As I said in my review of the last 3-in-1 volume, we are atsome of the parts that I would tune out or skip back when these episodes were new on Adult Swim. There were just some fights I was not interested in and just wanted them to get on with the plot. I still kind of agree, although when a show/book has so many fights, there are bound to be ones you're not interested in or one that goes on for too long and you really want to see what will happen next. Like I said on my last review, I love fights but that doesn't mean you have to like all of them.

The first volume (vol. 31), continued some of the fights from the previous volume, like Renji vs Szayelaporro. I loved seeing Uryu and Renji working together to beat that psycho. Grimmjow is my favourite Espada (I have another favourite too but that person is revealed in vol. 33 and I don't want to spoil it for anyone) so far. He may be bloodthirsty and his reason for killing people is pretty stupid but he is surprisingly honourable. Unlike that bastard Nnoitra, Grimmjow wants to fight someone who is completely healed, not half dead and for that I respect him.

What I didn't like is that Orihime healed the girls who were bullying her, I think their names are Loly and Menoly? I know you're a good and very caring person but they were beating you up, just let them die, why waste your energy healing them? Sometimes characters are too nice and I love but many times (like in this case), it really annoys me.

The next volume (vol. 32) alternates between Grimmjow vs Ichigo and Szayelaporro vs Renji and Uryu and I really enjoyed this one. There are two fights I've been anticipating (I don't know why I don't remember them clearly from watching the anime years ago, maybe I accidentally missed a few episodes by accident? I don't know) since vol. 21 and that is the real fight against Grimmjow and the real fight against Ulqiora (I remember that one going really crazy) and the Ichigo vs Grimmjow fight did not disappoint. I actually really liked him even though I thought his reason for wanting to kill certain people was very childish. He just seemed funny, surpringly honourable when it comes to a fight, he's not a scumbag like Nnoitra (you can probably tell I really hate him). I don't know, I just really like him and already miss him. I understand his popularity with fans but I don't understand why people like Ulqiora, he's so boring and stuck up.

With the last volume in this omnibus (vol. 33), some of the chapters were hard to get through. I know that most enemies will not be like Grimmjow where they want their opponent 100% heeled and that Nnoitra attacking Ichigo while he's injured is usually what an enemy would do but I don't know why it still felt like he was bullying him. Normally I'm ok with the main character being forced to fight another enemy before having time to recover but for some reason it just bothered me, I know it's silly feel that way but that's just how it was. Although what actually annoyed me is that he thought he was so strong because he was beating up an injured man and winning. Of course you're going to win, you idiot! I don't understand why Ichigo didn't taunt him about fighting an injured man so that he can have an easy win. While I was reading these chapters, I was thinking that if Nnoitra hates fighting someone who's weak, then why fight injured man, it just doesn't make sense to me. But the thing that I hate the most about him is that he's sexist. He mentions in a flashback that the reason he wants to kill a certain Espada over other ones is because he can't stand the idea of a woman beating a man in battle... That says it all. I don't know if anyone likes him but I haven't heard anyone talk about him. Usually the ones I hear people talking about and loving are Ulqiora and Grimmjow. I just can't agree with anyone who does like him, if anyone does, because he's terrible to look at (what is up with that wird smile), his reasons for wanting to kill and he's a sexist. I'm not a modern feminist (I don't want to be associated with them since most of them hate men and want to be above men in everything, they don't actually want equality), I'm more of a traditional feminist, unlike this current wave of feminism I actually do believe in equality between men and women. So I don't call everything sexist like modern feminists do. I bet the only one who will miss him when he eventually dies (he better die) is his subordinate Tesra. The woman he wanted to kill in the past had a good point, he is like a beast. I like her, she's pretty cool and tough. There was definitely a different atmosphere when Ichigo was fighting Grimmjow. It felt like two equals fighting each other while this one felt like a bully picking on someone weaker than him (even though we don't really know how strong or weak Ichigo is compared to Nnoitra since he's fighting him while heavily injured.

Overall, I really enjoyed the first two volumes, not so much the first few chapters of vol. 33 but I enjoyed the rest of it. Many of the chapters were so good that I couldn't put it down. It was overall a pretty good omnibus even though I would have rather had the vol. 31 or vol. 32 cover on this omnibus. I did not want to look at this guy every time I picked up this book. I'm reading the single editions for the next ones because I am not looking at Kurusuchi the whole time I'm reading it, he terrifies me (especially his looks😬).

"Sorry, Grimmjow. Looks like... I'm not allowed to sustain any more damage."

It's kind of a little annoying Uryu ends up fighting the Espada version of Kurotsuchi. Like it's setting up a pattern that the nerd guy will keep fighting nerds.

Loving Pesche and Dondochakka overall, and it's extremely exciting to see them get a bit serious at the end!

