I love his books Bette. You will need to read The Prisoner of Heaven, which is the 3rd book in The Cemetery of Forgotten Books.

When I saw Carlos Ruiz Zafón 2 years ago, he said there will be 4 books in the series.

I am still reading History of the Rain slowly because you have to enjoy every single word! Ruth is an amazing character.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Let Me Die in His Footsteps is shaping up to be a 5★ read, although I still haven't worked out where the title comes from.....

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I've picked up The Shifting Fog, or The House at Riverton as it's known in AU, by Kate Morton.

I re-read this novel in early 2014 but since I've had book-amnesia, currently it reads like a new book to me!

Happy to see someone else likes to find the words of, or see where the title comes from. I don't feel happy with the book until I do!

message 14311: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) @Mish Very happy that there will be a Cemetery Of Lost Books #4 by Ruiz Zafon.

message 14312: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments And I still haven't figured it out, Bette. I may just have to ask the author...

message 14313: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments No, I had no idea it was a song title. Will have to look that up, then it might make more sense. Thanks, Rita!

message 14314: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Actually, that song title is "let me die in MY footsteps". Not sure, having read the lyrics, that it is related.

message 14315: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) @Marianne "To what does the title Let Me Die in His Footsteps refer?
It's inspired by a Bob Dylan song written during the Vietnam War. To me, the song was about not succumbing to fear or prejudice. To do so is to put ourselves into a figurative grave before we actually die. The title refers to a certain character in the novel."

This is so not me but I am going to do a big DNF on my current read A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. I just can't go on. It is awful. I am not going to waste my life reading something I dislike so much. Moving on to better things:)
