For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. Hebrews 7:19 NLT

God doesn’t own just a part of your life. He owns it all. He made you. You are His child, so you belong to Him.

Do my children belong to you? Certainly not! Same thing with my other possessions. If I allowed you to drive my car and you complained because I asked for the back seat and all you wanted to give me, the owner, was a little trunk space, I would look at you like you were nuts. It is your privilege to drive my car, but I have the pink slip.

If at the end of the day, you want to complain and bargain with me, and finally give me the entire trunk, you insult me. It’s my car, so I tell you, “Hey, this is your reasonable service.”

That’s what God calls your life given in service to Him – “reasonable” service.

Now, what’s real is that all of us bargain with God from time to time. It’s not just you. It’s all of us, but God helps you to have a right mind on this issue. The cure to the destructive pattern of thinking that “God wants too much out of me,” is to do a proper assessment of who owns your life.

For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:20

Boo-yah! Jesus purchased you from the devil, a terrible tyrant, with His own blood. You are now a slave to Christ! But don’t worry, He has assured us His “yoke is not heavy” and His “burden is light.”

What Jesus did for you requires a reasonable service to the Lord – a life dedicated to serving Him and His Kingdom. He is always at your side to help you.

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Reasonable Price
Grounded in FaithDeclare!
It is a joy and an honor to serve the Lord. He valued me so much that He died so I never would have to. I’m so grateful to get to live my life with Him every step of the way. The desire of my heart is to serve Him well and bring Him glory.
