November 23 works well for me!

Ok, sorry I'm lost in this ever-changing thread! Did we come up with a start date for WoT or did I miss the announcement in the thread?

I can get an audio copy of Holidays on Ice but I've never done an audio before! My library describes it as such: electronic audio, and the link says it's available to my library system via Overdrive. I don't know what that means, lol. If I do that, am I downloading a book to my computer or something? I could listen to it while I fold laundry and stuff. So, count this as a tentative "Yes", until further notice, hehe. I have a list of holiday books that I want to read so I will peruse it and list a few that might have wide appeal and see if anyone wants to read along in December.

For Cinder - I commented here but now that I'm deeper into the thread I see that my thoughts might have to change. If people want to start Cinder in order to get to Scarlet and then join the December 23rd BR of Cress, I am open to that, too. Maybe start Cinder in early December? I'm not sure how long the book is or how long it would take any of us to get into it.

Make a list. It's a life saver! I've just started a text file for my November and December reads, including which ones are for Buddy Reads, when the BR starts and who all might be joining me. If I didn't keep notes on this, I'd be lost.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Taryn wrote: "Ok, sorry I'm lost in this ever-changing thread! Did we come up with a start date for WoT or did I miss the announcement in the thread?"

Do you feel like you are in a room where everyone is talking animatedly all at once? LOL! I know when I catch up with this thread, that's how I feel. That's why I keep making multiple post responses in a row -- if I try to remember everything and save it for one response I'll forget most everything I wanted to say, haha.

Great, NancyHelen! I don't know when I will start the first one but it won't be for a few weeks, at least. I'm still trying to catch up with my October reads. But, I will request a thread for us over in the Series Reads section!

I posted a request for a thread over in the Featured Series Reads.

Kristie | 3595 comments I just put all the buddy reads I want to join in my calendar and holy moly! There's a lot of great buddy reads coming up.

By the way, if you ever need to know if/when a buddy read has been scheduled or what books people are looking for partners for, there is a nice little summary at the beginning of this thread. Just go to the first page.

Just a thought and I'm not 100% sure I'll be reading them, so you can ignore me. But how about Cinder starting 25 Nov and Scarlet 9th Dec. That give 2 weeks for each book before Cress starting 23 Dec. However as I said before I'm not guaranteed to read them, so those as you definitely reading may have a better idea.

The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments While perusing the Buddy Reads that have already been done, I came across the one for The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern . I got a little under halfway through the book a few years ago but ran out of time to read it so I returned it and have not gotten around to picking it back up. Well, lately I have really wanted to read it again and finish it so I'm thinking a buddy read just might be the inspiration I need to get it done.

Any interest? We can wait until December or even January if you'd like.

I wonder how long TT3 is going to last... just how far in advance should we set up buddy reads? haha!

Is it too late to ask if you're interested ;).

Also, the Mudbound they're talking about is the one I was telling you about earlier. Sounds like something you'd like.

Even though I like reading at my own pace I think I'm gonna try jumping in discussions for several of these. I hope I don't end up overcommitting myself. Need to get out my calendar and schedule book appointments I think.

message 240: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Hahah. Right now, I have so many I just want to read on my own / at my own pace, before the challenge that I'm not even looking ahead.

After the challenge starts, however, I think Crime and Punishment, and The King's Curse are two long enough books that I don't need any other buddy reads to commit to on top of it ;)

Sure, I would love to read that with you in November. It would be nice to read a large book that isn't to complex like Inhertiance or A Clash of Kings, which are some of the books I am currently reading for fun.

message 247: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments I may be able to join in reading Outlander depending on my schedule.

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Great. I'm going to listen to it, since I got it on audible, so I hope it's a good narrator.

I just finished Clash of Kings. That one took me 4 months to finish :/ not because it was boring or anything, I just had troubles fitting reading time in with it. I won't be reading onward on that series until the new year I think. With all the books I've got lined up already.

I share your sentiments, Sanz! I am such a moody reader but there are so many books that I have been wanting to read that are going to be buddy reads so I figured maybe reading with others is the motivation I need to just get them read.

Haha @ scheduling book appointments! My calendar is not used for anything so I think using it for book appointments sounds like a good idea.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Juliana, Esther & Sarah (and anyone else who wants to join the buddy read for this)...

Re: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline - Assuming I am able to renew it one more time, I will have to read it by November 26th but if that doesn't work for you, I can just check it out again later. Esther, just let me know when your copy comes in and we can play it by ear after that.
