Fruitful Finish
October 09, 2025 – 10/09/2025
10 – Perfect Order
9 – Fruit Bearing (+) Judgment (-)
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 NLT
Fruitful Finish
You were born not just to make it, but to make a way for others to make it. All of this forward living is not just about you. Promised Land living is a constant awareness of destiny, legacy and leaving a heritage of forward momentum for others to build on. Yes, like our big brother Jesus, we are to be builders and carpenters.

There is an old adage that says, “It is easier to fight for one’s principles than to live up to them.” One day, your life is going to require you to live up to what you’ve fought so hard for. Life is fighting, pushing, running, overcoming, building, achieving, declaring, and pursuing after God. Someday, not very long from this moment, you will finish your race.

Now don’t start freaking out! You need to know how this works. For you to walk in the power of God, you have to live in the paradox of complete awareness of both your eternity and your short time here. When you get ready for your big finish, I hope you can be like Paul – able to look back at your fight and say, “Man, I fought a good fight.”

“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Take a good look at this passage. Notice how Paul was not only thinking about himself at the end of his life, but “for all who long for the appearing of Jesus.”

Know this: Paul fought the good fight, and the good fight is one that you win! Yes, you win! So, like Paul, finish the course. Jesus is the prize.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Fruitful Finish

Grounded in FaithDeclare!Every day, I keep my eyes on the finish line. That way, I can make my life count for Kingdom good. I want the crown of righteousness when it is time because I know it will bring glory to Jesus, who made the way for me to be saved.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!
Matthew 10:8 NLT
He Makes Us New
There is only one way to make a difference in someone’s life: to have compassion on them. The only way to have compassion on someone is to get involved in their world and to see them the way Father God sees them.

Take, for instance, the witch I met on my first mission trip to Costa Rica. I was with two local boys who had been saved and baptized the night before we trekked into the jungle to find her.

Roseanne was the real deal, and would read your fortune, give you a message from the grave, or pronounce a curse on your enemy. I knew there was going to be a showdown. One of the boys called out to announce our arrival, but Roseanne yelled that she didn’t know him and he had to leave.

“She’s known me all my life,” he said, confused. I told him she didn’t recognize him anymore because the Holy Spirit now lived in him. When we finally met face-to-face, Roseanne was a pitiful creature.

She was tormented in a way I couldn’t imagine. She was so lonely and self-hating, she’d voluntarily taken up company with a demonic spirit! I began to see her as the Lord sees her. I was filled with compassion. Suddenly, I felt her pain.

I said God loved her. She said, “He has never seen me.” Out of my Spirit, I said, “That’s not true. He saw you when you were a little girl, and your father molested you. Jesus cried when you cried.” I told her God was there, but the devil had tricked her into thinking God didn’t love her. She said she knew the devil was a liar. She thought he would kill her if she humbled herself to Jesus. We told her the truth – the devil is a defeated wimp – and before long, she was on her knees alongside us, lifting her hands to the Lord as she received Jesus.

Knowing Jesus knew her pain touched her heart. Feeling what God feels means feeling something very painful sometimes. Roseanne’s pain was tremendous, but her joy at salvation was tremendous as well.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

7 – The Spirit of God
Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Matthew 10:7 NLT
Heavenly Intel
On a recent trip to Africa, I had a mission on my mission trip. At 36,000 feet on a very long flight, I was trying to keep my mind occupied when the Lord stepped in and gave me three God-thoughts, or Holy Ghost flashcards if you will. They went like this:

Boom! Little boy, orphaned, unloved, dejected. Boom! Under a tree, crying, sad, helpless. Boom! Broken arm, pain, and ongoing anxiety. Right away, I knew God had spoken to me, so I told Leanna we were going to be on the lookout for an orphan boy under a tree with a broken arm. “We are going to help him,” I told her.

Now, words cannot describe the welcome we get when we arrive at one of our orphanages. It’s a celebration. I imagine it’s something like your first day in Heaven. The music is blaring, and there are people dancing and celebrating. I never get tired of it.

On this trip, we were engulfed in the celebration when I looked over the heads of my beloved Ugandan munchkins, and there he was! The boy God had told me about. He was standing naked under a tree, crying and holding his arm. “There he is,” I shouted at Leanna. Now my wife has a real way with children. The minute she saw him, she abandoned the celebration and held him in her arms. He was terrified because she was the first white person he’d ever seen, but that didn’t last long as her words and gestures soothed him.

