not suffering from any condition that would require a physician's attention anyway. Therapist maybe, but not a medical doctor.
Still waiting on the friend response.

You don't even to want to know what I imagined in that pic, LOL!

LOL! I think you sent it to the wrong person, i didn't get a PM....or did you s..."
LOL! Good thing you don't, i would be worried about you. As to the need for the therapist. I can recommend a good one, but i think we're better off the way we are. Therapist are usually more messed up than we are anyway.

I don't think you want to leave it to my imagination. Right now am thinking of something highly inappropriate by some people's standard. I'll give you a hint: It's as big as a horse.....ROFLMAO!

I also sent her a friendvite because my profile's private."
Yep Yep, that is exactly how it works, great to have you a part of it this month.

To- Read's:
The Scarlet Letter- A lovely classic. Something everyone should probably at least try to read at some point.
The Luxe- This series has gone over well. I guess it's time we gave it a chance..
Anathem- Not a light read, may need a thinking cap. xD.
The Lord Next Door- Why not enjoy the end of summer with a light funny read?
New "GoodReads":
The Measure of a Lady-Deeanne Gist writes historical romances that mostly the young adult population loves, but it’s still a nice fun read. I love most of them, and they do have a bit of Christianity in them but it doesn't affect the overall story that much. Mostly just underlines the ideals Deeanne has her characters following. My other favorite one is about this girl who travels with her brother...
The Hunger Games- I am to be starting this within the month. It’s one of those books that sort of makes you think about what our future could hold. If life really could ever turn out “that way”. (Like how 1984 made us feel.)
The Chesapeake Bay Series by Nora Roberts- Rising Tides is the first. In the last challenge I was recommended to read these stories, and it’s just a fun summer read. Simple romances, including a bit of a troubling plot or issue for the boys to figure out. You like what’d I call “avon romances” (sort of those silly titles, and great escapes lol.) and this is sort of like a higher class of that I guess. Maybe you’ll like to try them out.
Hmm…I hope this is a good enough selection. Seems it might not be broad enough? If not let me know! I’d love to look through your shelves again, and come up with some other great reading selections for you. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Welcome to the Pick It For Me Challenge! I'm thrilled to be your big sister for this month. As you don't have much on your to read shelf, I've picked 8 new to you books. You seem to read a mix of books, so I've tried to spread my rec's around different genres:
1. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood - you have a lot of literary fiction on your read shelf, and this is one book that has stayed with me since I read it almost a decade ago and is still a favourite.
2. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan - you gave the first Harry Potter book 5 stars, so chances are you'll love Percy Jackson. It's pretty different from the movie, but has a well-built mythology and great storyline.
3. Emma by Jane Austen - you gave high ratings to Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, so you may well enjoy Emma as well. I know Knightley is my favourite Austen hero! :)
4. Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke - you have some cozy mysteries on your read shelf that you seem to have enjoyed, so how about giving a culinary cozy a go? It's set in a cookie store and is the first in a long-running series.
5. The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie - where it all began for Hercule Poirot. I noticed you had a Christie on your read shelf, so you might enjoy Poirot's first outing.
6. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder - this is a brilliant fantasy novel that you might enjoy. Yelena is offered the opportunity to escape the hangman by becoming the poison taster. This book grabbed me from page one and didn't let up for the duration.
7. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris - you like mysteries, so you may like this. Most people assume that it's paranormal romance, but these books were originally marketed as paranormal mysteries and that's where they truly lie. Different to the tv show (True Blood), and in my opinion far better.
8. White Oleander by Janet Fitch - from the literary fiction and chick lit on your read shelf, I'm recommending this. It's about the journey of a girl through the foster system. There is a film that sticks pretty true to the book, just skipping one home, which is how I heard about it and it's easy to get hold of as it was an Oprah book club pick.
I hope there's something here that you'll enjoy! :)

TBR
1. Eternal Kiss of Darkness by Jeaniene Frost - this is also on my TBR and I plan to read it soon.
2. Marked by Elisabeth Naughton - I haven't read her yet, but she sounds interesting and I've picked up Stolen Fury and plan to read it soon, as long as I like it, Marked will be my next one by her.

