I think better late than never ; Thanks Shamber!

Our goal is to finish all the mini challenges. Maybe we can try to complete the "EGGS" , that is to complete each individual task (24 in total). We get 5 points for each egg that gets completed.

Currently it looks like the Spell-it-outs are filling in, so maybe start with those and then we can move on. It will be important to fill in the last column on our worksheet, so as captain/co , Teddie and I can rearrange for maximum pointage!

This is our last month/challenge for the Uno game!

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Thanks everyone!

I know April has been busy :)

For the Easter Egg Hunt - if possible, would you look and try to read for the trickier tasks? We'll have more flexibility filling in a letter task than a "Book set in Germany" task, for example.

Also, if any other 2 Bones teammates want to join me revisiting their pasts, I'm going to reread Winnie the Pooh - it works for all 3 tasks of Egg #19 :) thanks guys!

Trinia | 935 comments I've started Finding Dory The Junior Novelization (Disney/Pixar Finding Dory) by Suzanne Francis , it should fit in a bunch of tasks.

I also borrowed winnie the pooh from the library!

Trinia | 935 comments Hey Team, Please don't get nervous on our Easter Egg Hunt spreadsheet. I've been trying to rearrange to maximize our points. If you can't find a book, I moved it to another location that you put as an alternate task. If I make a mistake, please let me know! Thanks all!

I put it under witches for now on the spreadsheet, as it completed that egg task ;)

message 521: by Shamber (new)

Shamber | 151 comments Yes it is quite the undertaking! that's part of the reason I haven't started the Dark Towers series. If you watch the show, the first few seasons are pretty spot on with the books.

Thanks for working the spreadsheet so master-mindfully!! :)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 94 comments Question for our fearless leaders. It looks like I'm going to be reading Cloak and Dagger (The IMA, #1) by Nenia Campbell this week. When I look at the book, I say white cover. When Tineye looks at it, it says grey color. Since we have both slots in the eggs, which place should I put it?

message 523: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments I'll say start with white, put the grey cover number in the last column as a reminder . That make sense?
From my phone it looks like a grey one is filled in.

Yeah, it is. I saw that when I rechecked. Oh well, maybe it will fit something else.

message 525: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments I think it passes for white. Sometimes that tineye is wonky ;)

message 526: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments Hey Team! The Reality is setting in! Just one week left in Uno... Let's see what we can cram in for this last week... please stop by the spreadsheet and pick some books to read. Remember anything over 100 pages is accepted!

Please comment on the thread , stop by say Hi! Soon it's time to say goodbye :(

message 527: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 94 comments Howdy. I moved my book Sheltered to one of its other slots. The page numbers for the edition I read is listed wrong on GoodReads, and I don't want there to be an issue. Plus there wasn't any other book listed in that egg, and I think where I moved it we can get filled. Let me know if I messed up. :)

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments Hi team! I know I haven't been very active on the thread for this challenge, but I have really enjoyed playing Uno with you all!! This has been a totally fun challenge for me. I'll probably get in at least 5 more books before the game ends.

I wish you all the best after we move on from Uno! :)

Hey Michelle! You have been doing a great job reading all of those books! We've had a quiet team, but I think we were all busy doing our reading :D
This is a fun challenge and I'm so glad to have met everyone! It looks like we will possibly run into each other in other challenges too. I've seen some of your names already ;)

Lol - we may be quiet, but we be mighty in the homestretch! :)

A few eggs that still need 1 more book:
- book with a decorator
- book where MC works in a church (a couple of the Sookie Stackhouse books could work for this I think.)
- book with President as char - the Hunger Games books should work for this, if anyone wants to read one of those?

I have a book with a garden, but I'm not positive I'll get to it.

message 534: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments I'm thinking of reading The Program (The Program, #1) by Suzanne Young for a book with a white cover.
Then we would only need a book with a rabbit on the cover. Anyone have one of those?? lol

message 535: by Teddie (last edited Apr 24, 2017 01:20PM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Or, if someone has another book with an Animal as a main character, we can move Trinia's book from #91 to that second rabbit task. (BTW, 2 rabbits on the covers tasks? That's just mean. )

Looking at YOU Annika ;)

message 536: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments LMAO! Teddie! That GIF!!! HAAAAAHHHHAAAA! That's a twofer for sure.... just like those rabbits!

message 537: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments I found 2 shorty audiobooks on my amazon prime list.
Timeless Tales of Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit and Friends by Beatrix Potter which is 3h 31 mins
or
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Narrated by Scarlett Johansson, for 2 hr 44 mins.... I'm not sure this one is long enough??? I will look for a link... anyone familiar with it?

message 538: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Not sure about Alice's Adventures, but the audiobook version of Winnie the Pooh that I'm listening to - the narrator's rendering of Piglet oinking sounds more like Piglet... with flatulence. It kills my kids as I drive them to school - bonus! lol

message 539: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments Lol! I thought that was hysterical too!!! I imagined the narrator sitting there tooting :D
I've started Timeless tales of Beatrix Potter. Never read these books as a kid ;)

message 540: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 94 comments I maaay be able to squeeze one more book in, but I hate to take a spot until I know for sure in case someone else has something. I'll keep checking on the sheet.

message 541: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 94 comments I found a shortish cozy mystery with a designer -- and cheap on kindle :) --so I'll take that one. I have a France book too, but its longer so let me make sure I can get that one done before I sign up for it.

Thanks everyone for making this such a fun un-stressful challenge. I have enjoyed playing and contributing while not feeling like I HAD to get a certain book done. :)

I'm glad you've had fun - I've really enjoyed this UNO too, and made some new friends who I'm sure I'll be seeing in future challenges :)

A little over 4 days left to UNO 2017:
Countdown to the end of UNO

message 543: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments Tomorrow I should finish The Program (The Program, #1) by Suzanne Young for White Cover task.
I'm going to read The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins for the task where a character is a President.
There's a chance I can get 1-2 more in after those.
Otherwise, I'll be done too...

I've really enjoyed this game too! I can't believe how fast it went... Keep an eye out for me in other challenges ;D I'll be playing!

message 544: by Shamber (last edited Apr 27, 2017 12:18PM) (new)

Shamber | 151 comments I can probably squeak in one more by month's end - I can read either The Reader by Bernhard Schlink (book in Germany/line 24, "S"/line 13, 7 & 2 in page count/line 22) or The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman ("N"/line 15, "S"/line 13) or A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway ("A"/line 14, set in France/line 57)....which would be best awesome leaders??

I would say A Moveable Feast, then if Treavor doesn't finish his book , we can still complete that egg. And if he does finish, we can always move it to a spell it out task ;D

message 546: by Shamber (new)
