The Revealed Church

Steeped in the Word

July 22, 2025 – 07/22/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

22 – Personal Revelation

Because of this oath, Jesus is the one who guarantees this better covenant with God. Hebrews 7:22 NLT

The Revealed Church

You may be aware of the time Jesus asked His disciples what the word on the street was about Him. Read it very carefully and see if God can show you something you may have overlooked or not understood until now.

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” – Matthew 16:13-19

Many have falsely speculated Jesus is saying Peter is the rock the church will be built upon. Jesus is saying Peter’s ability to know something straight from the Father – to have a holy revelation – is the bedrock of the church. Revelation knowledge is knowing or seeing something the way God knows or sees it. This is fundamental. It is “the view from above.”

The next time your heart is overwhelmed, your mind is freaked out, or you are at the end of your rope, let God show you your situation the way He sees it. Say, “Lord, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.” When you get a download of revelation knowledge, and you see your situation the way God sees it, it is like climbing up to a higher place where things come into perspective. From there, you can loose yourself and bind the enemy. That’s a rock worth climbing!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">The Revealed Church

Grounded in FaithDeclare!

Standing on the Rock that is higher than me, my soul is grateful for the revelation I have of Who He is. My faith in Jesus Christ cannot be shaken by the world because I know what He personally said to me and showed me. I am intentional about being an active part of the church where the Lord has placed me, and that brings me great Joy!

1 The quantity of motion in a moving body, being always proportioned to the quantity of matter multiplied into the velocity, impetus. 2 An impelling force of strength.

Momentum starts with action. It needs an impetus or impelling force of strength to begin moving forward. That means you have a responsibility to act. You have to be intentional about upgrade.

Know this: progressive people get more progressive. Studious people get more power to learn. Generous people get more power to give, and loving people get more power to love even the worst people. Awesome is the power of momentum!

Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. – Matthew 13:12

Reflect Goodness

Steeped in the Word

July 20, 2025 – 07/20/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

20 – Waiting and Expectancy

Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. Matthew 7:20 NLT

Reflect Goodness

God’s loving-kindness is greater than your troubles. When you focus on evil, His ability to operate through you is reduced to your own resources. Focus on what He wants to do through you, then watch His goodness multiply through your actions.

As people who are supposed to reflect the face of God, we are to love what is good. We are to do good and celebrate anything that is selfless, kind or uplifting. Do you have a high value for the betterment of other people? Do you have the Kingdom perspective of selfless giving? If you don’t, you should. It will bring heaven to earth.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor, giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Romans 12:9-13

If you live as a redeemed resident of Heaven on Earth in the midst of this ungodly generation, you will learn to love what God loves and hate what God hates. He really loves goodness. He really loves seeing His kids go out of their way to be kind and reach out to those in need.

However, He is ecstatic when He gets the glory for your goodness. To Him, it’s like hearing someone say, “She’s got her Father’s eyes!” or “He’s generous just like his Daddy!” It makes Him so proud when you point to Him and let people know your goodness runs in the spiritual family.

When was the last time you pointed to Him? If it’s been a while, find a reason today to practice goodness and brag on your Father in heaven. To God be the glory!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Reasonable Price

Steeped in the Word

July 19, 2025 – 07/19/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

19 – Faith

For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. Hebrews 7:19 NLT

Reasonable Price

God doesn’t own just a part of your life. He owns it all. He made you. You are His child, so you belong to Him.

Do my children belong to you? Certainly not! Same thing with my other possessions. If I allowed you to drive my car and you complained because I asked for the back seat and all you wanted to give me, the owner, was a little trunk space, I would look at you like you were nuts. It is your privilege to drive my car, but I have the pink slip.

If at the end of the day, you want to complain and bargain with me, and finally give me the entire trunk, you insult me. It’s my car, so I tell you, “Hey, this is your reasonable service.”

The cure to the destructive pattern of thinking that “God wants too much out of me,” is to do a proper assessment of who owns your life.

For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:20

Boo-yah! Jesus purchased you from the devil, a terrible tyrant, with His own blood. You are now a slave to Christ! But don’t worry, He has assured us His “yoke is not heavy” and His “burden is light.”

Abundant Family Fruit

Steeped in the Word

July 18, 2025 – 07/18/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

18 – (+) Life More Abundantly (-) The Bondage of Sin

A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.

Matthew 7:18 NLT

Abundant Family Fruit

Pray for your children not as the world views them, but as the Lord views them. Pray for their destiny to manifest. Give thanks and watch the transformation begin.

If you live with the fear your children will never get saved, you have listened to a lie from the pit of hell.

Read the following scripture and be comforted:

But now listen, Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen. This is what the Lord says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.

Some will say, ‘I belong to the Lord’; others will call themselves by the name of Jacob; still others will write on their hand, ‘The Lord’s,’ and will take the name Israel. – Isaiah 44:1-5

You may have tried everything and prayed and prayed, but don’t you dare give up on seeing victory in the life of your offspring! It is the will of God that they know the truth and are saved. Yes, it is the will of God that they should be reconciled unto the Father, and their names should be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. It can happen. Heck, it’s going to happen because you are someone who is in covenant with the Lord your God!