New to You
3. My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent - you seem to like YA and this is one series I've started and enjoyed that I didn't see listed.
4. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs - I see you really like Ilona Andrews and Kelley Armstrong, which means you need to read Briggs. This is the start of her UF series about a coyote shape-shifter. She has also done a spin-off PNR series about werewolves.
5. Dead Girls are Easy by Terri Garey - your bio says you like ghosts and this series is about Nicki Styx who sees ghosts who want her help.
6. Freakonomics or SuperFreakonomics by Steven D. Levitt - I've only read the first so far, but found it very interesting and you had a few science/history books on your shelves.
7. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evie by Marianne Stillings - contemporary romance with a touch of suspense and good humor.
8. Highland Knight by Cindy Miles - another ghost book, but stand alone. My favorite of her's so far.

From Your TBR
1. City of Bones - well written YA, gets you hooked, you might..."
Thanks so much for the recs Melissa! I am out for the afternoon so I will post yours as soon as I get home. Super hard to do on my Blackberry! I will definitely read City of Bones and Hard Day's Knight and I will try to read more. I am going to add all of your new picks for me to my tbr- all look good!

From your To-Be-Read list:
1. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green - Nope haven't read it. But the reviews look interesting, it's been in your to-be-read pile for a while and it's by an author you list as one of your favorites. That should put it in your ballpark so to speak.
2. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick - Haven't read this either. However, tens of thousands of others have. I'm guessing that a fair number of your friends can be counted amongst those tens of thousands. It's always nice to read a wildly popular book to have your own opinion on the inevitable comparisons with other popular books.
3. Dirty Little Secrets by C.J. Omololu - interesting reviews on this book. The subject of hoarding is interesting as well.
4. Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead - You've read the first four and loved them. What's kept you from this? Whatever it is, don't let it keep you any longer. Read this.
Stay tuned for a post of new to you reads!

Debbie -
From your TBR pile:
-Mistaken Widow by Cheryl St. John
-The Blushing Bride by Judith Stacy
-Princess Diaries (#1) by Meg Cabot (really good!)
-Soulless by Gail Carriger (I've heard raving reviews!)
Other offers...
-One for the Monkey by Janet Evanovich
-Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austin
-Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
-My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares
I hope this list'll satisfy you!

Hmmm...we're already closed and doing our selections...

Here are the new to you suggestions:
1. Covet by J.R. Ward - With the number of angel/PNR books in your list I expected to see this in there. Lucky for me it wasn't as I get to recommend a book I really think you'll enjoy. Furthermore, since Ward is the author for the August Featured Author Challenge, you can kill two birds with one stone with this book.
2. World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks - funny and offbeat. Told in a pseudo-documentary style.
3. Watchmen by Alan Moore One of the greatest graphic novels ever made. Consider it your introduction to Western Manga. Read this then go watch the movie and bitch about the parts that were left out.
4. And because it is a romance group, I should throw a romance novel in there as well. Something fun with a PNR slant perhaps. How about Over Hexed by Vicki Lewis Thompson - light and fun.
If none of these will work for you, let me know and I will broaden my search. I'm used to recommending books for a 17 YO. But if your listed books are any indication, I'm sure my son has wildly different tastes than you. Also, he never recommends books to me so it will be interesting to see what you come up with for me.

Hope you're well!
I've sent you a friend request. I need to see your booklist to recommend books to you. So, can you either accept my friend request or make your profile temporarily public?
Yayyyy! This should be fun!
Gigi

From your extensive TBR list:
1. Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward
2. Dance With The Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon - one of my fave Dark Hunter books
3. Witch Fire by Anya Bast
4. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
New to you suggestions:
1. Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake - vampire/urban fantasy
2. The Witching Hour by Anne Rice - love Anne Rice's witch series
3. Born in Sin by Kinley MacGregor - not sure if you'll like this, but it's my favorite Sherrilyn Kenyon writing as Kinley MacGregor
And a couple of out of series order items:
3 1/2. Safe Harbor by Christine Feehan - Hannah and Jonas' story. I've found it's best to skip ahead when it comes to CF, though my absolute faves in this series are Turbulent Sea and Hidden Currents
4. Unleash the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon - by far my favorite Dark Hunter book
Hope you enjoy!
-Kerste

