Lily Malone is a journalist and freelance writer who discovered after years of writing facts for a living, writing romance was much more fun.

Lily juggles writing with the needs of a young family, and when she isn’t writing, she likes gardening, walking, wine, and walking in gardens (sometimes with wine).

She loves to hear from readers and you can visit Lily at www.lilymalone.wordpress.com; email her at lilymalone@mail.com or connect with her here on Goodreads or find and like her page on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/lily.lilymalone

I get incredible plot insight while I'm walking and the only trouble with that is, I don't have pad nor paper with me and usually by the time I get home I forget.
In bigger cases of WB, I've found writing things that don't have anything to do with my book helps. For example, a fan fiction serial called Coffeelandia which we do with my author group, www.naughtyninjas.net or even a blog post.
This year I wrote a completely unrelated short story of 3000 words. It wasn't a romance - it was a fairly dire topic actually - but it helped get the words flow on my next romance again. It's like tricking your body and brain into writing.

So far these have been in South Australia (Hahndorf, McLaren Vale and the South Australian outback for His Brand Of Beautiful and The Goodbye Ride) and more recently, Busselton and Margaret River in Western Australia for Fairway To Heaven. I like it when people say something about my descriptions and settings makes them want to visit the places where my books are set. It makes me feel like I've done a good job of translating a place to the page.(less)

Best book by far. I really liked this one and thought the introduction of addiction and 'warmweed' is a great inclusion for young readers. It's what my son remembers most about this book. He said: 'that's the one where Will is useless because of the ...more

I have mixed feelings on this one. I found the start very slow. But then everything happened all at once and from the time Gilan, Horace and Will entered Celtia I was hooked. Great twist at the end!

Tiny White Lies by Fiona Palmer
"Tiny White Lies by Australian writer Fiona Palmer was a captivating reading that I had a hard time putting aside. The story covers a wide range of topics including bullying, mental illness, family, love and friendship.

I really enjoyed this. Like, The Dry, I think Jane Harper makes the most of her setting, turning the setting into another character and conflict in this novel. I like the continued emergence of Falk as a character. I think it is a real skill how Harp ...more

I loved this. No surprises there - I adore Penelope Janu's writing.
