I have several words in mind and I should've asked this earlier on than now, but does the word need to be associated with Spring or can it be a reading/books related word? Can it be a pun word related to a holiday in the spring?

Bonus word is: Egg-spectations
Awesome!!!
Being avid readers, most of us have heard of, if not read, Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I hope this spring brings you Great Egg-spectations. Pun intended lol
Have an awesome spring seasonal readathon with some egg-ceptional books. For those who celebrate, Happy Easter : )

Spring-tacular
I'm not good with these so suggestions are very much welcome!

I'm not good at just spouting out things off the top of my head either LOL I had to put some thought behind it and I made a list of several words to choose from.
But I like the one you chose!!!!

You're welcome!!!!

Having said that, I do see the appeal of challenging oneself, with fewer letters.
Just to clarify: Pun words are acceptable, and the word does not have to reflect the season.

Thanks Karen : ) Your explanation helps a lot! I started thinking about words around the time the challenge was ending just in case I got to pick. I contemplated a word with the most common letters but then thought, this is a challenge after all, not to easy but not to hard either. And then my mind said, well maybe it has to be associated with the season/theme for the challenge duration. Yes, I was seriously over-thinking all this lol. Then I thought oh a pun word would be fun.
One of my bookshelves sits directly in front of me so I just briefly scanned through the spines and decided that titles and authors start with every letter of the alphabet. I am a mood reader therefore I don't plan out my books for challenges or what I want to read for the month. I just read whatever and hope that I can fit the books into my challenges LOL

Thanks for the clarification Karen.. Looking for words and this sounds cool and season related.
Hope Springs Eternal

Just an FYI--I absolutely loved your posting layout last season. It so neat and clean looking. I hope you don't mind that I borrowed it for this season : ) and made a few changes to it.

No worries Robin, feel free to use and tweak it. 😄 I like organizing my posts and my challenges tracking thread.

Hi Robin, It's up to you about listing every book, but I find it easier to count up bonus points when they are listed.
The read-a-thons are for each individual. We can each decide how they are utilized. what kind information we want to include. I like to see the lists, so I can pick up new books to read (I always want to know what people are reading).

I'll go with Hope Springs Eternal 😊

Congratulations well done all!!
Please pick your bonus words for the Summer read-a-thon and post them here, or in the Summe! thread, or Private Message me.
Thank you!
I'm choosing "RELAXING" for my bonus word.
(Oops, I guess it doesn't have to be one word....Lol!)
(Oops, I guess it doesn't have to be one word....Lol!)
I was trying for something I associated with Summer, but will all different letters - it was hard to find!

For every book that you read with a title starting with one of the letters in the bonus word give yourself 1 point, if any section (first, middle, last) of the author's name starts with a letter in the bonus word give yourself 2 points. The most you can have for any one book is 3 bonus points, 1 for title and 2 for author.
For example (if WINTER were our bonus word):
Nothing Lasts Forever by Sidney Sheldon = 1 point for title
OR
Fire in the Blood by Dale Ibitz = 2 bonus points for author last name
OR
Winter Swans by Danica Winters = 1 point for title, 2 points for author = 3 bonus points
Be sure to tally your pages and bonus points separately. The top 3 people with the most bonus points at the end of the challenge will get to choose a bonus word for the next quarter. NOTE: Bonus point winners cannot win in two read-a-thon's in a row, to give more people the chance to choose bonus words.
To sign up simply start yourself a post to track what you've read during the read-a-thon. Edit your post throughout the read-a-thon to let everyone know which books you've read & your total number of pages.
