I need some help here! I've been reading the crime series by Chris SimmsKilling the BeastsShifting SkinHell's FireSavage MoonOutside the White Lines The Edgeand up to Cut Adrift
I am after a spoiler because I can't wait to read it! I am a romantic at heart and just want to know if DI Jon Spicer reconciles with his wife Alice in this book? While it is very true to life that finding a balance between work and family leads to marriage break down I really would rather an ending that reflects something a bit cheerier (I know, I'm reading the wrong genre for that!) Any help would be great! Thanks!

I am a fan of Stephen King Sarah. Having said that his books are often very different to each other. His Gunslinger series is fantasy and one of my favourite series ever. But I enjoy his horror ones as well.

Just started The Gods of GothamI read the second book of the series first. This time I remembered to study the "flash" (criminal slang) dictionary first and mark it for referral. This one is set in 1845 with the formation of the NYPD

I just finished Arm of the Law by Harry Harrison and Conquest Over Time by Michael Shaara. I am now tossing up whether to read a librivox reading of Alcatraz by Max Brand or something by Leigh Brackett.
I am struggling with The Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory. I have really enjoyed other's by Philippa Gregory but this just hasn't gripped me as much so far. Also listening to Murder and Mendelssohn by Kerry Greenwood which I am loving.
Brenda wrote: "I finished The Fall by Amy Dale 4★sReview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show..."
Looked up Wiki as I momentarily couldn't place the names; read Amy Dale's newspaper article there. Followed that with Anita Cobby, as featured on same page. Chilling reading.

I finished my first book for this year, Incantation of Frida K., a few days ago, and oh my wordy lordy me, what a phenomenal start to the year! It made its way straight into my top ten all-time favourites, it is so astonishingly beautiful, I'm still struggling to find the words to describe it! Every sentence is a work of art. Definitely a 5★ read. The funny thing is that it's quite confronting in that Kahlo had to deal with a lot of pain and medical procedures in her life, and normally I hate reading about that sort of thing, but in this book, it didn't bother me at all. The language and emotion is just so uplifting. Highly recommended for fans of literary fiction.
Detailed review coming soon :-)
Finally got round to reading The Martian by Andy Weir and really enjoyed it. Can see why it won the 2014 SciFi category although I know that not everyone enjoyed the scientific explanations in it as much as me. Can't wait for the movie version due out later this year :)review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
