I’m here now though 😊"Welcome Kelly!
Looks like we could use a B for the 2nd spell out. Post the name of the book and how it qualifies for "B". Vicky will add it to the SS.

Yes, hazel is a color. It's perfectly fine! :)

Vicky, congratulations on your promotion!
The SS looks good on my account. Great idea to put the note with the post number of the last update!
I'm getting excited for the challenge to begin!

That is so me, Cait! I really start questioning myself when a book doesn't hit me and others are just raving about it. I'm a fairly hard judge on literature though. I probably only give a few 5 star ratings in a year. My friends who follow me and like my choices, know that a 4 star is probably going to be a pretty great read.

Oh I hate it when that happens too. Especially when I've been on the wait list for a long time at the library and other people have loved it.

That's a really good way to handle all those challenges, Cait. I probably only do 7-8 challenges a year. They are so fun and addicting, but I also like to have time to just read without a time line. The challenges are great at upping my books read for my own Reading Challenge, which I try to reach each year.

Wow! That is a huge TBR list! I am also a big library user. Occasionally I'll buy an ebook, but it's pretty rare.
Laura, I also have trouble when reading for a challenge. I try to make sure it's going to be something I like, but if not I usually just plow through it if I've committed.

Oh it will work just fine, as long as you like it. You are smart! It has taken me years to feel like it's ok not to finish a book that doesn't resonate with me. It's been hard learning to trust my instinct that if the first 30 pages aren't working then it's probably not going to be worthwhile.

Way to go, Karolyn! You have inspired me to try to tackle it...someday. Ha!

Also, I also need to reread
The Weird Sisters for my real life book group. I may be getting a bit ambitious for this first week, but if I get a lot of reading time that would fit for letters W, E, or C. Don't put it on the SS yet, but just a heads up that it might be a possibility.
Now I need to concentrate on finishing my longest book on my TBR
Under the Dome at 1,074 pages for another challenge. It would have been great if the timing had worked for this challenge. Such a good book!

Cait,
Megan in msg 92 said she's reading an "O" book, but that's great as we can use yours in our 2nd spelling of cobweb.
I have a question about the BOM. I'm going to be rereading
Crazy Rich Asians. The BOM starts Nov 1st. Our first week ends Nov 3rd, right? Does the BOM need to fit for a letter in our spell it outs too? Can it, so it can count towards a letter as well as earn points as a BOM? If it can work for both, please enter it as a "C" in our 3rd spell out of Cobweb and I'll make it a priority to read it in time to work. It should read fast since it's a reread.

Anna, I would think "brooks" works". I don't see anything about plurals not being accepted.

Sarah wrote: "Nanci I live right next to a thoroughbred farm in Kentucky! Craziness! (That’s why it’s hard to get to a bookstore) lol."OMGosh! Such beautiful country you live in! I love horses and might even give up a close bookstore to be near horses!

Anna, it warms my heart to hear you say your love of reading was due to your second and third grade teacher. I taught elementary for the first 18 years of my career, most of it in 2nd and 3rd grade. The last 19 were as an elementary school counselor. As teachers and counselors we hope to make a positive impact, but often times we don't know the results. Recently two of my former students from my
very first class I taught found me on facebook and I was even able to visit one in Kentucky where she manages the colts on a thoroughbred farm, which had been her dream in 2nd grade. Words cannot explain how wonderful it has been to reconnect with those sweet girls from long ago, who are now wonderful women. If there's any way for you to write to your former teacher, I know it would mean so much. Coincidentally, my 2nd and 3rd grade teachers, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Griffith, were a big part of the reason I became a teacher!

Anna, I have to say I just LOVE that you are on our team! Books were my whole world when I was your age and it's a love that has never ended. I think many of us are on Goodreads because the average person thinks we're crazy that we love books and reading so much, but here it's a safe place to be bonkers for books! Keep reading and keep joining challenges. You are one smart girl!!

I am loving my big book, The Dome. I'm..."Big correction! I keep referring to Wheelathon as Wobble. Sorry for any confusion. I’m in too many challenges!

Oh my Anna, I didn’t realize you were so young. It’s so great that you’re such an avid reader with strong communication skills. I think that book might be quite scary and maybe the language is not appropriate. I never read the book, but I watched part of the movie years ago ( it was too creepy for me, so I didn’t watch it much) and if the book is like the movie I wouldn’t have wanted my kids to read it at age 13. Please do not feel pressure to read it if you think it’s inappropiate.

Sarah, I really think something is amiss with your sign up for Wheel-a-thon. There is one Sarah on the team assignment sheet, but it's not you. I would definitely contact the Mods. Hopefully they can still find a team for you. If not, they do often need subs when people don't show up, so you could probably get on as a sub. Good luck!
