Task 30.12, Wayne's Task: Canada 150!
On July 1st, we Canadians will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the founding of our great country! You can help us celebrate by completing 2 of the following options. Because this will be a huge celebration, the total page count for the two options must be at least 600 pages.

Option 1: Another term for a 150th anniversary is sesquicentennial. Read a book by an author whose first, last, and any middle initials are found in the word SESQUICENTENNIAL. Letters may only be used as often as they appear in the word.
Not Quite a Lady by Loretta Chase (380 pages)

Option 4: One of my favorite Canada Day activities, but which I will be especially looking forward to participating in this year, is the Living Flag picture. People either stand in the red part of the flag wearing a red shirt or in a white part of the flag wearing a white shirt (T-shirts are supplied for the first 3000 arrivals). Once everyone is set up, a photographer takes an aerial photo of us happy, cheering Canadians. Then, the picture appears in the local newspapers the following day! I can honestly say I've been on the front page of both our papers! Read a book with a cover that is at least 50% red/white. Both red and white MUST appear on the cover, however, it does not matter how much is red and how much is white, as long as the total is 50%.
Don't Tempt Me (Fallen Women, #2) by Loretta Chase by Loretta Chase (384 pages)

Total pages for 30.12: 764

Task 30.14, Brooke TX's Task: SRC vs. SRC
For this task, you can read one or two books, but the total number of pages read must be at least 600. For the two book option, you can choose two different options or read two books that fulfill the same option.

Option 1: Kids, teens, adults - pretty much everyone participates in the Summer Reading Club for the prizes. Read a book by a single author whose first and last name initials can be found in the phrase "IN IT FOR THE BOOKS."
Blood Memories by Barb Hendee (243 pages)

Option 4: This year, the adult summer reading is actually the most fun! We designed a little mini SRC-esque challenge: 5 different bookmarks, each with 5 different challenge tasks, like "Read a biography" or "Read a book with a blue cover." Adults read their books, write the titles on their bookmarks, and return them to be entered in a grand prize drawing. Read a book by a single author whose first and last name initials can be found in "GRAND PRIZE WINNER".
Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer (432 pages)

Total pages for 30.14: 675

Hello! I just joined the challenge, so I have several tasks to claim for the season. As of this post, my readerboard name has been requested but not yet added to the list, just fyi.

15.3 - Common Good. Read a book whose author's first name starts with J, M, R, A, D, C and whose last name starts with R, M, W, B, C, S.

I chose option 2 - read one book that satisfies both of these requirements. The Tricking of Freya by Christina Sunley.

15.5 - Scan It. Read a book where all the letters of UPC can be found in the title.

La tragédie du Roi Christophe by Aimé Césaire.

15.9 - Slaying Dragons. Read a book that has been shelved at least 3 times on list of "Popular Dragons Books."

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling. This book was shelved 600 times and can be found on page 1 of the list.

This book qualifies for a Bigger is Better ticket (but not quite two!) with 734 pages.

20.3 - Best Review. Read a book which has at least 1,000 reviews on Goodreads (Option B).

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. This book has 28,477 reviews as of now. This book (and I'm somewhat surprised) also falls within the "children's" genre, so here are the AR stats: IL: MG - BL: 7.2 - AR Pts: 44.0.

This book qualifies for two Bigger is Better tickets at 870 pages.

Task 30.10 - Andy P's Task: Calendar Boy

This is a two book task. One book should fulfill the requirement for Book 1, the second for book 2. The total page count for the two books should be 500 or more pages.

Book 1. Read a book written by a single author whose initials can be found in Either the word AUGUST OR in the word BONUS, NOT a combination of both words.

The Last Chronicle of Barset by Anthony Trollope. AugusT (890 pages)

Book 2. Read a book whose title(subtitles are excluded) contains ALL the letters in the word PARTY. The letters do NOT have to be consecutive although they may be.

How to Escape from a Leper Colony by Tiphanie Yanique. How To escAPe fRom a leper colonY (182 pages)

I am claiming 2 BB Tickets and a GO Ticket for The Last Chronicle of Barset. It has 890 pages and was first published in 1867.

Books meet minimum requirement of 500 pages: 890 + 182 = 1072 pages.
