This series is the manga equivalent of a Quentin Tarantino collaboration with the Cohen brothers. Farcical, fast paced, bloody, silly, serious emotions, big stakes, stylish, and awkward. We get a little deeper in the character's lives, see the places where the cracks in their family of convenience are going to show and where actual romance and familial love might grow. There's progress on he spy mission, and lots and lots of bizarre yet somehow just right set pieces. It is so over the top and so ...more

After an amusing visit from Yor's brother, Loid wonders if he should be putting much trust Yor and decides to put her to the test. Meanwhile daughter Anya puts her telepathy to use in a dynamic game of dodgeball. It's all fun, but I'm starting to wonder exactly how many volumes this first mission is going to take. The last few pages seem to imply we're still in the phase of introducing core characters.

Thank goodness for another brief side adventure in the back of the book.

A solid 4 stars.
I really liked the characters and how the plot and worldbuilding was executed!
Also the art is so so good

The best chapters in this volume are the one where at least three family members are involved in the story. It started strong with the opening chapter of Loid meeting his worst nemesis, a brother-in-law with a sister complex working for the secret police. The volume ends with a special chapter of Loid and Yor on a date with Anya trailing the couple like the hero from her favorite spy anime.

Unfortunately, the middle chapter of Anya in school is a bit of drag, still good, but not as great as the

Spy x Family continues to be a delightful take on the espionage caper, especially when the focus is on Anya. Although this volume starts off a little weak with Yor's brother Yuri paying a visit to the Forger home - it relies a lot more heavily on familiar manga tropes of the too-loving brother - things pick up when Anya's attempts to get a meritorious star at school run up against a school dodgeball game (seriously, why is that game still a thing?) and the fact that at age five or six, Anya make ...more

This volume was a bit weaker but still super enjoyable.

It comes because Loid and Yor dealing with Yor's brother Yuri goes on a bit long and it's more slapstick than previous volumes. Then once we move back to the family unit of Anya, yor, and Loid it gets back to the Hi-jinks I love the most. With some great dodge-ball moments from our little Anya, a plot moving forward of infuriating the home, and a cute special chapter of Yor being shot in the butt and not telling anyone and Loid thinking she

Dani ❤️ Perspective of a Writer
Twilight is a master spy who always completes his mission no matter what he has to do. This next one might just be impossible as he’s required to obtain a wife and child to infiltrate an elite private school. Only he doesn’t know his wife, Yor, is an assassin and his child, Anya, is a telepath.

SPYxFAMILY is one of my favourite mangas of all time. Honestly, it's a delightfully fun manga with lots of action, comedy and suspense. I get so giddy and excited

The couple themselves are sugary sweet yet highly hilarious. They are a mismatch that obvious get along but seem to not admit they the perfect pair. Add in the amusing scenarios they get into for their missions and you've got one winning combination. It's fun, light hearted and an absolute joy. It's what I want out of my mangas.

This series is soooo good! I am loving the direction it's going with Anya, and her desire to keep her weird little family together and save the world in the process. She's so adorable and definitely a little crafty.
The extra mission section in the back was just perfection.

They are just the best fictional family ever! They try so hard, and they all are just so sweet!!! I am mighty bothered by Yor's brother because things aren't looking good here, really, but I really hope they would manage, because, again, they are just so sweet! And their date was just aww!
Also, the ending was intriguing... a lot! I know where we are going, and I am so so happy!

Company’s coming! Yor has to deal with the intrusive visit of her brother Yuri, who just found out that she’s married. While she tries to dodge that, Anya is engaged in a more literal dodging in gym class. Add in a little community service and another potential bizarre addition to the cast and it’s a packed volume of Spy x Family!

This series, when it excels, does so because it knows how to handle the little moments and because it has some of slickest comedic timing of any book I’m reading right

Spy x Family, Vol. 3 was another fun addition to the series! This series is silliness interspersed with seriousness. Light moments and dark ones, big picture, smaller moments. I love the bonding we get to see in this volume!

We pick up where Volume 2 left off we get to see Yuri (Yor's brother) interact with Yor and Loid. Yuri is quite the character! Loid has a moment of weakness and suspicion which is quickly cleared up. Yor struggles with her self-doubts and Anya, she tries and does help push

Spy X Family continues to easily be one of the most brilliant manga series out there! If you haven't read it yet you are missing out. A spy, telepath, and assassin create a fake family while also trying to keep their true identities a secret! An action-packed, espionage comedy where hijinks escalate with each page! Spy X Family Vol. 3 delves deeper into our phenomenal main cast!

compared to the first and second volumes this one definitely feels like more of a filler manga which hurts more knowing you’ve got to wait months until you can watch the plot develop but the bonus chapter at the end was so cute and it’s a great series!!

This is such an unusual spy thriller.

It's got all sorts of odd quirks. It's dark, it's campy, it has dry humor at times, other times there are truly LOL moments, it's gritty, it's silly, it's creepy, it's engrossing, & I love every moment of it! Anya is just adorable! Yor is cute & sexy. Kind of plain, but that long, dark hair, those big, dark eyes, that lovely smile, & those long legs that "go all the way up". Truly great wife material, assassin or not. I think we all want to see her & Loid get

It's all in the family.

With the surprise visit of Yor's brother Yuri (who is a secret police member as seen in volume 2) the Forger family faces their greatest challenge yet as Yuri comes bearing great mistrust for anyone that would dare steal his sister away from him. Suspicions run high as a battle of observations, wits, and a bit of booze turns an interrogation into an emotional battle of dangerous impacts. However with one of the things Twilight notices in the meeting he has to make sure of

I love Anya more and more!

However, I think that I'm ready for them to be honest with each other (at least the adults). They'd be like the Incredibles (minus an exploding baby).

Yuri, on the other hand, scares me. He has some deep psychological issues. Brother needs help!

Then there was Extra Mission #2. I'm also perplexed how Twilight could see through Yuri (for the most part) but be so oblivious to his "wife" and "child"'s oddities. (view spoiler)

The humor and artwork continue to make me laugh. This is a screwball comedy that is also an action/espionage story. Every character is ultimately skilled at their vocation, but clueless when it comes to other life skills.

The little girl's reactions to the people around her (Anya's telepathic) are precious! Yor (an accomplished assassin) has to deal with an intrusive visit by her brother Yuri (a member of the secret police), who just found out that she's married. Loid (a foreign spy) is trying hi

I received this as an advanced reader on Netgalley. I thoroughly enjoyed this manga. This non traditional family maintains their cohesion through all matter of trials. The characters remain unique, and their interactions with one another are wholesome. A spy and an assassin are trying to raise a psychic kid; you wouldn’t think they make for great role models as parents, but they are.
