message 9501: by Lincoln (new)

Lincoln Phillips | 1 comments Good afternoon. I grew up reading sedate suspense books by British author Eric Ambler, moved on to Robert Ludlum and now read the Jack Reacher and Baldacci novels that my 94 year old mother reads on a regular basis. I am also a suspense novelist, although my latest book could best be described as literary fiction/suspense. I look forward to a robust and lively discussion and sharing of thoughts.

Tinsley | 2 comments Hi! I'm Tinsley and I've really wanted to dip my toes into trying to write my own thrillers. I have a couple ideas that are swirling around my head, and I just know reading other thrillers will help me with this goal. You have to write what you read and read what you write.

Dustin Hill | 2 comments Hi:
I’ve been a journalist for more than 30 years, mainly covering politics and business. I wrote a political thriller novel in 2012, but now stick to writing real news, which has various levels of thrills on any given day. I hope to find a little more time to read thrillers again.

message 9520: by pandapretzel (new)

pandapretzel | 3 comments Hi everyone! My name is Tara and I'm from the U.S. I'm new to Goodreads but I have been reading for a long time. I really only read thrillers apart from a few outliers. I'm a fast reader so I'm always updating my profile with reviews/ratings. Please feel free to add me, I would love to have more friends and check out all your recommendations. I don't have a favorite author (I find that I will love one of their books but not the others) but some of my all-time favorites are The Kind Worth Killing, Gone Girl, Verity (unpopular opinion?), and Look Closer.

message 9521: by Olexandra (new)

Olexandra Hello! I'm Olex from Slovakia.
I recently came back from a reading hiatus, and I dove back into thrillers, mysteries and crimes genres. Currently, I mostly read standalones thrillers such as Lucy Foley, Lisa Jewell, KarinSlaughter, Riley Sager etc. but I'm also a huge fan of Lisa Regan, M.J. Arlidge, Angela Marsons, Agatha Christie and more.
Thanks for having me. :)

Zoe | 1 comments Hello. Everyone I know calls me, 'Zo'. I'm from a big family, my siblings are all girls. We are a family of amatuer academics. My parents who met at university and then walked out, and my parents are incredibly wise, many years ago called university (universities), 'An institution of ideological fruit cakes.' I'm here to learn from what I read. Thrilling reads are on my menu, not outlandish thrillers. Recs anyone?
Ohh, yeah. Friends would be good!

message 9528: by Joseph (new)

Joseph Hamilton | 2 comments Hi Chelsea,
I recently picked up a book called something like “100 Thrillers You Must Read.” Perhaps it was (or should have been) appended with “Before You Die.” Each selection is by someone well qualified to make it, such as Stephen King. It’s co-edited by Frank Morelli, the author of Rambo. I found quite a few authors and novels I was not familiar with.

Joe

message 9529: by Mya (new)

Mya | 1 comments Hi, I'm from Finland.
I will be using Google Translate. I speak English, we all do, but spent my youth as far from books as I could. I am born to a cottage industry family, we make and sell, we grow and eat, we exchange.
It is Kindle that gives me the chance to read. They are a cost I can afford.
Book recommendations and friends would make me happy.
Thank you.

I am a mother of a soon to be 3-year-old kitty his name is Rumple, yes like Rumpelstiltskin his picture is my profile picture if you want to see him.

message 9532: by Mary (new)

Mary (msimmy327) | 2 comments Hello! I’m just getting into finding groups related to book recommendations. I’ve been on Good Reads for years and am now just figuring out how to actually use this app to my advantage 😂. I’ve always been an avid reader and within the last 2 months have read 43 books! I can be a very fast reader especially when I’m extremely into the book. So I’m always looking for the “couldn’t put it down” books. I’m in the suspense/psycho/thriller phase at the moment but need to throw in some not so intense reads to give my heart a rest. I’ve discovered a few authors that have promoted their books within the FB groups and not found yet in local libraries and have read some amazing books that I wouldn’t have known about had I not found that group. My TBR lists increase daily and my library requests end up being ridiculously long-last week I picked up 17 books at once and required 2 totes to carry out. The librarians know me very well and they aren’t surprised anymore by the amount of books I request.

message 9534: by Nina (new)

Nina | 3 comments Hello to everyone,

I’m in London and trying to keep my finances in the black while trying to survive in the big city, whilst I’ve given up on fantasy, sci-fi, rom-com, horror, witches and ghosts. Now, both non-fiction and fictional thrillers come first.

Please be my friend....

message 9536: by T.D. (new)

T.D. Severin | 7 comments Hello everyone, I'm T.D. Severin, an ophthalmic surgeon and author of my debut medical thriller. I'm a passionate reader, as my daughter-in-law once commented, I can't walk by a book placed anywhere, like a hotel lobby or bus stop, without picking it up and starting to read. That omnivorous pattern has led to a varied reading history, but I gravitate always towards thrillers, particularly Medical or Science based thrillers, like Michael Crichton, Tess Gerristen, Preston and Child, and others. Delving more and more into psychological thrillers now too.

message 9537: by B needs coffee (new)

B needs coffee | 144 comments Hello everyone! Mood reader here..and slightly picky in my reading choices. I love a good, thought provoking mystery. I cannot get into a mystery if it doesn’t hook me from the beginning. The same goes for a good thriller. I am a speed reader when I do sit down to read. And when I find a good story, I will finish it that day. I used to read a lot more than I do now. I am a retired nurse, but I stay super busy. I am a mom of 4 and nana to 3, so there is never a dull moment. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and reading your reviews. And if you find a novel you cannot put down, please recommend it to me. It may be just what I’m looking for!

Robert Brynza

message 9539: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Bisping | 1 comments Hi everyone!
I’m Tiffany—thrillers, mysteries, and suspense are my favorite escape (especially the ones with jaw-dropping twists or layered emotional stakes). I recently read Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier and couldn’t put it down—it reminded me why I love this genre so much.

When I’m not chasing after my kids or trying to read with one eye open past bedtime, I’m usually hunting for my next binge-worthy read. I’m excited to be part of this group and connect with fellow readers who appreciate a good plot twist as much as I do.

Feel free to say hi or send a friend request—I’d love to swap recommendations!

message 9540: by Joe (new)

Joe Paul | 1 comments Hi, glad to join your group. I'm Joe Nathan Paul, Thriller Author and avid reader. Very interested to get involved in the discussion about new Thrillers and how people perceive them. What do you all look for in a book?

message 9541: by Mackay (new)

Mackay Barr (mackaybarr) | 1 comments I'm an author living in central Alabama. I spend more time reading thrillers and horror novels than I probably should but I think I'm in the right crowd for that. Looking forward to the readings of this group and hopefully getting the next book to add to my list... Is anyone else's TBR list as long as mine!

message 9542: by MARIOS (new)

MARIOS | 1 comments Hi everyone! 👋
My name is Marios, and I’m really glad to join this group. I’ve always enjoyed horror — especially psychological horror and dark academia with a supernatural or historical twist.

I also love when a book combines folklore, archaeology, and theology in a way that feels both eerie and thought-provoking. Looking forward to discovering new recommendations here and sharing my own favorites with all of you!
