A New York Times and International bestselling author, Erica Spindler's skill for crafting engrossing plots and compelling characters has earned both critical praise and legions of fans. Her stories have been lauded as “thrill-packed page turners, white- knuckle rides and edge-of-your-seat whodunits.”

Erica loves meeting and interacting with her fans, both in person and online. She has a wicked sense of humor, an optimistic spirit and loves coffee, chocolate and red wine, not necessarily in that order.

In 2002 her novel Bone Cold won the prestigious Daphne du Maurier Award for excellence. A Romance Writers of America Honor Roll member, she received a Kiss of Death Award for her novels Forbidden Fruit and Dead Run and was a four-time RITA® Aw

One winter day, walking my dog I noticed a spot of bright red peeking out the muddy embankment of a ditch. Intrigued, whenever I drove or walked by, I would look for the spot of red. Finally, I had to find out what it was. Armed with a shovel and wearing rubber boots, I went to find out. I unearthed a red, ladies, high-heeled pump. The hair at the back of my neck prickled. (I call this a Dark Gift moment) How did this shoe end up buried in our embankment? The suspense writer in me knew, someone had dumped a body in the lake and the tide had done the rest. I had other jumping off places for THE FIRST WIFE as well, but it was the first and the most fun.(less)

Fall Frights & More

Welcome to fall, ya’ll! I can finally say that with confidence, not because of the date on the calendar, but because we down here in The Big Easy had our first breath of cool air. Hallelujah!

I have big news to share—my new novel is done and sent off to both editor and agent. It’s very much a psychological suspense, with twists, turns and a surprise ending. I particularly love the relationship bet Read more of this blog post »

“Hard as nails Stacy Killian was one like one of those Tootsie Roll Pops - hard shell, soft, chewy center.

Once a guy knew the center could be chewed, that's what they did. Chewed you up and spit you out. Or swallowed you, bite by bite. Goodbye respect. Goodbye self-esteem.”

“The underlying notion of a world where the sane is insane”
Erica Spindler, Killer Takes All

“No matter how innocent the story being relayed to me is, I can twist it into something pretty damn frightening. I’ve learned the real trick is not sharing these versions with those relaying the story. It tends to make people avoid me.”
