Sally906 | 87 comments I have just started Mister Owita's Guide to Gardening How I Learned the Unexpected Joy of a Green Thumb and an Open Heart by Carol Wall Mister Owita's Guide to Gardening: How I Learned the Unexpected Joy of a Green Thumb and an Open Heart by Carol Wall. It is non-fiction and I am enjoying the story so far - Carol Wall is writing about how she meets Giles Owita, but is also writing about her life past and present.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments sometimes you get a lot more than what you paid for! On Tues I got Mrs Queen Takes the Train by William Kuhn for $1, and I needed a fun read so I started it yesterday. Plenty of LOL in this one, as good as The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett but with more depth and longer, so more of it to enjoy!! I'm very pleased with my purchase......

message 7976: by Sharon (new)

Sharon | 5472 comments Thanks for the coin toss, Brenda and I'm sure I'll enjoy The Girl in the Yellow Vest.
Don't apologise for reading that's far more important :)

message 7977: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn Rykiert | 315 comments There are some interesting reads there. I have just finished The Spare Room by Helen Garner and I found it rather moving a quite a good read. I think it will make for a good discussion at our book club meet this week.

I find that I have not been reading a lot lately as I don't seem to quite have the time and I can no longer read for hours in bed just before going to sleep.

I am going to try a little harder this month to read some more.

There have been some interesting stories recently on this discussion list.

She is a fabulous writer - I have this one on my TBR pile and it is near the top so will read it soon. Being brought up in Nigeria I can relate to so much that she writes.

A great review too :)

Oh Dale it gave me the shivers. I've only seen movies about plane crashes, never read a book about it but this author captures the feelings and motion so well, it was frightening - and also the events that follow.
