Sanskriti Nagar | 318 comments I'm in for the Dark Tower Series buddy read as well. I'm on the River Sprites team over at TT3, so this should get pretty exciting. Now to go and hunt for the books...

Oh yes! We have spreadsheets aplenty!

Ghost in the Stacks Greta wrote: "Yea for something new from Patrick Rothfuss...Does anyone want to read The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss with me? I'll be getting my copy as soon as it's released!"

I would love to read this with you Greta!

message 59: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Great, Abbie! Have you read his other two books? If not, I just read his own review of this book suggesting that those two books are a better place to start...this is a book based on one of the characters from the Kingkiller Trilogy. Just making sure...would hate for you to be disappointed.

message 61: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Bummer, yes. I would wait until you read the first two books in the series.

message 62: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments @Tea - I would love to join in the buddy read for the The Lord of the Rings series! I actually came to this thread to see if anyone would want to read it.

I actually just read The Fellowship of the Ring so I can join in the discussion for that and then read the next two with you! Yay!

message 63: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Great, Kaora! When do you want to start?

Each person participating can earn the bonus points as long as there's someone from another team as well. Keep in mind participating is joining into the conversation and not just posting superficially.

Wheel of Time you're on about. If so, I'll reread it with you. I haven't read the last book yet, as I been wanting to reread the rest first.

Ghost in the Stacks So we have, Abbie, Taryn, Greta, Sanz,& Kristen for The Gunslinger
The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King

The Dark Tower Series

Starting Monday. OCT 27

I haven't done a buddy read in this group, so not sure how we get a thread.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 4205 comments We have a couple of people on our Tower Team interested in a buddy read for Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, #4) by Ilona Andrews . Any other takers?

Also...I'm looking for a buddy read for any one of these:
The Lewis Man (Lewis Trilogy, #2) by Peter May Death Without Company (Walt Longmire, #2) by Craig Johnson Mortal Danger (World of the Lupi, #2) by Eileen Wilks

I could easily be talked into a series read of the Walt Longmire Mysteries.

message 68: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments I know this is in the middle of the series, but it can be read as a standalone so I'll put it on here. The others are standalones or first book in the series!

Broken Harbour (Dublin Murder Squad, #4) by Tana French Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3) by Stephanie Perkins

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Let me know if you'd be interested in reading any of these!

message 69: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments So Abbie, just checking but we get Tower Team points as long as we do the reading starting Nov 8th? Or are you planning just to be done with Gunslinger before that?

As long as we finish the book after Nov. 8th then we get the points, so it's up to you guys. We can start later if you want to.

It would actually be my first time reading it! And it's one of the books on my 12+2 list so I really want to get it done. We can also schedule it for after November 8th so we can get points for Tower Teams, if you can wait until then to read it?

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

Omg!!! Yes I definitely can. I would LOVE to reread it with someone who hasn't ever read it before. Yay! Just let me know when you want to do it. :)

message 77: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments @ Sarah - I'm planning to read Big Little Lies around Nov 9 with another club. I would do a buddy read with you if you wanted to do it around then.

message 81: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments Oh my goodness. This thread is going to overwhelm me! So many that I want to read, way more than I realistically have time for. I definitely need to get organized here.

@ Karen - Did you want to read Jurassic Park? If so, what date works for you.

Anyone that was interested in the Unwind series - Did we have a date in mind? I wasn't planning to start until sometime in December, but I can change some dates around if need be.

How does November 10th sound to you, Taryn? We'll get points for a Buddy Read, I'll get a book done from my 12+2, AND I'll finally be reading HP. I say it's a win/win/win

message 86: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments Beth & Sarah I ll join in for Broken Harbour. Sarah's suggestion for December works for me

message 87: by Sarah (last edited Oct 22, 2014 06:45PM) (new)

message 88: by Kristie (last edited Oct 22, 2014 06:48PM) (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments Sounds good, Sarah!

When the Dark Tower group gets to The Wind Through the Keyhole I may jump in on that with you. I pre-ordered it because I loved the series and still haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. This would be the perfect opportunity.

HP!!! Man....don't know if I have time for a re-read right now, but I loved that series. I so wish I was a faster reader right now. lol

Okay, yeah. Sounds like you guys want to start a little later which is completely fine with me. How about Nov. 14th instead?

message 96: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments Can one of the mods make a buddy read post for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on November 10th? Also, I may need a reminder

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

message 98: by Sarah (last edited Oct 22, 2014 08:23PM) (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments OK - MODS - can you set up a buddy read for Broken Harbour (Dublin Murder Squad, #4) by Tana French for Dec. 21st. Thank you. Now I hope my copy from Overdrive will come through by then. If not I can spend the money on Amazon

I really don't care either way, Taryn :-) Let's see what the others think.

message 100: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments You guys are saving my butt here. I JUST started the Dublin Murder Squad series in September and zipped right through it. Now that I'm waiting until December, hopefully the fifth book in the series goes down in price by the time I read it!
