25.1 JustMe’s Peace Corps Task
Option 1. Choose a country from the list: Tanzania
Choose a service area from that country: Agriculture
Choose a book from that service area: Never Out of Season: How Having the Food We Want When We Want It Threatens Our Food Supply and Our Future by Rob Dunn
“Read a nonfiction book to assist you in your 'chosen service area' (above) and explain how it is useful or why you chose it”: As the blurb for this book claims, it deals with “the crops we depend on most and the scientists racing to preserve the diversity of life, in order to save our food supply….” So it is not only a book of warning, but a suggestive primer on what to do about the situation. Therefore, it fits the task, I hope.
Option 2. From JustMe’s 5* list. From p 4 of the list, Hallowed Circle by Linda Robertson
Page numbers: Never Out of Season = 336 pp
Hallowed Circle = 384 pp
Total = 720 pp > required 400

Book 1. Read a book written by a single author whose initials can be found in Either the word AUGUST OR in the word BONUS, NOT a combination of both words. ALL initials count so if an author writes under initials plus last name, all THREE initials must be found in the target word.
I read Lincoln in the Bardo, whose author, George Saundershas initials in the word auGuSt.
For example, a book by Stephen Booth (Bonus) OR Aline Templeton (August) would work but Neil Gaiman (N in Bonus, G in August) would not.
Book 2. Calendar Boy Sammy is a Miniature Poodle who is very smart but like many poodles he has little interest in learning a new skill unless it is fun.. So, read a book whose title(subtitles are excluded) contains ALL the letters in the word PARTY
The letters do NOT have to be consecutive although they may be.
Examples:
Luncheon of the Boating Party - Party as a word
The Far Empty - the fAR emPTY
I read The Dinner Party. The word party is intact in the title.
Lincoln in the bardo was 343 pp; The Dinner party was 304 pp. These add up to 647.

Option 4: This year, the adult summer reading is actually the most fun! We designed a little mini SRC-esque challenge: 5 different bookmarks, each with 5 different challenge tasks, like "Read a biography" or "Read a book with a blue cover." Adults read their books, write the titles on their bookmarks, and return them to be entered in a grand prize drawing. Read a book by a single author whose first and last name initials can be found in "GRAND PRIZE WINNER".
