GIVE US A CLUE
Duration: 1 January 2021 - 31 December 2021
This challenge is inspired by the classic board game Clue/Cluedo. To set the scene, you're investigating a murder at Reading Challenge Manor and you will be looking for clues in the books that you read. Books can be in any genre unless a prompt specifies otherwise. Prompts may be repeated but each book can only count once.

Every time you complete the following sentence - "I deduce it was [suspect] in the [room] with the [weapon]," we will update which tier of fictional detectives you fall into.
For example, I read Norse Mythology because it had a hammer on the cover, Eldest for the red cover and A Plain Cookery Book for the Working Classes so I can deduce that it was Miss Scarlet in the Kitchen with the wrench
1 deduction = Scooby Doo
2-3 deductions = Pink Panther
4-5 deductions = Nancy Drew
6-7 deductions = Jessica Fletcher
8-9 deductions = Hercule Poirot
10+ deductions = Sherlock Holmes
Also, if one of your deductions is 100% correct, you will also receive a medal of commendation🏅. We have randomly chosen whodunnit but will not be revealing the correct answer until later on in the year.
When updating your progress, please note I will not be checking original posts and your comment should include the number of books completed and also details of any deductions made.

For me, the wrench/spanner/tool was a pretty tough group. I even sought out a couple of sexy romances to get some folks on ladders, holding hammers, etc. That's definitely not one of my go-to genres! 😊 I'm planning to use Hatchet as a wood-cutting tool (also a Newbery), though it does have a blade and could arguably fit in the dagger/knife/sword group for that reason. And the word "saw" appears in many titles, and is a tool, opening up lots of options i.e. The Last Time I Saw You or What I Saw and How I Lied.
I'm having so much fun with this one. I'll probably keep adding on throughout the coming year. 😁
