Sarah I'm working on the 1300 page The Count of Monte Cristo, which I can luckily take a few months to do. Also The Children of Men and The Handmaid's Tale.

Oh, keep us up to date with your thoughts on The Count of Monte Cristo I have been debating the position of this on my TBR list (now/later).

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and I am currently reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Has anyone got any more suggestions of must read classics?

I love The Count of Monte Cristo :) Such a good story. I first read it as a teenager.

It really depends what you like MC... I'd suggest you have a browse through here - https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/4... - the top one on the list is one I absolutely loved! There are a lot of very old books on there too...

I read that a few years ago and I liked it, although I wouldn't say it rocked my world BUT it's one of those books that pops back into your head time and time again. In fact, I was thinking about it just this past weekend.

Sally906 | 87 comments My at work book with me here is This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman (Sci-Fi Adventure/Romance - I am also reading The Bellamy Bird by Clare Havens (Think Enid Blyton and Arthur Randsome with time travel) and Alistair Grim's Odditorium by Gregory Funaro (Children's steampunk)

All very good books and all vying for attention to be the number one priority book :)

John Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors but I still haven't read this. My favorite classics are East of Eden and To Kill a Mockingbird. Both are must reads :)

I did just read The Great Gatsby and I enjoyed it.
