Or...bugs in the walls. *eg* Cats hear things we can't. They also see in a different color spectrum. So ghosts? *shrug* Guess it depends on what you call ghosts.
DianeAlice wrote: "I second that Mike! If only I could stop one-clicking on Amazon but it's a disease for which there's no cure..."I've got that disease too, must be an epidemic. Plus I get emails about all the free books and daily deals.

*s* You got distracted by the ghosts.
Rewan, you find find that most of the group is also afflicted with the book buying addiction illness. This venue is kind of a support group for hopeless book-buying junkies...A warning--this disease is highly contagious.

Hi Amy, welcome.Lorrea, surely you realize that cats can see many things we can't (well dogs and horses can to)....
And Luna generally rushes through the house (crossing across just above my head and down the wall beside where I sleep at about 3:00AM. I think ghosts are a better explanation.
:)
Hi, My name is S. Patrick Prate. I live on the California Central Coast where I share a house with my 89 year-old mother and the cat who adopted us. My hobbies include NASCAR, Football, cooking and church activites. I started reading by the time I was 2 years old and writing at 16. I read most of the books in our school library by the time I graduated, including the encyclopedia. My latest book, Death by Circumstance, A Trucker's Mystery, has recently been published on-line. I'm a retired truck driver and it's basically a fictionized version of my life on the road.I also belong to a writing club who meets weekly to read each other's stories and learn new things about the craft.
Hi again. I forgot to mention the latest book i'm reading. It's "The Feeling of The Earth", by Daniel Wilcox. It's a mix of genres, Mystery, History, Science-Fiction. It's hard to read at times because it's the earth viewed through an aliens eyes and Daniel has invented the language they speak. Even so, I find it hard to put down.

Hi Chris. Hmmm, getting lots of book addicts in one place and letting them run free, talking about books and how great buying books are seems like a bad way to run a support group. I think it's secretly a front for getting us all to buy more books. At least I'm now limited physically by space. No more books for me. What's that? Kindle Books? *Sigh*

Thanks Sean. Y'know, I had picked up on this small vibe that some people on this thread liked books a bit. It was quite subtle, and I really had to look for clues, but I realised what it was in the end ;)
DianeAlice wrote: "Hello! We seem to have a lot of cat lovers in the group so you're in good company!"If you look on Twitter for people who like reading, just going by everyone's bios it seems that there is a huge percentage of readers who are also cat lovers/mad.
I don't know if cats and books are connected, although I wouldn't put anything past those furry little masterminds...

And I thought my job was exciting... (-:

Hi! I'm Terri & I live in southern Alberta Canada (just east of Calgary). I'm a mother of 4 & wife of 1. My fave genre is the Medical/Psych Thriller w/ my fave authors being Cody McFadyen, Jillian Hoffman & Rick Mofina. On an interesting note, I'm just about done T.O.W.Y & I've loved it! Did many of you check out the "trailer" on You Tube? I've never seen a trailer for a book before & I think it's a brilliant marketing tool. If you've seen any others could you please let me know?Anyway, I've always known I talk a lot & apparently that transfers to my posts as well. I guess it's a good thing we all like to read a lot! ;p. One of my favorite features of Goodreads besides making new friends, is the opportunity to meet new authors & I've grown to love reviewing books. Being ASKED for my opinion is an added bonus! That's it i for now I guess. I'd love to get to know you better on the threads! Cheers!!
Ps: thx for the group invite Chris & I'm also owned (stole this phrase from a friend!) byn2 cats; Sweetness & Ham(22lbs at last weigh in!).

Welcome Girlfriend!!!
Let's hear it for the dogs too. I current have a 3 yr old Havanese named Charley and a 2 yr old Shihtzu name Blu. Aka.....Sir Charles and Lady Blu. Blu has one powder blue eye......and one big ole brown one.Prior to this, I had been owned by 6 cats, thru the years. I gotta say.....I prefer dogs!
Woof says my two!
Oh yeh......I forgot.......I also have a small parrot. Lola........she is a love, until she gets p.o.'d at me. She's a smartie pants!!!! I do wish I had gotten an African Gray tho. Good Lord........don't tell LOLA!
I have four kids. I could liken them to animals . . . . and frequently do!! ;-) Three goldfish is neither here nor there!
Hi Terri and Ter'e, welcome. (Oh I love cats, dogs, horses...whatever. People sometimes strain me but with God's help I'm okay with them to, LOL.)By the way, My name's Mike...but my middle name is Lynn...
My 6 year old 2 Labs (brothers) are sitting beside me, while I am on the computer. They definitely rule the nest, and my husband says sometimes they eat better than him!
No way!!!!Family name????

At least yours had imagination! Judy (ok, that's awful LoL) but Ter'e is awesome!
My real name is Magnhild (yes I know, shocker that my real name isn't DoodlePanda, right?!). It's an old Norwegian/viking name, I was named after one of my great-aunts :) Apparently it means 'strong one'.Edit: The difficulty in pronouncing Magnhild in English meant I went by 'Maggie' while I lived in England.
welcome terri. :) do you want us to call you doodlepanda or Maggie, doodlepanda? just curious. I'm just amber. lol.
Amber wrote: "welcome terri. :) do you want us to call you doodlepanda or Maggie, doodlepanda? just curious. I'm just amber. lol."I don't really mind :)
DoodlePanda, Panda, Doodle, Maggie, Nutter, Weirdo... It all works :P
OMG! My last puppy was a Shih Tzu named Charlie! I always say, whether a pet kitty, dog or Rock, they own our hearts & are as much a member of your family. I'd have to draw the line on the parrot tho, I'm scared of birds. It's a long story; don't judge me! Haha.If you liked Retribution, try Mitigating Circumstances by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg. It's a lot like Retribution but involves a mother & daughter. What are your faves?
Really...not DoodlePanda? I was picturing personalized stationary, towels with your name on them. It's a shock to find it's a nom de guerre....
