a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 667 comments I will have to join for Nalo Hopkinson.
Any recommendations about the others?

I haven't red Snow Queen or Foreigner. I know a lot of folks really like Foreigner. And, I really love Ninefox. A super interesting trans-corporal book with math magic.

message 106: by Aga (new)

Aga | 1066 comments I prefer the option 1.

message 107: by SFFBC, Ancillary Mod (new)

SFFBC | 845 comments Mod
Aga, is there something I can move around that would make it suit both you and Diane?

Currently we have one vote for each option, so we need a third option or more votes :)

message 108: by Aga (new)

Aga | 1066 comments Hmm… if we could switch Foreigner with The Anubis Gates it would be perfect.

SFFBC | 845 comments Mod
Like this?

Option 3

July:
The Snow Queen (448 pgs)
Foreigner (428 pgs)

August:
Red Mars (572 pgs)
Brown Girl in the Ring (250 pgs)

September:
The Anubis Gates (387 pgs)
Ninefox Gambit (384 pgs)

message 110: by Aga (new)

Aga | 1066 comments Exactly. This is perfect for me.

message 111: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments OK, option 3 is the one we'll go with unless someone objects!

message 112: by Aga (new)

Aga | 1066 comments Nice.

message 113: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1777 comments This sounds good to me! I only have Foreigner remaining for the (unofficial) SFFBC logo challenge, so this will help push me to read it.

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 667 comments The managing of this group slays.

Thanks Allison.
Red Mars also seems interesting, and after all it was the most voted.

I'll be reading it too, Meredith! (It will be a first-time read for me, though, not a re-read.)

Aga | 1066 comments I’m going to srart Foreginer as soon as I finish The Thief.

message 123: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1777 comments I'm probably going to read Space Between Worlds first. My library hold for that just came through.

message 124: by Kaia (new)

Kaia | 662 comments I’m planning to read Foreigner as well - my library copy just came in - but I need to finish the other book I have going first.

message 125: by Aga (new)

Aga | 1066 comments I’m starting Foreginer today. See you in the first impressions thread.

CBRetriever | 6113 comments fourth and so forth

message 132: by DivaDiane (new)

DivaDiane SM | 3676 comments Of the 10 or so books I voted for at least 7 are Fantasy. Maybe more.

message 133: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1777 comments My votes were about 50/50.

message 134: by CBRetriever (new)

CBRetriever | 6113 comments I stick with books in my TBR pile

message 135: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3169 comments I voted for what would be a re-read for me but well-worth it.

message 136: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1777 comments Mostly ones I actually own, but a couple I want to read that I can get from my library.

message 137: by DivaDiane (new)

DivaDiane SM | 3676 comments I usually vote only for books I already own. It’s a lot of them! This time I voted only for one I’d like to reread (Fahrenheit 451). And I think one book I don’t yet own. Can’t remember now which!

message 138: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1777 comments Do folks have any particular fantasy re-reads they want to campaign for?

message 139: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3169 comments I voted for a happy book: The Princess Bride. It won't win, though, so maybe someone else could lobby for your vote, Meredith!

message 140: by Aga (new)

Aga | 1066 comments I voted for The Princess Bride to! I really wish it would get into the rereads.

message 141: by DivaDiane (new)

DivaDiane SM | 3676 comments I just added the Princess Bride. I don’t own it, but I’d like to read it eventually.

message 142: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments As you wish.

(+1 for Princess Bride coming up.)

message 143: by Joelle.P.S (new)

Joelle.P.S | 150 comments She Who Became the Sun is pretty awesome -- and the sequel comes out soon 😀

message 144: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments Someone is lying, because Princess Bride only has 3 votes :D

(It's not me, I checked that I have a vote on it.)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3169 comments Anna wrote: "As you wish.

Have fun storming the castle, Anna :)

message 146: by mesal (new)

mesal (trilingual) | 2 comments Assassin's Apprentice made it to the top 6! Very excited to reread it, since it's been years and I don't recall a single plot point. Hoping it wins :)

message 147: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie | 1279 comments I vote for all the ones I haven't read
😐

message 148: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3169 comments Holy crap! All of a sudden The Princess Bride is in the lead!

message 149: by Stephen (new)

Stephen Burridge | 507 comments I haven’t read Steven Erikson at all. Is Gardens of the Moon generally considered good or representative? I see it’s the first in his big series.

CBRetriever | 6113 comments Stephen wrote: "I haven’t read Steven Erikson at all. Is Gardens of the Moon generally considered good or representative? I see it’s the first in his big series."

I think it's one of the better ones - the cast increases exponentially as you go through the series (like The Wheel of Time series), so it becomes more and more difficult to keep track of them
