I rolled a 5 and selected option 3.

Option 3 - HISTORY

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr by Anthony Doerr

The buildings from the walled city of Saint-Malo, France, are visible on the cover.

Anthony Doerr is a Goodreads Author.

Option 5: SCIENCE & NATURE
What is a Portuguese man-of-war? A: an invertebrate sea creature with a nasty sting.

The One & Only by Emily Giffin, moved from 30.5.

The author's initials, E.G., are found in PORTUGUESE.

Task 30.5 - In Pursuit of a Good Book (2) (REPLACEMENT)
Option 4: Art & Literature

(NO CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS POST)

Option 6: Sports & Leisure
Keep Quiet by Lisa Scottoline, replacing The One & Only by Emily Giffin, moved to 25.12.

This book is a good summer read because it is a fast-paced mystery which also incorporates family and marital relationships, and is a fast read.

10.10 Required Summer Reading
I read The Beautiful American, with Literature>20th Century as a main page genre.

25.4 - Coralie's Task: World Cup Past and Present
I chose option 1 - World Cup Past
In 1982, the World Cup was held in Spain and Italy was the winner.
Book A - I read The Time of the Dark, first published in 1982.
Book B - I read The Birth of Venus, set completely in Italy.

30.8 - Sandy's Task: Concentration!

I read 2 books with the noun "conspiracy" in the title/subtitle, neither with the genre "children."

For my first book, I read The United States of Paranoia: A Conspiracy Theory, with 434 pages, thus meeting the minimum page requirement.

For my second book, I read A Conspiracy of Faith, with 504 pages, thus meeting the minimum page requirement.

Deedee | 2344 comments Task 25.12 - A Trivial Challenge

OK so this post will replace my post #1088. I rolled the die and came up with a “3”. Neither of my original books posted for this was a “3”.

3. HISTORY - Read a book with a building on the cover. Exteriors only, not interior rooms. Skylines and city scenes are OK.

Top half of this cover has a house, complete with porch, windows and a roof

The Last Policeman by Ben H. Winters
The Last Policeman (The Last Policeman #1) (2012) by Ben H. Winters (Goodreads Author) (Paperback, 336 pages)

**** Goodreads Author ****Ben H. Winters

Choose a different option for your other book. I’ll choose Option 5:

5. SCIENCE & NATURE - Read a book with the Author's initials found in PORTUGUESE in any order. Middle names excluded.

P O RTUGUE S E

God's Bits of Wood (1960) by Ousmane Sembène; (translated by Francis Price) (Paperback, 248 pages)

Task 20.5 - Celebrating My Parents

I did option A and read a book set in Australia:

The Ghosts of Ashbury High by Jaclyn Moriarty

The setting is not evident on the main book page, but the first book in the seriesFeeling Sorry for Celia shows the setting as Australia and all the books take place at the same school.

At 480 pages, this book definitely makes the 250 page threshold for this task.
