35559 Looks like our team started on Saturday 9/1, so the earliest we can move to our next stop would be Saturday 9/8. I'm guessing this is based on East coast time in the US. Does anyone know for sure?

We can stay longer than a week in one spot, if we like, so there's not really a deadline. Since I joined late, I'll just volunteer for the one book, so as not to hold the team up if we want to move to the next stop on the 8th. Of course, if we're having trouble covering the letters I'm happy to read an additional book.

35559 Hi Literary Ladies!
I'm Nanci and just joined your team. I have participated in this challenge once before, so I'm fairly familiar with the rules etc. I've read through the thread up to here and added a book I just started today to the ss. It covers letter "L". Thanks to those of you who set up the ss. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Will do! Thanks!

35559 I did this before and it was lots of fun, so please put me on a team. I just finished TT. Looking forward to this as there’s more flexibility on what I can read.

35559 I realized I hadn't added The Mars Room to my read book shelf yet. I finished it August 25, so well within the deadline. Just added it to my shelf. Hope it can still be used.

35559 Thanks loads to our captains for all your hard work and organization during this challenge. You did a great job!

35559 Ok. Added Little Fires to my shelf. It’s been fun playing with all of you! Sorry I wasn’t able to read more during this challenge. Not complaining but there was just too much travel.

35559 The book I just finished reading was Little Fires Everywhere. I’ll put it on my shelf and if you wouldn’t mind adding it to the spreadsheet at least that would be one that we can count.

35559 So sorry I’ve been MIA. I was at the beach for one week with friends and now with my family for another week. I will post my books on Sunday or Monday when I return. When does the challenge end? I don’t think I’ve read anything that matches the tasks we need, but I’ll look. Again, so sorry to have been out of touch!

35559 Thanks for all the explanation, Plethora. I keep looking at the maze posts, but most of the time it's like you say...either I'm too late in even seeing the post and someone else has offered to read the book, or I don't have a fast book on hand, or my schedule doesn't permit me to sit down right then and read it. All good problems as long as others are doing the reading. :)
I'll just keep plugging along in my books and adding them as I finish and let you experts use them in the best manner.

35559 Sounds good. I'll just keep checking Maze and if I have something short that would work, then I'll hop in.
Thanks, Carmen.

35559 Plethora and team,
I am back home and no longer limited to the app! Yay! I'd like to help the team out however I can. I'm not a fast reader (quidditch was stressful for me, even in the easy position), so what do you suggest? Reading an average 300 page book generally takes me 2-3 days. Should I just keep reading and having them count in general as books read? I've looked at the maze and I'm certain at times there would be books I have on hand that would fit, but I don't want to hold up the team by taking a few days to read one. Please let me know. No hurt feelings if you feel I wouldn't be fast enough to participate in Tri or Maze.

35559 Hi Ozana,
Wish I could help out with answers, but I've been on the team from the start and I'm still lost! lol
I'm sure a knowledgeable team mate will respond to your questions soon. Welcome to the team!

35559 Ok. Thanks, Plethora. Since I’m still traveling I think I need to stay out of this challenge as it’s too hard to manage on the app. If you still need someone in a few days, let me know. Otherwise, I’ll just sit this one out.
Aug 01, 2018 03:38AM

35559 So I’m a little late to sign up, but I might like to take part in the maze. I’ve read the directions, but still not too clear. Do I personally need to read 3 books which each meet the qualifications of 3 of the tasks or is this a team effort, where I select one book and teammates select 2 more books, so together we’ve read 3 books? Also what is the time limit?
Jul 31, 2018 03:01AM

35559 Carmen, I finally got around to posting my books to my shelf. You said earlier you could get them on the spreadsheet for me since I’m on the yucky app. The two books are: Homegoing and The Death of Mrs Ware.

Please let me know if you have any problems with them. I haven’t had time to read much on this trip as we’ve been so busy until late at night. We will be heading home in a few days and I should be finishing a book on CD and also another novel in the car.

35559 Sorry, I can’t do quidditch this time around.
