The answer is, I hope to have a new book out by 2017, and it will be in a similar vein as Descent, in that it will be a story about a number of characters brought together--as opposed to torn apart--by random acts of violence & one old, unsolved murder. Thank you for helping to spread the word about Descent--that makes all the difference in the life of a book!!!(less)

Thank you so much for reading Descent, and so sorry to take so long to answer your good questions! Once I began writing the book, I decided I would only work on it when I had the entire day to do so--starting early & writing for as long as I had the energy. As a carpenter, there weren't a lot of those days, which is one reason the book took me six years to write! I wrote mostly in whatever most comfortable chair or sofa of whatever place I was living in over that time, because the more comfortable I was physically, the longer I would stay where I was & keep writing.

Hope that answers your questions, and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the novel!

All best!

Descent by Tim Johnston
"Descent was on my to-read list for quite a while. The reason for this is unfortunate, and that is, once again, due to me being stymied by a mediocre average rating. Anytime I would look at it and scan reviews, I'd balk at the words lyrical, literary," Read more of this review »

The Current by Tim Johnston
"It’s been a while since I’ve read a five-star book. THE CURRENT by Tim Johnston definitely is one, though.

This book is outstanding. When it’s sad, it’s not just sad; it makes you want to cry. And so much is sad. But the story will still grab you and" Read more of this review »

“Long after everyone else has given up and gone home and gotten on with their lives, he would keep on believing because, without evidence, you could never kill his belief.”
Tim Johnston, Descent

“Did the mind break down or did it simply correct? Vectoring away from pain?”
Tim Johnston, Descent

“Here is a hilarious, surprising, tender, always genuine tale of American youth in the crosshairs of the new century--a battle of growing pains culminating in a bloody headlock with nature, family, machismo, activism, and love. CB Murphy has written a terrific and timely novel which speeds by and ends, like youth itself, far too quickly.”