That covenant does not just apply to your house, job, and finances. His covenant also applies and extends to your seed (your unborn kids) and offspring (your living children).

It’s your job to have a right mind when it comes to believing God for victory in your kids’ lives. Do not give up! Make it your business to hope when others have fallen out.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Grounded in FaithDeclare!

God’s word tells me that my heritage includes having my children come to know Him and to follow Him. I believe the Word of The Lord Most High. No matter what it looks like now, I know that the Lord is working things out for the salvation and redemption of my children. Jesus came to give me abundant life, and that means my children will know Him, too.

Fruit of Redeemed Sight

Steeped in the Word

July 17, 2025 – 07/17/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

17 – Overcoming Victory

A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit.

Matthew 7:17 NLT

Fruit of Redeemed Sight

There is no way a healthy male cannot be aware of a beautiful woman. This does not make him bad. This makes him a man. God programmed every man to be naturally visual! Godly men struggle with this awareness and spend a lot of conscious thought in extreme combat. Like the little train that said, “I think I can. I think I can,” he chants the mantra of “I will not look. I will not look!” He ends up seeing anyway, and by the end of the day, the scarlet letter “L” for “loser” is stamped on his spiritual forehead.

Knowing the truth about awareness can really set us free! It’s not a sin to be aware of a woman’s beauty. It is a sin to let that awareness escalate into carnal imaginations.

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” Proverbs 16:3

The word “works” here means “actions.” When you commit your mental or physical actions to God, He will establish your thought life. Do you think Jesus was unaware of the beautiful women He was in contact with? He was just like us – visual. Of course, He noticed women. He looked but did not lust. He was aware, but He practiced the art of “brain freeze.” He would not allow His awareness to turn into filthy imaginations.

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. – Hebrews 4:15

Jesus was aware of the crimes of the Roman Empire, yet He wouldn’t let His mind harbor hatred. He was aware of the corruption of the priests, yet He didn’t entertain thoughts of bitterness. He was aware of the sins of the very people He healed – hands that were restored would later be used to steal, kill or destroy. He healed those hands anyway.

Jesus was even aware that the very people He cared for would soon turn against Him and yell, “Crucify Him!” yet His mind was compassionate toward them. Do you have the mind of Christ?

Things from my life before I met Jesus tried to leave their imprint on my mind. The Holy Spirit in me exposes the lies and the shadows of the past and reminds me of the Truth Christ has spoken and shines His Light into my soul. Because I was wounded, I now have compassion for others who have been hurt. I ask to be used by God to encourage them to find healing and hope in Jesus.

Deeper Love, Higher Level of Blessings

Steeped in the Word

July 16, 2025 – 07/16/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

16 – The Love of God

You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Matthew 7:16 NLT

Deeper Love, Higher Level of Blessings

If you want to see a great move of God and favor in your life, ministry, family, or job, there is something you need to understand. It’s not enough to want those things or to work at them when you have the time or resources. You cannot move to the next level or truly bless others until you are consistent.

That means you show up every day. You bring the right attitude. You do what needs to be done and strategically plan for more of whatever it is you’re after.

Years ago, I started taking groceries to a group of about 35 isolated elderly folks. I could have done that once, patted myself on the back, and moved on. I didn’t. Every Saturday, rain or shine, crying babies, lack of sleep, lack of money – the list of excuses I could give to stop helping was never-ending.

Because I was consistent with a little, God blessed me with more and more until I had a lot – the OpenDoor Food Bank that feeds thousands of people each year.

All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along. – Galatians 2:10

In 1986, I was newly saved and wanted to jump off the deep end of whatever Jesus had for me, so I took my band to play Christian rock on Lancaster Street in Fort Worth. The homeless would come for the entertainment, and we’d feed them and give them clothes. I still lead a team to that same parking lot every month.

Now, God shows me favor in everything I do. He brings me opportunities I’m not looking for, like meeting with kings and celebrities, hosting television shows, and stomping around the globe. Why does God favor me? Because I’m consistent. I am strategic about the kingdom, and I keep going even when others fade away.

Are you favored? If not, look at where you are not being consistent and make a strategic plan to take that territory for the Lord. He will bless your socks off!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Steeped in the Word

July 15, 2025 – 07/15/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

15 – Rest and Overcoming Death

I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. Romans 7:15 NLT

Warring for the Promises

On Thanksgiving morning of 2000, my wife and I were in a crummy hotel in London, England. It was our very first mission trip, and that day was going to be a biggie. To us, it seemed we were at the end of the earth, and nothing was going our way – nothing.

