I like vampires but this particular series never said "Read me" to me. Maybe I should have a look at it:)

Not something I would have picked either, but nothing like the Twilight series. A friend got me onto these, and, as I said, addictive. I also read the offshoot series, Fallen Angels. And you do need to start at the beginning, or it makes a lot less sense.

Excellent idea from Veronica. It's one that all my overseas groups use and works really well.

Tango | 290 comments About three quarters through Outlander and it is really loooong. With very little reference to the whole time travel thing, really just historical romance which is not really my usual genre. Must finish it soon.

Carolyn | 9836 comments I'm 2/3 way through The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen and the tension is building so much I'll explode if something doesn't happen soon! Hard to put the book down now and start the working day.

K | 1143 comments I have been very slow with my reading lately due to more separation drama. I am reading these three right now: The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton (finally!), City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6) by Cassandra Clare and Reign (An Unfortunate Fairy Tale, #4) by Chanda Hahn .

Sally906 | 86 comments I have just finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman - which I really enjoyed, and have almost finished The Ship by Antonia Honeywell which is a YA Dystopian at the start - but it fast turning into a Utopian novel, which is a society that is not much better! Anyhow, I've now picked up two more books Thin Blood by Vicki Tyley and The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory

message 14534: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 22 comments I just started reading Earthly Delights (Corinna Chapman, #1) by Kerry Greenwood by Kerry Greenwood a couple of days ago. My Mum has always been an enormous Kerry Greenwood fan and has read all of her Phryne Fisher books as well as all of the Corinna Chapman ones, but I've not really tried her out. I think thats because she's quite hard to get here in the UK. But I am loving it! It is so nice to have some specifically Australian humour (the description of "forearms like Shane Warne" is one I appreciated).

I am going to have to resist buying the next in the series because they cost about £12.00 a book here ($24.00 which is really expensive. Most books here cost £6.00) and my Mum has the entire series back in Adelaide. But how am I going to be able to wait until October??

message 14535: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 79975 comments Mod
They are expensive aren't they Nancy! Unless you can pick up copies at the second hand shops over there? Even here though they're hard to come by!

message 14536: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Alexander (nicole_alexander) | 98 comments I'm a bit over half-way through Shadow on the Crown by Patricia Bracewell. A story of the Normans and Danes in the 1100s it's kept me turning the pages.

message 14537: by Tracy (last edited Jul 10, 2015 04:49PM) (new)

Tracy I'm about 1/3 of the way through The Calvanni by Chris McMahon for review. A truly appalling cover, yet turning into a very good read. Detailed world building and politics.

I also took a sneek peek at my next ARC The Contrary Tale of the Butterfly Girl: From the Peculiar Adventures of John Lovehart, Esq., Volume 2 I REALLY shouldn't have, as it's as wonderful as I thought it would be and I foresee a weeked of little writing and LOTS of reading....
