35559 How's everyone going with the book now? I've been a bit busy with real life but I hope I can finish it tomorrow night.
35559 I hope I can start in the next three days!
35559 I finally finished it this morning. What was bothering me the most was the use of 'miracle' throughout the book.
(view spoiler)
35559 I listened to the first chapter via audiobook. But I can't listen to the rest and someone has borrowed it. So, I'm reading it but it will take me longer.

35559 I haven’t got a copy yet D:

No, we have Amanda's pink book. We need yellow and turquoise in covers/titles/series

We all need a break! I spent Monday evening watching Shadowhunters - the TV series adaption of the Mortal Instruments whilst painting my nails... It's not that good.

That would be great Brooklyn! I haven't even touched the book I put in for the hardcover and I have to return it to the library. It was due June 15... oops. So, we'll use Red Rising for that.

35559 I don't know how I missed it on the official spreadsheet! I've look at it so many times! Thanks Amanda!

We do need two brown books with 500+ pages.
Is anyone keen?

35559 Welcome back Halli and Karishma! I hope your holidays were great!

You lost your bet against your husband Halli! D:
Do you think you'll finish reading it? You could set aside the book for now. I'm struggling with All the Crooked Saints. For some reason, when I read a few pages, I get sleepy and struggle not to have a nap.
35559 I've actually started listening to the audiobook whilst driving. I'm hoping when you guys start, I'll be a decent way through and will finish when you all do.
I've been miserably slow in reading books the past week.

I'm enjoying it so far. The start was gripping.

35559 I'm in a bit of a reading rut this week. I'm behind on so many books and don't have a lot of time to read them this week. Hopefully I can finish at least one by Friday and 1 or 2 on the weekend

35559 Sorry for the delayed response guys. Two girls at work have gone on holidays and I'm helping to cover their shifts.

I've fixed up the book in relevant places Amanda! Thanks!

Teri - there's no rush in finishing the books!
I just wanted to have our classes organised soon so that we can use July to try and finish all the classes... then maybe spells. We get more points when finishing a class compared to a spell.

I know reading books on my own, I just skip over somethings and don't take time to understand those things. So, I'm glad I've joined so many buddy reads because I feel like it helps me understand more about the book when discussing it with you guys!

Oh definitely! I've learnt quite a bit about current young adult American culture having read quite a few books. I'm learning about how each of America's states can be totally different. Even foods. Waffles aren't that big in Australia, but I think they are in America

35559 I'm still struggling to get into this! I'm only on page 74...
35559 It's quite a slow build. I think things make sense the more you go into the book.

I don't think it helps that the parts in italics are a part of the past and we don't read them in order.

Erin and Kate - I definitely agree that Taylor is a bit hard to like/understand at the start.

Do you all think that as it's based in Australia and in the outback Australia, it's a bit hard for you to connect?
35559 Okay, I'm up to chapter 4 now.
I was struggling a bit at the start (seems like I am with all my books recently). But the mention of pee slippers... I can't handle it. I have toilet humour so I think Allan and I will get along just fine.

I'll read a bit more before I go to bed and post when I wake up

I think this would be a great audiobook.

I noticed there's no quotation marks when they're speaking. Why do you guys think it is like that?

A pair of those boots would do me good! I'l always late and upsetting friends. That would be useful

I didn't make the connection to Wizard of Oz but I see it now!
35559 Devann - Yeah I can imagine. I'm always comparing them to each other.