I woke up very early because my internal clock was out of whack. When I opened my Bible, my eyes fell on Psalm 61. God really moved that morning. I realized this verse is deeply personal for you and me, just as it was for David when he penned it. Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. – Psalm 61:1-2

When David says he will cry out to God from the ends of the earth, he is not talking about geographical location. Translation: “the end of my rope.” To stress the point, the very next thing David says is his heart is “overwhelmed.” He is really at the end of his rope or “at his wit’s end.”

The last thing Jesus said before His ascension into heaven is that he would be with us always, even unto the “ends of the world.” What our Savior was really saying is He would be with us to the end of our ropes when our hearts are overwhelmed. He promised to be with us even at our wit’s end!

You need to learn to find the presence of Jesus when your heart is overwhelmed. It’s your ability to seek Jesus at the end of your rope. The trouble is, when you’re there, you generally throw a fit when you should bend a knee or bow a head.

When I learned to get small – to be humble in the face of great adversity – and ask the Lord for help because I was at the end of my rope, deliverance came. It came that dreary Thanksgiving Day in England, and it will come for you as well.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Warring for the Promises

Steeped in the Word

July 14, 2025 – 07/14/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

14 – Generational Promises and The Fear of the Lord

So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. Romans 7:14 NLT

Warring for the Promises

If you’re going to get your upgrade and go to the next level, you cannot rebel against God in your wilderness experience – which is easy to do as the wilderness is hard! If you’re like me, you get tempted to run away from God and the processes you find painful. Instead, you must run to Him!

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

– Proverbs 18:10

How you act in the wilderness determines if you spend 40 days like Jesus did, or 40 years, like Moses. It is really up to you! It is so important you learn to live and be happy in God’s presence because in the wilderness, the battle is about survival. The Promised Land is about advancing.

The enemy of dreaming, of creativity and forward, is survival. God wants you to get through your wilderness so you can get past surviving and get on with thriving. To do this, the enemy must be displaced.

Know this: that place is in God’s amazing presence in the wilderness. It’s where He changes you from a helpless slave to an overcoming warrior. Instead of learning to protect yourself, God wants to teach you how to fight. To battle for His promises, His goodness, hearing His voice and for territory in which to glorify Him. He wants to make you dangerous to the enemy and willing to fight for more of Him.

God is speaking courage into you. To move into your Promised Land, you will have giants who try to keep you from advancing. No matter how loud they roar, know that God is bigger. Trust in God’s promises as you advance into the place He has for you. Run to Him!

Do you want to be a warrior? Learn to fight through prayer and by searching for the heart of the King of Kings. Run to Him!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

God is speaking courage into you. To move into your Promised Land, you will have giants who try to keep you from advancing. No matter how loud they roar, know that God is bigger. Trust in God’s promises as you advance into the place He has for you. Run to Him!

Do you want to be a warrior? Learn to fight through prayer and by searching for the heart of the King of Kings. Run to Him!

Grounded in FaithDeclare!

I am not a victim who is barely surviving. I am a victorious child of the Lord Most High who wants all good things for me. I know that when things seem hard, He is still with me and giving me courage. I choose to run to Him so I can be in His presence.

No Matter What He Has Your Plan

Steeped in the Word

July 13, 2025 – 07/13/2025

7 – The Spirit of God

13 – Rebellion

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.”

Matthew 7:13 NLT

No Matter What He Has Your Plan

Odds are, you’ve never heard of Titanic Thompson. He sailed through life as the greatest poker-playing, golf-gambling, horseshoe-hustling, skeet-shooting, womanizing, hell-raising con man of all time. His skills as a card cheat got him invited to play poker with Al Capone. Yes, he cheated the legendary mobster and got away with it. His golf skills were good enough to shoot 29 on the back nine of Fort Worth’s Ridglea Country Club, where he beat Byron Nelson by one stroke. Harry Houdini studied him to find his secret to swindling people.

I could go on and on. The man is fascinating. Why do I know so much about Titanic? His son, Tommy Thomas, is a friend of mine. Now Titanic married five times and had several abandoned offspring, Tommy included. Always hoping to someday impress his infamous dad, Tommy caught up with him in San Antonio, and the pair racked up millions from unsuspecting wannabes. Was the money great? Sure. But that’s not what Tommy was after.

Tommy was looking for his father’s love. All he wanted was to hear the words, “I love you,” even if they were from a deeply flawed man like Titanic.

Well, Tommy did hear those words as Titanic was drawing some of his last breaths. While it was great, Tommy’s life was truly changed when he heard his Father God proclaim His undying love for the cheating son of a card shark. Amazing!

Today, Tommy is a preacher telling everyone how to beat the odds in life – and death – through salvation in Jesus Christ. Tommy knows the secret many of us long to understand: Whatever exploits you’ve lived, good or bad, they mean nothing compared to who you love and who loves you. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17

Who do you love?

You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">No Matter What He Has Your Plan

My life has not been perfect, but it is now redeemed and I am set free from the evil that kept me bound. I praise God that my life doesn’t look like it once did. I praise Him that now I have a future and a hope.
