What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)

Thanks. I'll bear that in mind. Maybe I'll just start at page 20. ;P"
Lol great idea :)

Me, too, Kathryn! I'm not one to stick with a book that drags.

I do stick with them, in the hope that I will get to a point where it all gets better…! Sadly, I'm often disappointed in this! But I hate to just give up on it - just in case!

Haven't started it yet, Brenda. But I promise I'll persevere with it once I start. :)

I feel like I must have missed something…! I wonder if my copy of the book had parts missing...

That is what struck me too Marianne, the beautiful writing!

What happens when you click on this link?

I have a feeling there are two titles for the same book. I'll go and have a look and be right back...

It must've been another book I was thinking of.

Don't worry, I feel like that about a number of popular books. :)

Kathryn, I felt the same. It was just ok for me until Max came on the scene, then it picked up. Afterwards, I thought, I must have missed something. But I find that so-so feeling with quite a few Y/A books.

Michael wrote: "No worries Brenda. Yeah you would think so. I had exactly the same problem with me looking for Justice For Sara and not being able to find it. Only realised about the title after seeing it here."
Goodreads picks up when they are one and the same book so Amazon should pick up that Justice for Sara is the same as Don't Look Back !!

Thanks, Michael. My memory isn't as bad as I thought it was after all. :)

A popular book by all accounts Alex:)

That's a very good sign Alex :)

Gorgeous writing by Ness:)

The Museum of Extraordinary Things by my guilty secret author Alice Hoffman.

I just started listening to the audiobook of this yesterday.
I was a bit unsure at first (had to skip the parts involving cruelty to animals), but liking it more as the main story unfolds.

Cambridge. I think I must have bought it at a
Lifeline Book Fair. It is a Virago Classic and
was first published in 1890. It is one of the
best written Australian books from that time
(that I have read). It is a romance but the
most interesting thing about it is the vivid
descriptions of the 1880 Melbourne Exhibition
and the Melbourne Cup. Even then, fashion and
being seen in the latest style was just as
important as the race.

I've got to say, disappointingly, it's not doing much for me at the moment:(
I have just finished The Memory Child by Steena Holmes and was completely blown away by this novel!

Wow - sounds great Brenda! Another one to add to my ever growing wish list....

I kept hoping the story would lighten up, but it didn't until the very end. Just morbid and depressing.