I see that you have read several Sci-Fi books. So I will try to recommend a couple.
Sci-Fi
Since you read the first one in the Sprawl Trilogy, I will recommend:
Count Zero
Mona Lisa Overdrive
Romance
Dancing with the Devil (PNR & HR)
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake(HR)
Causing Havoc(CR) The 1st of the SBC Series!! **One of my favorite authors!
Chick-Lit
Bet Me
Mr. Maybe
Other
The Kite Runner
For One More Day
Water for Elephants
I have read all these books except for the Sci-Fi ones. They are all pretty good! Hope you like them, if not let me know and I will try again!
Happy Reading!!

ooh this is going to be fun!
From your to-read list:

New to you picks:

I dare you to read:

I'll be glad to give you more ideas if you need them. I know this list doesn't have a lot of contemporary or paranormal on it...

From Your To-Read Shelf:
1.Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon~If you enjoyed Outlander, I am more than sure you will like the follow-up. It made me laugh & cry, sometimes at the same time.
2.Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught~McNaught is one of my favorite HR authors & I thought this was pretty good. The heroine became annoying at times but she more than redeemed herself. I don't know if you've read this or not. It appears that you rated it but it was on your TR shelf. If you have read it, please let me know & I will gladly give you another rec.
3.The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini~I haven't read this novel yet but I hear very good things about it. Four out of five of my GR friends who read this novel gave it at least 4 stars.
Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas~I noticed that you enjoyed the previous novels in Kleypas's Hathaways series & I think you would enjoy this one as well.

New To You: I noticed that you've read alot of HR & CR so those are the genres my rec's are coming from.
1.Pride of Lions by Marsha Canham~This is an epic two-part series that breaks my heart every time I read them. The hero is Scottish & the heroine is English & the novel is set around the Battle of Culloden.
2.Sleeping Beauty by Judith Ivory~I've only read two novels by this author but I thought both of them were amazing. Sleeping Beauty reminds me of some of the great romances of the 80s.
3.Once an Angel by Teresa Medeiros~This novel uses the "guardian & ward" romance trope but Medeiros takes it to a level that I never thought possible. One of my favorites by TM!
4.Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas~A good friend of mine recommended I try this author a few months ago & I am very glad I did. This is not a conventional romance but it was highly enjoyable.
5.Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy~I've read other series by EM but this is my favorite one so far. The heroines are down-to-earth & the heroes are scorching hot NASCAR drivers. I don't even like NASCAR but I love this series!
6.Black Ice by Anne Stuart~I'm not a fan of Romantic Suspense but this novel had me hooked from the first page. The hero is an assassin & the heroine is a book translator.

From your TBR list:
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - Gregory Maguire
The Vampire's Bride - Gena Showalter
Dark Lover - J.R. Ward
Almost to Die For - Tate Hallaway
New to you:
Bitten - Kelley Armstrong
Kiss of Midnight - Lara Adrian
Gangster - Lorenzo Carcaterra
Graceling - Kristin Cashore
Hope there's one on there you like!

TBR-
1.The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella by Stephanie Meyer- I love the whole Twilight series- this is supposed to be short but good.
2.Dark Lover by JR Ward- this is one of my all-time fave series- you must read it! If not now, then soon! And JR Ward is featured author this month so it's perfect.
3.Castle of the Wolf by Sandra Schwab- this is set in Germany so I am guessing it will fit in with Aug challenge.
4.Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lyn Childs- this looks really cute- I am adding it my tbr list too.
Ok- now on to the new ones-
1.Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins- I loved this book. I see that you read YA and PNR and this is both. There is a second book in the series coming out next year I think. About a girl who is a witch and gets sent to a boarding school for other-worldly beings.
2.Star Quality by Lori Foster et al. This is a pnr anthology. I love Lori Foster and all of the authors in this one. It's cute, light, with a pnr slant.
3.Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas- I noticed very little regency on your shelves and I thought I would throw one in. This is the first in a wonderful series by one of my all-time favorite authors.
4.After Midnight by Teresa Medeiros- I know you loved the other one you have read by her. This is my favorite of hers. There are 2 in the series and this is the first- romance and vampires- you can't go wrong.
5.Sun, Sand, Sex by Linda Lael Miller et al.- I threw in this extra one because I saw you had a lot of LLM on your tbr and the short story in this anthology by her is so good. About a 40ish couple trying to keep their marriage together. Just so heartwarming.
Hope you find something you like- if you don't, please let me know and I would be happy to search for more!