Volume 31: A wee bit of a fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra. Uryu jumps in on Renji's side against Szayelaporro; they defeat him hard enough to destroy his clothes, so he fucks off to get dressed again. Grimmjow rescues Orihime so he could have her heal Ichigo to keep him in shape for their rematch. Grimmjow and Ulquiorra have a battle, which Grimmjow wins; the key is to push Ulquiorra away to give time for Grimmjow to fight Ichigo. So that's two Espadas we'll be seeing return eventually.

Volume 32: Basically just Ichigo versus Grimmjow the entire time. Nnoitora shows up at the end. Turns out a lot of Adjuchas we saw before (Shawlong, D-Roy, &c.) are actually Grimmjow's long-time nakama, so that's cute.

Volume 33: Renji, Uryu, Pesche, and Dondochakka engage in round two against Szayelaporro, who releases his Resurección. Ichigo gets defeated by Nnoitora, just in time for Nel to regain her true form as former Espada 3 to battle against Nnoitora. Sensing her return, Pesche and Dondochakka step up against Szayelaporro. The volume ends with Nel about to activate Resurección.

****

Some top-tier ryona when Grimmjow is beating the shit out of Loly and Menoly. Especially Loly getting her sexy leg ripped off, wew lads 🥵

Harribel's Fracciónes are all cute as well. I think we saw them before.

"And finally there are Pesche's clones! As you've probably already noticed... the fake ones... are wearing pants!"

Battles after battles after senseless battles and boasting egos and fights that I can read even faster than before. As a short history of Hueco Mundo reveals how Hollows becomes Adjuchas that soon leads to Vasto Lordes and so forth, I can't help but wonder how much more of this is going on, especially Tite Kubo find new ways to reveal powers and how heroes will need to fight harder to win. The cheap shock reveal of certain characters doesn't live it up, its just an extension of a long arc that leads to the ultimate battle (which is in Karakura Town) but in a way, seriously... that's just extending pointless battles (pointless if you look into why they fight) as their main purposes is basically protecting loved ones through fighting. This manga series, I realize has been a repeat to every thing there is from the first arc. Did I enjoy it? Only when its fast to read yes. Its not exactly great and yet, well, I can spent my afternoons of nothing to do, reading Bleach only.

This story arc does very well in the three in one volume format. Ichigo and company have arrived to rescue Orihime only to find themselves in boss level battle that seem impossible to defeat.

I had a little problem initially with Orihime's passive response to captivity but it is all about and oath she gave. I loved the action in these volumes. Bleach excels at great battle scenes and emotional reveals.

These 3 volumes have a bit of everything.

SPOILERS AHEAD
As the "team" continues to explore Las Noches, they think that Rukia is dead.
Ichigo almost dies.
Nell regains her true form.
Battles galore.
And we get to watch Ulquiorra again.

To me Ulquiorra has always been one of the great antagonists.

I really still don't like Orihime, but oh well.
Really loved this trio of volumes.
Everyone shines in a way or another (minus the absent Rukia)

i enjoy szayel now as much as i did when i was reading these weekly; similarly, a couple of the other villains (like grimmjow) and the endless running around in hueco mundo (effectively a blank space) are still boring! i remember enjoying this arc more when the gotei 13 folks show up — looking forward to it!

Battle commences in this volume. Ulqioura appears taunting Ichigo and no news of Rukia's fate. Grimjow wants to fight Ichigo, to prove he is stronger. Nel makes a new discovery, what danger lies ahead for Ichigo and his group? The battle scenes in this volume was excellent, we meet a mad scientist - he is well. . . insane but fun.

Ichigo vs. Grimmjow. That's it. I liked everything else, but I did get a bit annoyed with Orihime for being so passive about her kidnapping (if I was here, I'll be making a shitton of noise and threatening everybody) but then, because of Ulqurrora you kinda understand why she was being passive, no matter how much she wants to scream and holler and escape.

Action from page one till the end. Great battles and a few characters reveal moments that I did not see coming. The Espadas have made a great new antagonist for our heroes.

It looses a star for the fact that seriously every woman gets scanty clothes in the volume or held in a pervy way....

While good, the fights are starting to get repetitive. Just a lot of 'Sike, you thought' going on.

Most of this book is fights so it was quite a quick read as there wasn't a lot of speech etc. There was some interesting backstorys though, I liked seeing Grimmjows, I thought that was pretty interesting as we got to see what hollows are like for their own pov. The designs of the espadas in like their release form are pretty neat too

Another fantastic bind-up. I really enjoyed the side stories giving a sneak peak into Grimmjow's and Hitsuga's origins and loved the reveal of Nel.

Enjoyable but not as fun as others. I thought the villain in volume 33 is weird and dumb.
