Ok, I see that and the box is checked, but it's grayed out and inactive.

Circe, I took your question to the Airport Lounge to get some feedback from players on other teams. I'm not familiar with that term, but hopefully it will be ok, since it's used as a word.

35559 Our team has a detour that states "Read a book where a character's name is also a word."

One of our teammates has this question:
Hi girls. So I'm reading Kate Daniels's series and there is a character: Curran, I search and his name apparently means "cute" "quite" "lovable", does it counts for stop #6 (Read a book where a character's name is also a word)? People used it as a word, btw.

What do you think? Does that work?

Way to go, Circe!

No, that's ok. I knew there was a chance that would be the decision and respect it. I'll find another character whose name is also has another meaning.

35559 I went to my " account settings" and then went to "email settings". I didn't see the "Notify me when people comment" link. Is it in another place? I have my email for NBRC set to "Digest". Could that be the problem?
Whenever I join a challenge, this seems to be the problem. I don't hear from the people on the thread until I comment on it and I always wonder how others know it's active.
TIA Laura, for helping me problem solve this. :)

35559 Sounds good about the SS, Vicky! Also, now that I commented on the thread, I seem to be getting email notifications when one of you post, so I think my problem is solved.

35559 Hi Team!
Excited for this challenge to start! Wheel-a-thon was so much fun last time!
I'm late checking in as I didn't receive a notification that the thread was up and running. Captains, could you check this out for me and make sure I'm getting them? Thanks a ton! I have a few books to choose for letters, if we're selecting letters now.

Do you maybe mean Sarah? I finished my book for Stop 3 on 9/28.

No problem. It's easy for a post to get buried. Thanks for asking the mods. I don't think it will be an issue moving books around, but I just wanted to be sure.

Hi Karolyn,
This is back a few posts, so just wanted to be sure you saw it. What do you think?

35559 I just finished such a great book written by a 21 year old woman about her real life escape from North Korea when she was 13 years old.

If interested you may want to add In Order to Live A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom by Yeonmi Park to your TBR list.

I would say yes!"

Thanks for your feedback Karolyn, Circe and Jessi. I ordered the book today on Kindle for $1.99. It sounds like a really good mystery.

35559 Karolyn,
Is it possible to make a change in the spreadsheet for Stop 2 Aberdeen? I would like to move The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper from Stop 2 to Stop 5 Kolkata. For Stop 2 I would like to use A Monster Calls, which is set in the United Kingdom. I think it should be fine, but just wanted to check, since it's a past stop. If it's ok, I can make the changes on the SS myself. Thanks!

35559 Thanks, I found it. I'm on team Barrell. Have either of you done this challenge before? I have and it's lots of fun!

I'm signed up for Wheel-a-thon too. Could you please post the link to the discussion thread. I'm not getting any notices. Thanks!

Hey Carrie,
There are still others who haven't finished their book for stop 3, so if you want to read for that stop please don't feel pressure.

If you want a quick read Pygmalion is super short and just costs 60 cents or maybe Carrie's book, Skinny Dip. If those don't appeal to you or you are feeling stressed to get them done, then no problem. We are not trying to race another team and the earliest we can move on is 10/4 anyway. Your decision totally!

Carrie,
That is a great, fast book! Enjoy!