Here is my list for you:
TBR Pile:
Beloved: This was one of my favorite Toni Morrison novels. It is beautifully written and sensitive...It is definitely worth the time.
Mansfield Park: This is my favorite Jane Austen book (so far). The main character is imaginative and sweet, and I love the relationship between her and the family she lives with.
Poison Study: This is a wonderful book; I have read it at least 4 times. It is well written, with adventure, romance, and a little bit of magic thrown in.
The Joy Luck Club: I loved the relationships between the women and their families. It is a beautiful story, although I liked the movie better than the book.
My Picks:
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close: One of the most beautifully written books I have read in a while. The main character is a teen or pre-teen that recently lost his father in 9/11. He goes on a sort of treasure hunt through New York (based on clues his late father may have given him) and meets a lot of interesting people. It is very emotional but also funny and touching. One of my most recommended.
The Inheritance: A quick read, very sweet and romantic.
The Pretender: The first book in the Liar's Club series. I loved this book and all of the books to follow!
The Tattooed Girl: Joyce Carol Oates is one of my favorite authors, and this is the first book of hers that I read. It touches on anti-Semitism (any prejudice, really) and really makes you think, without shoving the topic in your face.

TBR
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger - I really liked this book!
High Country Bride by Linda Lael Miller - I have not read this book, but I like books about cowboys and ranchers.
Warrior's Woman by Johanna Lindsey - Again, I have not read this book, but I've read others by Lindsey that I've enjoyed.
Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts - Another book I haven't read, but like the author!
New
The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson - I have not read this yet, but I've borrowed it from a coworker who said that this one is a lot better than the first one. I see you gave the first one about the same rating that I did, so I thought I would pass on the recommendation!
Family Man by Jayne Ann Krentz - This is an older book, but one of my favorites!
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh - This is the first in a paranormal romance series. She has a different point of view and so far I have really liked the characters in this series.
You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister - This is the first in a series that includes dragons. I found this series funny and read through the first few books quite fast!
I hope you like at least one, if not more, of the choices. If not, I'm happy to recommend some more books!

Thanks for the great recommendations. I'm really torn between Halfway to the Grave and Succubus Blues so I'm not positive which one I'll end up reading this month maybe both if I can. I hope you were able to find something that you like out of my picks for you. I'll let you know when I decide which one I'm going to read.

Hello Yz the Whyz! I've been having fun thinking up something for you. I only hope that you feel you have a good choice ..."
Risa,
Just dropping by to let you know I'm working on your recs. Work had been pretty hectic, and a few things going on in Real Life, so I won't be online for long tonight.
But I'll post your recs by Sunday. Hope that's okay.
Plus, you read such 'serious' stuff, plus I'm more of a 'fluff' reader. : ) So let's see what I'll come up with.

Debbie -
From your TBR pile:
-Mistaken Widow by Cheryl St. John
-The Blushing Bride by Judith Stacy
-Princess Diaries (#1) by Meg Cabot (really good!)
-Soulless by Gail Carriger (I..."
oohh lala, I have been looking or an excuse to read
Soulless and you just gave it to me. Thanks =)

From your TBR:
1.) A Bend in the Road - really sad, but still a good, sappy love story.
2.) City of Bones - Ash and Glass is better if you read Bones first.
3.) Fantasy Lover - interesting beginning, I am told the rest of the series is different, but I liked this one.
4.) Dark Lover - very intense and very popular vampire series.
New to You:
1.) The Faerie Path - a young adult series that is fun for the imagination.
2.) The Girl Who Chased the Moon - Love anything Sarah Addison Allen, this is the most recent one she has out.
3.) Moon Called - a series full of all sorts of paranormal creatures from fae to werewolves and vampires.
4.) Playing with Fire - I am planning on reading this during August also, I have heard so much about it.
I hope you can find something in the list you want to read, if not I could come up with more. So glad you could be a part of this challenge with us this month.

