message 652: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda @Dipanjan - wait, wait, I need to find something to hide my tail!

Dipanjan | 314 comments @ Amber - If I get scared, I bite.

@ DoodlePanda - Did you know that Pandas don't look for a place to sleep. They just fall asleep wherever they are. True fact.

message 654: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda @Dipanjan - I'm not sure why you are telling me this. As a 1/4 panda this is something I already know.Believe me, it has led to some awkward situations. Moving on.

Dipanjan | 314 comments @ DoodlePanda - ROFL. Touche!!!

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Created a chatroom(?) thread. It's called Chat Chat Chatter so we can add all of this humor there.

message 657: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda Excellent! :)

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 652 comments You can start one but the problem is you need people to just be, "hanging around" to have a casual conversation. We all drop in here to say hi to new folks, so we're here.

message 659: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda Being a goodreads addict I see no problem hanging both places... :)

message 660: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Schneider (jaschneider) Hi everybody!

Tap, tap, is this thing working? Okay...I'm Joyce aka J.A. Schneider from Connecticut, USA, & I've written the medical thriller EMBRYO series. I'm married, have two adult children, love reading & writing, period. Well, also gardening, but the other two are my passion, which has turned me into a wannabe hermit. In my more active days I studied at the Sorbonne, was an exchange student in the Soviet Union, got arrested there (for laughing with friends at their pea-colored drinking water, didn't know the room was bugged), and worked at Newsweek Magazine. I also know how to bark like a dog to keep the deer away from my roses. Cheers, everyone...happy to be here!! :)

Dipanjan | 314 comments Welcome Joyce. We have a Gulag here as well, and for all you know there's bugging too. Glad to have you here.

Tim The Enchanter | 397 comments Welcome all

@evelyn - you really did get an early start. We are the same age and I also have 3 kids. 6, 4, 2. You are dealing with the perils of high school while I'm potty training. Lol. Do you find more or less time for reading as your kids get older?

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Welcome Joyce and Evelyn. I feel like I really started late. My kids are 6,4,3 and I'm 36.

message 667: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (diaze) Lorrea,

Daniel (diaze) Audio books help a great deal.

Evelyn*My Redeemer* (MyRedeemer) More, the kids have their thing they do and I read so and my youngest loves reading so I can read when she read

message 673: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (diaze) My kids have their own things too, but as chauffeur and parent, their things tend to find a way to be my things.

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) Daniel wrote: "Audio books help a great deal."

You are right about that. It took me a while to get into them though.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 652 comments Hi anyone and everyone whos joined since I welcomed new folks.

I was just checking the tapes from the bugs in the lounge. Who was talking about urine colored drinking water....?

Andy Peloquin | 10 comments "Daniel wrote: "Audio books help a great deal."

I listen to audiobooks while driving and working out at the gym. It's the only way I can read as much as I want to.

Evelyn*My Redeemer* (MyRedeemer) Daniel wrote: "My kids have their own things too, but as chauffeur and parent, things tend to find a way to be my things."

Well yes there is that aswell lol!

Evelyn*My Redeemer* (MyRedeemer) Janet Sandhu wrote: "A Dorian Grayesque picture in the attic! Hideous!! ;-)"

I would absolutely love that, my own Dorian Gray Picture, although it would be a little bit creepy lol

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 652 comments Things like that always go wrong. You'd need one of those vault type fortresses to protect the painting and it would still get destroyed. All the books and movies say so.

message 689: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Walker | 2 comments Hi! I'm Sherri from Martinez, Ga. I'm 52 years old, been married to my sweetheart for 31 years. We've raised 4 fine sons, the last of whom is a Jr. In college. So now that I am practically an empty-nester,(except for my 3 FEMALE furbabies) I've gone back to reading the way I loved to before my life became a whirlwind of work, school, sports and daily chaos! I seem to gravitate toward series. I love Baldacchi, Lee Child's, James Patterson, and Harlan Coban but I've read other mystery authors too. I like a page turner. I tend to get bored easily if a book starts out too slowly. :)
