Rick Riordan
“I have lightning and wind powers," Jason reminded him. "Piper can turn beautiful and charm people into giving her BMWs. You're no more a freak than we are. And, hey, maybe you can fly, too. Like jump off a building and yell 'Flame on!'"
Leo snorted. "If I did that, you would see a flaming kid falling to his death, and I would be yelling something a little stronger than 'Flame on!”
Rick Riordan, The Lost Hero

Kelley Armstrong
“I let out a laugh that sounded more like the yip of a startled poodle. "Superp-powers? I wish. My powers aren't winning me a slot on the Cartoon Network anytime soon... except as a comic relief. Ghost Whisperer Junior. Or Ghost Screamer, more like it. Tune in, every week, as Chloe Saunders runs screaming from yet another ghost looking for her help."
Okay, superpower might be pushing it.”
Kelley Armstrong, The Summoning

Marissa Meyer
“There's no rule that says you have to be a prodigy to be a hero," she insisted. "If people wanted to stand up for themselves or protect their loved ones or do what they believe in their hearts is the right thing to do, then they would do it. If they wanted to be heroic, they would find ways to be heroic, even without supernatural powers.”
Marissa Meyer, Renegades

Brandon Sanderson
“My name is David Charleston.
I kill people with super powers.”
Brandon Sanderson, Firefight

Alexandra Bracken
“Jude was down there. He was down there. And the last place I would ever leave Jude was alone in the dark.”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

Alexandra Bracken
“You are actually the worst person I have ever met,” Chubs said. “And people like you are the reason we have middle fingers.”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

Karl Marx
“...it is all the more clear what we have to accomplish at present: I am referring to ruthless criticism of all that exists, ruthless both in the sense of not being afraid of the results it arrives at and in the sense of being just as little afraid of conflict with the powers that be.”
Karl Marx

Victoria Forester
“Dang! Look at that RAINBOW!" Piper shouted, accidently spewing bits of apple pie from her overstuffed mouth. All quickly turned and saw...
...exactly what Piper claimed, a rainbow.”
Victoria Forester, The Girl Who Could Fly

Alexandra Bracken
“Let’s see if I remember all of this—born in Charlottesville, Virginia, but raised in Salem by her mother, Susan, a teacher, and her father, Jacob, a police officer. Attended Salem Elementary School until your tenth birthday, when your father called into his station to report an unknown child in his house—”
“Stop,” I muttered. Liam looked over his shoulder, trying to divide his attention between me and the boy reciting the sordid tale of my life. “—but, bad luck, the PSFs beat the police to your house. Good luck, someone dropped the ball or they had other kiddies to pick up, because they didn’t wait around long enough to question your parents, and thus, didn’t pre-sort you. And then you came to Thurmond, and you managed to avoid their detecting you were Orange—” “Stop!” I didn’t want to hear this—I didn’t want anyone to hear it.”
Alexandra Bracken, The Darkest Minds

Alexandra Bracken
“What?” The word exploded out of me. “What do you want me to tell you? You want to hear about how they tied us up like animals to bring us into the camp—or, hey! How about that time a PSF once beat in a girl’s skull so badly she actually lost an eye? You want to know what it was like to drink rotten water for an entire summer until new pipes finally came? How I woke up afraid and went to bed in terror every single day for six years? For God’s sake, leave me alone! Why do you always have to dig and dig when you know I don’t want to talk about it?”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

Jostein Gaarder
“يرى امفيدوكليس أن قوتين مختلفتين تعملان في الطبيعة: الحب والكره. ما يوحد الأشياء هو الحب، ما يفرقها هو الكره.”
Jostein Gaarder, Sophie's World

Alexandra Bracken
“Chubs didn’t have to finish. I knew what I’d been when I’d found them: a terrified splinter of a girl who had been shattered a long time ago. I had nothing, and no one, and no real place to go. Maybe I was still broken and would always be—but now, at least, I was piecing myself back together, lining up one jagged edge at a time.”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

Prem Jagyasi
“When we try to develop an understanding of things we can do and the powers we have, we will have several revelations about our real self.”
Dr Prem Jagyasi

Alexandra Bracken
“I thought I had escaped the monsters, that I'd left them locked up behind an electric fence. But the shadows were alive, and they had chased me here.”
Alexandra Bracken

Alexandra Bracken
“I started at the beginning, the escape. Fleeing through the forest, meeting a new danger at every turn, the desperation that came with trying to protect everyone when you could barely take care of yourself. The boy with the bottomless dark eyes, the betrayal, the fire, the smoke. And by the time I realized I had told him my own story, Jude was fast asleep, tucked firmly into dreams.”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

