Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Ok, one last request:

When we were moving everything around in that Part 2 section earlier, we were just going by the Other Letters available, but didn't update the Reason column with them yet. If you have time and can access the sheet, would you update the Reason field if needed? (Anything that's not updated we'll fix over the weekend as necessary. )

Thanks!!

Actually, I just noticed Michelle finished Station Eleven, so I'll save Coraline for April :)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments For those on phones, here is where we stand to finish off the month:

Teddie: A Promise of Fire
Trinia: Slave
Elizabeth: Side Jobs, Death by Petticoat
Stacey: Ego Maniac, Captive
Billy D: The Stranger in the Woods
Shamber: Persuasion, Stardust
Victoria: Changes

As always, if you think you may run into a snag finishing anything, just let us know! (Unless you're Billy D, about whom we have NO worries at all :D )

No worries Shamber! Thanks for checking in :)

message 413: by Billy "D" (new)

Billy "D" | 52 comments Trinia, when you're bored, take a look at The Martian. If you remember you added that to the sheet for me along with the characters. I added two more characters but the originals disappeared.

message 415: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 387 comments I have several Mercy books to add (i've gone a bit crazy with my reread) and I'll add them late this afternoon. I haven't checked the spreadsheet, but I should be able to fill in some (if any) that is left.

Awesome - I like that series too - always consistently fun :)

Are you finishing Changes today or do you want us to swap a few things around? No problem either way.

message 422: by Victoria (last edited Mar 31, 2017 04:58PM) (new)

Victoria | 387 comments I just managed to update the spreadsheet (I definitely went crazy with Mercy audiobooks this week). For what I still see pending on the list we can use:

M - char: Mercy; Bone Crossed
A - char: Adam; Silver Borne
E - char:Elizaveta; Frost Burned OR F - Frost Burned

Edit: E - char: Ebenezor; Changes

We can of course just save these for next month as well =)

(sorry i wasn't able to update sooner)

message 423: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 387 comments I'll check in again before going to sleep and make sure I have all my books properly shelved. If you see any mistakes I may have made just let me know.

message 424: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 94 comments Since Victoria has that lovely A just sitting there waiting to be used... I'm going to be tight to finish Captured -- fell asleep on my reading time last night-- so maybe we should go ahead and use Adam.

message 425: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments Will do! Then you can save that one for April :)

message 426: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 387 comments I thought I'd provide some last minute assistance if needed :)

(Especially since I have not been good at updating the spreadsheet with my completed books...)

And we can always use what's left of my books for next month!

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments Help! I accidentally closed the spreadsheet and the only link I can find is the official one...not the one we all enter our books onto.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm sure I've probably overlooked it even though I've been looking for 5 minutes. LOL

message 428: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments Michelle- go to the first page of our thread. I think the link is there. Sorry, I'm on my phone , can't look right now

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Ok - with Billy's book, we are closed for business for March.

We filled all of our hands and will be getting the maximum points for the mini challenge!

GREAT JOB TEAM BONES!

At this point, any books you finish tomorrow and on will go toward our April books. (Books marked Read in March must go toward March tasks.). :)

Trinia | 935 comments Elizabeth wrote: "I have a red 8 and a green 2 in the works!"

I checked the spreadsheet and it looks like the red 8 has been claimed already by Stacey. But I've put your name and title under the green 2. (look under the April Hands tab).

message 436: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments No problem! We can definitely use it ;D

message 437: by Shamber (new)

Shamber | 151 comments I've added a couple of books for the month for me.

message 438: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1011 comments Happy April! How's everyone doing?

We're off to a good start on our April hands - most of you have added a book or so to the planning sheet. If not, or if you can't get to the sheet, let us know and we'll update the sheet.

Also, we have 2 color / cards that still need to be claimed:

1 Yellow
9 Green

Who's up for the challenge! :)

message 439: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 94 comments I can fit One Night with a Hero (The Hero, #2) by Laura Kaye in somewhere if you think that's yellow enough. I have The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey on my pile as well, but that one's a little longer, and unless I can fit it into another challenge as well, might be tougher for me to get to.

message 440: by Shamber (new)

Shamber | 151 comments @ Michelle - I see you are reading The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story. I'd love to hear your opinion when you are finished. :)

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments Shamber wrote: "@ Michelle - I see you are reading The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story. I'd love to hear your opinion when you are finished. :)"

I've already finished. It was good but had potential to be great. It is non-fiction and the author frequently referred to archival info, which was fine...but then she would go right back into sort of strange animal stories, like most people in the book had an animal nickname. It just seemed scattered. I guess she wanted to keep the book a little on the lighter side considering the time in history she was writing about. Somehow, it just didn't flow well for me. That was a bummer since I so wanted it to be a great book!!

Have you read it yet?

message 442: by Shamber (new)

Shamber | 151 comments I have not read it. I was considering it because I saw a trailer for the movie. That's unfortunate it was scattered. Thanks for sharing! :)

Billy "D" | 52 comments Ok , just added a green and a couple more. Busy is not the description for my life at the moment. Two lacrosse teams, three soccer teams and a softball team all at once. Uggggh! Happy Spring friends........ and I only have two kids!

Stacey if you decide against either of these I could read Ghost (Track, #1) by Jason Reynolds . It's #1 in a series and a shortie.

message 446: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 387 comments I don't have any good color books at the moment. But I can always find some.

And I'm really excited for Spring! I have so many outdoor activities to plan! (reading outside counts as an outdoor activity, right?)

Yes, reading is definitely an outdoor activity ;D Isn't that why the Kindle paperwhite was invented????

In all seriousness, does everyone agree with the Kindle paperwhite? I own 4 Kindles, is the paperwhite my answer? I can't seem to get past the feel, smell and sound of a book.

message 449: by Trinia (new)

Trinia | 935 comments Love my paperwhite !!! No glare in the sunlight. Proved it's worth at my son's baseball game this weekend ;)
I also read on a tablet and kindle fire- terrible glare.
A real book... negatives :
*Heavy for my small/old hands
*No Dictionary when you press on the word
*NO Built in light for night reading.

Need I say more ? ;)

message 450: by Shamber (new)

Shamber | 151 comments haha I also love my kindle for the no glare and how light it is! I do love a good ole book sometimes though.

@Billy - I feel ya! i just finished a few weeks of: mon bowling, tues softball, wed softball, & thurs volleyball. I've slowed down a bit for a few weeks.

Enjoy everyone! :)
