“I am in complete agreement with you – and it is on the basis of the substance of your assertions that I placate my conscience, for I have always prided myself upon my honesty.”
Margaret Lynette Sharp, An Auspicious Day in Derbyshire

“Miss Darcy took little convincing of its aptness, though lamenting the postponement of her time with Elizabeth.”

“Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.”
Groucho Marx, The Essential Groucho: Writings For By And About Groucho Marx

“Lord, when I feel that what I'm doing is insignificant and unimportant, help me to remember that everything I do is significant and important in your eyes, because you love me and you put me here, and no one else can do what I am doing in exactly the way I do it.”
Brennan Manning, Souvenirs of Solitude: Finding Rest in Abba's Embrace

“Keep track of your soul, Madison. Never compromise. Or you'll live the rest of your life regretting it--until it consumes you.”
B.J. Kurtz, The Lord of Nightmares

“Good writing is good writing. In many ways, it’s the audience and their expectations that define a genre. A reader of literary fiction expects the writing to illuminate the human condition, some aspect of our world and our role in it. A reader of genre fiction likes that, too, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of the story.”