Alexandra Bracken
“Cate had told me once, a long time ago, that the only way to survive your past was to find a way to close it off behind you, to shut one door before passing into another, brighter room. I was afraid. That was the truth. I was terrified of the guilt and shame that would come flooding in when I retraced my steps, turned the lock, and found the girl I had abandoned. I didn’t want to know what the darkness there had done to her, if she would even recognize herself in my face.”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

James Patterson
“I want to do it too!” said Gazzy, sitting very, very quietly, completely motionless.
“Nope,” said Nudge, shaking her head. “You stand out like a fart in church.”
James Patterson, The Final Warning

Alexandra Bracken
“Jude was down there. He was down there. And the last place I would ever leave Jude was alone in the darl.”
Alexandra Bracken, Never Fade

Paramahamsa Nithyananda
“Before we discuss intuition in greater
detail, let us first dispel the myths that intuition is some kind of a ‘fluke’ of
nature. I would like you to
understand that intuition is a skill that can be
developed just as any other skills that you acquire. It comes from you, from no one else! Because we have not experienced that zone, that part, that dimension of our being, we have forgotten it.
- HDH Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivoham, in the book "Living Enlightenment".”
Paramahamsa Nithyananda, Living Enlightenment

Brian Michael Bendis
“...And that, my friend, is why Brendan Fraser sucks.”
Brian Michael Bendis, Powers, Vol. 3: Little Deaths

Nalini Singh
“After seeing what you did to that car, I don't think any of these punks are going to be playing chicken with you." Grin feral, the other man slapped him on the shoulder, his strength reverberating through Ethan. "Trust Selya to find herself a mate who can cut people in half.”
Nalini Singh, Alpha Night

Sigmund Freud
“...we cannot fail to recognise the influence which the progressive control over natural forces exerts on the social relationships between men, since men always place their newly won powers at the service of their aggressiveness, and use them against one another.”
Sigmund Freud, New Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis

Kurtis J. Wiebe
“Magic is distilled laziness. Put that on my gravestone.”
Kurtis J. Wiebe, High Fantasies

“Self-knowledge is na action for those who are aware of the powers of faith.”
Alan Maiccon

“When you start chasing your goals, you start realising your powers. You have the power to achieve anything, the process of chasing those goals makes you powerful.”
Purvi Raniga

“Their revolvers are drawn, but they won’t fire. They’re just here as backdrop. The fire department is here too, as are the ETMs, but there isn’t much they can do either. They know the rules. This is clearly out of their scope, and these guys are out of their league. They’re basically here for crowd control. Besides, have you ever seen an ETM jump into a pool of acid to rescue two costumed teenagers? Do you even know what those guys get paid?”
John David Anderson

A.D. Aliwat
“See the unseeable, know the unknowable.”
A.D. Aliwat, In Limbo

Alessio D'Avino
“Per qualche strano motivo avevo dei poteri, abilità straordinarie che mi rendevano diverso da qualsiasi altro essere umano, ma avevo lasciato che il dolore, la rabbia e la paura fossero i miei unici appigli.”
Alessio D'Avino, La memoria di Areté

“He was terrified not because he thought the guy was lying to him or that the man was deranged but because he believed this geezer. He believed him on an almost instinctual or reflexive level that bordered on an emotional bonding.

Alex knew that he could not be his biological father because he was from another planet, this guy was human, all his history and personal data said so. He thought that maybe the panic was getting to him, but something inside said no.

Tasha had taught him to trust his intuition, but he did not think she would like what it was telling him now. So, all Alex could do was utter teenage male bravado.

“Why should I believe you, old man? you might be pulling my leg to stall till the police get here! Besides… let's see you do what I can do”

Patrick knew that he was going to lose this battle fast if he did not come up with an answer quick. He remembered that kind of scared brashness in himself and it was not good. It meant that Alex was right on the edge of not listening to reason in any way shape or form.

Patrick's dad would have beat him for not answering but he would never do that to this son, never in a million years.

Alex was feeling panicked but this time he knew it was the man in front of him that was panicked. He liked the idea of making the old guy squirm. It might give him the edge over the man to escape and cloud his memories of the ordeal when he was asleep at home.

“You don't wanna know what I can do to you, old man… I got powers”

“I don't doubt that at all Alex...I'm very impressed actually… probably a maturation of you being Veldean and being powered by gamma radiation”

Patrick, at that point, began walking forward, with hands upraised and palms out, towards Alex in a display of being unarmed. Alex just panicked more.”
L.B. Ó Ceallaigh, Souls' Inverse

“Be careful of who invites u to the dinner table, bcoz sometimes u get invited to be placed under surveillance for being a threat with your abilities.”
