35559 Awesome! I'll start within the hour
35559 I'm about 43% in, so chapter 11. My audiobook has stopped working as there's no space left on my phone to download the rest.

I don't think (view spoiler)

Stephen Fry did a great performance of (view spoiler). Sound effects were new but very welcome.

I always cringe when Lockhart enters a scene. Just ugh.

Is this the first time you've read the books, Vicky?

Gah sooooooo annoying!! Unfortunately in the business world there are so many people like him! Unbelievable"

Lockhart is bad. I don't think anyone actually learns anything in DADA in this book. Poor things. At least it gets better for them in 3rd year!

He brings lots of fun to the books! I'm reading the illustrated edition and the ghosty pics are ah-mazing"

Oh that sounds interesting! I'll give than a go next time I read the series

Oh wonderful!

Castle in the Air (Howl's Moving Castle, #2) by Diana Wynne Jones
Plot: In which a humble young carpet merchant wins, then loses, the princess of his dreams

Far to the south of the land of Ingary, in the Sultanates of Rashpuht, there lived in the city of Zanzib a young and not very prosperous carpet dealer named Abdullah who loved to spend his time daydreaming. He was content with his life and his daydreams until, one day, a stranger sold him a magic carpet.

That very night, the carpet flew him to an enchanted garden. There, he met and fell in love with the beauteous princess Flower-in-the-Night, only to have her snatched away, right under his very nose, by a wicked djinn. With only his magic carpet and his wits to help him, Abdullah sets off to rescue his princess....

We could start in July?

Shall we start in 5 days?

Just retrieved my copy from by bookshelves last night. I’m ready!"

Yay Talia! I'll update our threads on the buddy read tab and fit them into spells.

So all you will all need to do is let just add in when you've finished the book
35559 Hey Jan! This starts soon. Do you think you'll start it soon? I have about 3 or 4 buddy reads to do in the next few days and then a book of the month!

What would suit you best for reading this?
35559 Lexi! Do you think you'll be starting this soon? How many other buddy reads are you doing?

35559 Nicole, Teri and Talia - Six of crows starts on the 15th! Let's get our discussion on!
Jun 14, 2018 08:20AM

35559 Jackie - I think I'll use your Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and mine (when I read it) for the Divination and fortune teller tools. From what I remember, the trio are in Divination class and use a crystal ball and tea leaves
35559 Finished the book!

(view spoiler)

All in all, I did like it!

35559 I put the book in a spell, Zee. If the dog is a main character, then I'd say it's okay to use their name.

Oh no! Just when you think you're finally finished from all the markings...
I bet you can't wait until it's all over!
35559 Kate S wrote: "So, I am about halfway through this book. I am struggling to read it. Can someone who has read it and loved it fill me in a little bit about what you loved about it?"

I've read the book Kate. I read this when I was in high school and it seemed to help me deal with growing into an adult and understanding myself as well.

I think what I love the most about the book is it's surreal like feeling. It's the little things that get me. Like how (view spoiler)
35559 Sounds good! Ill try to start in the next two days
35559 Jen wrote: "Gah! I just realized. . . The Deathday Party for Sir Nicholas was in the book. Was it in the movie? And Peeves! Was he missing from the movie, too? :-(

Oh! And I forgot to tell you that I'm from ..."

Yes! Peeves is missing in all the movies. I was always sad about that
35559 I know I'm late but I've just started to listen to the audio book today!

The birthday cake scene always makes me cringe. Stephen Fry does Dobby's voice quite well