Not exactly 4 and 4....
From TBR:
1.Halfway to the Grave- loved this book so much that I'm re-reading it and the rest of the series when book #5 releases next year.
2.How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire- a fun read. Nice and light, not too serious
3.Kitty and the Midnight Hour- Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty.....
(Now, I know that's not 4, but I got more in this next category....)
New to You
1.Magic's Pawn- one of the very first fantasy books I've read. One of the best series I've ever read...and it gets better- the 3rd book in the trilogy is the best.
2. and 2.5Goddess of Spring orGoddess of the Rose I love her Goddess Summoning series and these are my two favorites.
3.Bitten- the book that starts it all. Love this series. Elena is my favorite character of hers.
4.Daughter of the Blood- Imaginative world. Luckily she's writing more that are set in the same universe.
5.The Rest Falls Away- Vampire hunters! Suspense! Romance!
6.Beyond the Night- Just got done reading this series and am sad must wait for 4th. A post-apocalyptic romance.
I hope I gave you a nice selection to chose from:-)

Thanks for the recommendations! Here's what I came up for you!
From your TBR:
1. Sword of Darkness by Sherrilyn Kenyon
I really enjoyed this twist on the Arthur legend.
2. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley
I highly recommend this one if you are sick of the same perfect romance hero. Ian is definitely unique, but a still very relatable and lovable.
3. All Things Beautiful by Cathy Maxwell
Super interesting twist with the heroine if I remember correctly
4. To Taste Temptation by Elizabeth Hoyt
An interesting quartet that deals in a time I haven't read too many books about (the French and Indian war).
New:
1. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Decided to take you 1984 recommend and hit up another classic. This one is about books. It's dystopian and interesting if you like that "what if.." sort of book.
2. And Then He Kissed Her by Laura Lee Guhrke
Loved this one. Girl bachelors are the new thing in the late 1800s. No need to just be spinsters, but you can earn a living! This is the story of one of those and how she finds love along the way as well. I would describe this as a modern historical if that makes any sense.
3. Soulless by Gail Carriger
Great alternate history, steam punk paranormal witty mystery romance. Vampires and werewolves are not shunned by victorian england but function as part of the society.
4. The Spymaster's Lady by Joanna Bourne
Spy games; historical romance style.
Hope you find one thats acceptable!

TBR
1. To Love and to Cherish by Patricia Gaffney featuring Christy, one of Candy's favorite heroes (I'm reading Beyond Heaving Bosoms right now and I noticed you read it and liked it.) The hero is truly memorable and one of the genuinely good heroes you'll ever meet in romance.
2. Mistress of the Art of Death by Ariana Franklin. I picked this book because of the title (which I think it's really great) but found it to be a really good mystery set in times of Henry II.
3. Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. One of my absolute favorite romances!
4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I recommended this one last month but can't help myself and recommend it again. It can be used in the monthly challenge (set in Germany) and it's one of my favorite books...I cried buckets!
NEW TO YOU
1. Till Next We Meetby Karen Ranney. One of the few books in my keeper shelf, it has a really romantic plot (Cyrano-like) and distinctive hero.
2. Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann - This is a sheep detective story (yes, you heard that right.) It's a really AMAZING book.
3. Bobbie Faye's Very, Very, Very Bad Day by Toni McGee Causey - I always like to include a funny rump in my recomendations and this month is Bobbie Faye's turn. There will be explosions, high speed chases, bad guys, you name it.
4. Wicked Ties by Shayla Black - I noticed you are reading some erotica so I thought to suggest the first book in my favorite erotica series (deals with a woman's desire to explore S&M and the man who is willing to indulge her!).
