Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments Howdy, Mods!

Can we get a BR thread for:

Son of the Shadows (Sevenwaters, #2) by Juliet Marillier Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier
Start dated: December 12th
So far participants are Nicole, Cait and myself.

Love to have more people join us. Son of the Shadows is the second book in the Sevenwaters series, sequal to the unforgettable Daughter of the Forest.

Thank you!

Tara Jo any preference?

Anyone want to read Burnedby Karen M Moning, the next in the Fever series, being released 20 January, 2015?

January is best for me, as well. I started it a while back but I've gotten sidetracked with Challenges/BRs/BOMs.

I'm pretty full right now on various challenges (November is completely reserved, and December is quickly filling up, although I have a quarterly challenge that starts 12/1 that I have no idea what it will entail!). I may join in at some point, I wasn't sure specifically which book was being looked at, so for now, don't base anything on me!

I loved Daughter of the Forest! I'll join in for Son of the Shadows

Greta | 1459 comments Cynthia & Esther- I am fine with waiting & saying late December

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments I've read every adult book Juliet Marillier has written and Son of the Shadows is her best out of a fantastic body of work. Enjoy ladies.

Marla | 1803 comments @Greta - I'm listening to Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness right now, but you can join me and I'll come back to comment next month. I think I could wait and do Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi in December. (The problem is I have the books already from the library, so I have to finish them before they are not renewable.)

message 514: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Kathryn wrote: "Sure! Are you likely to want to continue both the series'? Because I am. I own them all, I think."

Maybe, I don't have the books, so I'll have to see if I can get them cheap. I know I like the way Kelley Armstrong writes, so I probably want to read all of her books. I'm not sure about the other one. Depends on how it turns out.

I understand, Marla. If you want, I could do Unravel Me early December, but if not it's not a problem.

When are you planning to read this? I might be in for late November, although my calendar is fit to bursting with all the BRs I've planned..!

message 520: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (cynthiab) @ Zee and Kathryn: I'd love to read Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor with you on the 8th. I've already read that week's BOM and my next BR isn't until the 15th.

@ Greta and Esther: The end of December is perfect for The Blade Itself (The First Law, #1) by Joe Abercrombie . I have 1 book penciled in for the 18th, and 1 for the 21st. Light schedule, so anything the last 2 weeks of December works for me.

I have the book for three weeks, so any time in there. It has come highly recommended if you like things like The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1) by Graeme Simsion

Should we set a tentative date of December 27 or so and that way we have a thread ready to go? If we need to adjust the date a little we can....

Margaret (everlastinggrace) I am currently reading As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner and plan to have it read after November 8th. I am slowly devouring it and enjoying it, a heads-up for anyone interested, it is written in the narrative mode of 'stream of consciousness' which can be offsetting if you are not aware or prepared for it.

message 547: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (cynthiab) @ Amanda - You can set the date for The Glass Magician (The Paper Magician Trilogy, #2) by Charlie N. Holmberg and just let me know. You don't want to read it out of order.

IIRC, it was a very short read. I got The Paper Magician (The Paper Magician Trilogy, #1) by Charlie N. Holmberg via Kindle First program, so it was free. But both books are in Kindle Unlimited (and maybe the KOLL, I haven't checked)if anyone else is interested and a member.
