Hi Sally. I keep passing this one on the bookshop shelf and wondering if I should give it a go.... I think I might now.

★ Jess | 3071 comments Recently finished Before I Go To Sleep that took me a little while to get into but rushed through the last 200 or so pages. A bit flawed but just so entertaining. Sped through yet another re-read of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban & about to start Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the hundredth time.

Samantha (samjay73) Reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - Trying to finish reading it before I see the movie. If I watch the movie I won't finish the book. I find that I always need to read a book before watching the movie. Just doesn't work the other way around for me.

I'm enjoying Lane's End by Jill Paterson at the moment.

message 12355: by Dana (new)

Dana | 144 comments Just finished Never Never 4★. I was endeavering to finish my Summer reading challenge but my second to last book (A Madness of Angels) is starting off a bit slow for my liking so in need of some instant gratification I thought I would indulge in a short story that seems to be causing a ruckus of late.

Never Never (Never Never, #1) by Colleen Hoover is a more mature YA read. It is heavy on the will they? Won't they? Stuff but slightly sinister in the fact that the lead characters Charlie and Silas have no recollection of their memories prior to 11am (on the day the novel begins). Forgetting this was a short one the end came upon me just as I was hooked, I actually slammed my hand down on the armrest when I turned to the last page. Part two is not due to be released until May.....

Definately finish the book first Samantha, I think it will only enhance your experience of the movie.

This morning I finished my audiobook which I thought was called Rivers of London but appears to have been re-titled Midnight Riot by Ben Aaronovitch. It is book one in the Peter Grant series anyway!

It is called Rivers of London but the American version was retitled to Midnight Riot. Why this is necessary I am unsure, can anyone explain why they feel the need to do this? Is the word London offensive and therefore won't sell any books?

Carolyn | 9840 comments I've finished The Girl in the Photograph by Kate Riordan 4★.

A tragic mystery set in 1898, discovered by a young women in 1932 who has been shunted off to a country estate to have her illegitimate baby. Quite a long book and a bit slow, but well written and comes together nicely at the end so I did enjoy it.

Sarah I've just started House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It's every bit as creepy and eerie as it promised to be.

Teaghan | 15 comments I started on The Fever Treethe other day as a colleague gave it to me to read. As it's primarily set in South Africa I can use it for the reading challenge I'm doing ;) It's OK so far. I think I'm going to like it.

Over 700 pages of creepy eerie! :0

message 12369: by Sarah (new)

Sarah It's actually crazy too. There are words in colors other than black, different texts, some items are crossed out, or upside down or sideways. Some pages only have a word or sentence and apparently there's mirror writing somewhere in here. It's meant to look like a notebook that has been copied, pasted, taped, taken apart and put back together. It's like a work of art in a book. It's fascinating.
