And since this is the last round of voting in 2021, the same question I asked last year: Do you still want to keep doing this next year?

One thing that would probably make the reread threads livelier is if someone who was reading the book would take on the role of starting the discussion. I think that maybe some people are hesitant to be the first to post in old threads? Mods can of course post something general, but if someone who is actually reading the book (or read it recently) has a great discussion starter, I'm pretty sure more people would participate. I don't want to start assigning tasks to anyone, but something to keep in mind!
Also, would people prefer to do rereads in a buddy read style, with spoiler tags? Buddy reads are always more active, because it's easier to post your thoughts as you read. We'd still use the same threads, but like with buddy reads of group books, you could use spoiler tags in the spoiler thread during the reread period. There's the risk that someone will post open spoilers, but if everyone opens the thread with caution and ready to avert their eyes, it should be doable? (Yes, I know app users and spoiler tags don't mix.)

That's kinda what they do on the Mystery forum. The person who proposed a monthly book selection is supposed to start and continue with that thread. I'm about to do my second thread over there next month for Resurrection Bay (deaf detective in Australia) having previously done one for Entry Island

As for the spoiler threads, I don't mind reusing them for rereads though I prefer the new readers are also using spoiler tags.

There's no way to absolutely guarantee people won't post open spoilers, but we can do what I did in the recent Dawn buddy read (that's the spoiler thread, but the post I've linked to isn't spoilery), and add a mod post asking for spoiler tags during the reread period. If we post them with the mod account, they can double as reminders that the reread is starting, at least for those who are friends with mod and can see updates.
All that said, I don't personally sit in a corner sobbing because people aren't active in reread threads! If those of us who do read the rereads on schedule are happy with how things are, then there's no need to change anything :)
edit: Essentially this is just to ask if there's anything I can do to make rereads better!
Aside from VBC, I use the rereads schedule for extra motivation in reading something on the shelf that I've not read yet, but I rarely feel passionate enough about them to resurrect a thread.
