Kristie | 3595 comments Zara - I'm planning to read The Rosie Effect in November too. I could read it with you. When in November did you have in mind? Mid to late November would probably be better for me.

That would be great Kristie. How about mid November then. How about the 10th November start. I have been summoned for Jury Duty that day/week so I'm not sure whether I will get a great start on it. However, if it's anything like his first one I could probably have it read in a couple of days. LOL

message 403: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 3595 comments I have a couple that I'm reading right around the 10th already. Could we do the 15th? I'm not a fast reader at all, but I'll do my best!

The 15th sounds perfect. I'll look forward to it. By the way, are you participating in the Tower Team challenge at all? If so, what team are you on?

Ahem I would also love to join this! ;) However, I can do it only in January, same problem as Anita. I have to use November and December to finish my existing challenges! So if you guys are reading before that, go ahead - will try and catch up in January :)

I'm in the team called 'Soaring Eagles'. Eagles are probably my most favourite bird. Especially the wedge-tailed Eagle.

It is indeed a beautiful bird.

Here it is:

You see these birds a lot along the Eyre Highway in Australia especially after a fresh kill of kangaroo.

Kristie | 3595 comments Very pretty bird!

message 411: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments Would it be okay with everyone to start the The Lord of the Rings trilogy in January? Maybe January 5th?

message 412: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments @Jesse - I can start in December, if that works. I just know some others said they wouldn't be able to start until January. But, I think we are allowed to join in a little later than the "official" start date and discuss so that might work out too?

It's hard to fit everyone in. :D
How about we start somewhere middle December and then you and Srividya join in January? You'll still get points since it's two of you.

That sounds perfect Tea. :)

message 416: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments Haha sorry everyone!! I was just trying to find a good month for everyone. I think Tea is right, if we start middle December, people can join in anytime after that for discussion.

Sorry about the confusion about the months!

How does December 18th sound? (just randomly picked this date)

message 417: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments I can start late december, too. Will we start with the fellowship of the ring, or start with the Hobbit?

message 418: by Rebecca (last edited Oct 27, 2014 06:12AM) (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments @Anita - I would be happy to continue discussions with you if you start at a later date. I actually already read the first of this series last month, but am excited to discuss it with everyone.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3792 comments Anita said "I can start late december, too. Will we start with the fellowship of the ring, or start with the Hobbit? "

Hmmm that's a good point! I have read The Hobbit but would be totally happy joining in the conversation with those who are reading it now! It's up to you all :)

message 420: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 1160 comments I am also fine with the later part of December. 18th sounds doable to me, give or take a couple of days. This will be a second time read for me but as its been years since I last read it, I am really looking forward to reading it and discussing it.

@Rebecca - Am okay with any time frame for the three books.

I haven't read The Hobbit although I have read LoTR! :( So, if we are starting with that, it would be great but I am okay with directly reading LoTR as well!

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments RebeccaS wrote: "Also, how long should we space out the 3 books? "

Week? :P
Just joking. Let's see how long we'll need to finish fellowship.
18th sounds good. It's going to be busy few days for me (I need to bake me a cake :P) but I'll have time for reading. Maybe just little slower.

And I'm ready to discus with latecomers too, just it won't count for Anita since we are in same team.

@Anita
No Hobbit this time, at least for me. You can read it too, and someone will drop by to talk to you I'm sure. Thread is already there.

Woohoo!

I'll read it with you, Greta. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get a copy from the library, though.
When did you want to start?

message 438: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments I really am not in a huge rush :-) there was one other person who responded on the thread & she is waiting for if from the library too.

Definitely! I was actually thinking of mentioning it until I saw that you and Danielle were already discussing it. I just unpacked it last night and put it on my bookshelf. That must be fate :D.