It was just like God had said. I knew we had been sent there just for him because God sees the evil done to the orphaned. You know, we were all once orphaned, stumbling around in pain, unloved and lonely. Then Father God sent Jesus to round us up and make us part of the family.

Now He who searches the heart knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. – Romans 8:27

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

6 – The Flesh of Man
When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. Romans 6:10 NLT
True Direction
On Nov. 23, 1877, the last of the great naval steam ships, the USS Huron, left port and headed south toward Cuba, captained by the best and brightest West Point had to offer, Commander George P. Ryan.

Ryan ignored warnings of upcoming storms. He was confident he could weather any storm with his compass and his knowledge. However, he failed to realize there was a tiny 1-degree error in the ship’s compass. The further it headed south, the closer the USS Huron got to the East Coast’s reefs. Within 24 hours, the Huron sank just 200 yards off the coast of Virginia, and 98 men lost their lives. Ryan’s last recorded words were, “My God, how did we get here?”

Ever look up from your busy life, see the wreck about to happen, and ask the same question? I have, many times, and I know you have too. Ryan was lost because what he trusted wasn’t true. I was lost because I was distracted. Sometimes, we’re lost in a fog of pain, despair, or doubt. Whatever the reason, it’s a very bad thing to be lost.

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. – John 14:16-18

God hates the idea of you being lost. He will do whatever it takes to find you, but you have to want to be found. Have you fallen off the path? Never been on the right road and want to find the way to your true home? Call out to Him! It’s that easy.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Grace to Defeat Darkness
October 05, 2025 – 10/05/2025

5 – The Grace of God
God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. Matthew 5:10 NLT
Grace to Defeat Darkness
I ministered to prison inmates in solitary confinement. As I introduced myself to one guy, he interrupted me and hissed, “I know who you are, Troy Brewer. You are going to die a horrible death and blah, blah, blah…” He pronounced curses at me and my family before spitting on the glass where my face was! I had never seen this man, but he was calling me by name and declaring things for me that, privately, I’m afraid of. He didn’t know me, but the devil within him did.

I yelled back, “You are not the author and the finisher of my faith. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” He banged his head against the wall, chanting my name repeatedly. I quoted every scripture I could think of at the top of my lungs. We made so much racket, I was ushered back to the chaplain’s office.

I had a lot of time to think about what happened in that prison cell on my three-hour drive home. It occurred to me that it’s good to be famous in Hell.

The Bible records the seven sons of Sceva took on a demon-possessed man, but bit off more than they could chew. The fools went toe-to-toe with a demon without the power of Christ when they said, “We command you in the name of Jesus that Paul preaches…” Acts 19:15-17 records what happened next.

“And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

The devil’s answer? He had never heard of them. Not only did he beat the fire out of them, they left naked! I’ve determined from this scripture it is good to be famous in hell. I hope the devil wakes up every morning cussing me and goes to bed cussing me! To hell with the devil!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Grounded in FaithDeclare!Jesus paid the price for my sin so that I can live free from the effects of darkness. It cost Him too much to pay my wages, so I work for Him to push back darkness and advance the Kingdom of God. My joy comes from knowing the one who tried to take my life is being defeated by the One Who saved it!

For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. Romans 10:4 NLT
Oh No You Don’t
Beware of being fixated on your past. It can be toxic. When this happens, your fight for greatness gets replaced with a fight for preserving history, and living it out over and over again. That’s where it really gets ugly!

You can see how ugly it gets in the conversations you have in your head. Admit it. You think about something that happened in the past and think, “I should have said this,” “I should have done that,” or “What if…” You start to construct conversations in your head that, are not only practicing for a fight you will regret, they transport you back to the anger and hurt all over again. STOP IT!

From their callous hearts comes iniquity; their evil imaginations have no limits. Psalm 73:7 ESV All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations… Isaiah 65:2

When you find yourself having those conversations in your head, like Adam and Eve before you, you are talking to snakes! The serpent wants to keep you wrapped up in your past so you never forgive. If you don’t forgive, you will turn bitter. Once you’re bitter, you are angry all the time. This kills your witness for Jesus!

Not only do you kill your testimony, you slam the brakes on your upgrade. Moving forward means forgiving those in your past, turning your face forward, and saying, “NO!” when the snake tries to stir you up about your past. So don’t let him. Look to Jesus and your future.

Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. Luke 10:3 NLT
In the Best Place
Because of our rugged individualism and “can-do” attitude, the American mission field is a tough nut to crack. Say what you will, I would argue the toughest person to reach for Jesus isn’t the bushman in Africa or the devout Hindu in India. The most difficult person to win for Jesus Christ I have come across is the leathery, hard-working American who puts in 40-60 hours a week and pays his taxes.

Good luck trying to convince him. He doesn’t believe he needs anybody for anything. He doesn’t need the kingdom of God because everything he has, he got completely on his own. He’s never had a kingdom mentality and doesn’t understand what that is. Yes, that makes the average American very difficult to reach for Christ.

When anyone comes to Christ, they come admitting they are completely dependent on Jesus for salvation –that He is God and they are not. This is the very first stage of a kingdom mentality. So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. Romans 9:16

Once God lavishes you with His mercy, you understand that you are valuable, privileged, and part of something much bigger than you. You are a part of something that will never end, and you are in! In the family. In the Kingdom. In His presence. Just in!

Witness to Goodness

2 – A Faithful Witness & Being Set Apart
These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Luke 10:2 NLT
Witness to Goodness
It’s true. God has poured His goodness in the form of miracles and wonders into my life and the ministries I’ve been a part of for over 30 years. The Bible says we will overcome by “the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.” Here is my testimony of just some of the miracles and wonders I have seen. I’m telling you about them so you can overcome doubt and believe in a good God.

Healed of blindness: Born blind, a little boy named Joshua was healed while we were feeding the hungry in his tiny village in India. Good overcomes the evil of darkness.

– Money miracle: The IRS voluntarily sent me a $1,700 check. I had overpaid them several years earlier and they found it on an internal audit. The amount is exactly what I needed to keep the bank from repossessing my house. Good overcomes the evil that threatens our homes.

– Healed of AIDS: In the final stages of full-blown AIDS, my good friend, Mike, attended a healing service. He knew in his heart he was healed and told me so. The doctor later confirmed there was no trace of the virus in his body. Good overcomes the evil of disease.

– Birth defect disappears: On a mission trip to Uganda, we came across a little girl with Down Syndrome. An American RN spent time with the child’s mama to help her understand how to best care for her. We fed, clothed and prayed with them. When we came back the next year, that same little girl was completely healed of a genetic disorder where one chromosome is missing throughout every cell in her body. Even her physical features had changed! Good overcomes the evil of birth defects.

Loaves and fishes: We took 1,000 backpacks full of new toys to Mexico for a children’s Christmas outreach. Over 3,000 children showed up, were fed, taught about Jesus, prayed over and given a backpack as a gift. When it was time to leave, we still had 1,000 backpacks in our truck! Good overcomes the evil of child poverty.

All For Jesus

September 30, 2025 – 09/30/2025
9 – Fruit Bearing (+) Judgment (-)
30 – Acts of Redemption & Accomplishing Priestly Service
What does all this mean? Even though the Gentiles were not trying to follow God’s standards, they were made right with God. And it was by faith that this took place. Romans 9:30 NLT
All for Jesus
Here’s a truth that is unpopular, yet it’s the truth nonetheless: Behind every great person of God is great affliction.

I dare you. Pick your favorite Bible person from any of the 31,175 scriptures and see if you can find one man or woman, no matter how close they were to God, who did not have pain.

Moses didn’t have many friends, and his own wife didn’t like him. David was falsely accused by Saul and lived with the consequences of his adulterous actions by raising a totally dysfunctional family. Elijah dealt with loneliness and isolation. A social outcast, Elisha was bald and people made fun of him for it — just ask the young men who were mauled by a bear for mocking his chrome dome!

Great men and women of God through the ages were not immune to pain. Many come from abusive backgrounds, tremendous poverty, and prejudice. Some struggled with children who couldn’t walk, others with children who refused to walk with God. All faced constant scrutiny and criticism. All were expected to do and be more than they were capable of being.

E.W. Bullinger struggled with paralysis. Spurgeon wrestled with depression and stress. Billy Graham dealt with a debilitating disease for many years near the end of his life. Still, they have preached powerful sermons, seen many mighty miracles, and reached untold millions with the message of healing through Jesus Christ.

Just because you’ve never heard them complain does not mean they don’t have great affliction. It means, by God’s grace, they are greater than their affliction. It’s all part of the program. Can you handle the pain of life and keep going for Jesus?

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. – Psalms 121:1-2

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Grounded in FaithDeclare!Today, God’s grace gives me victory over things in my life that make me unpopular. My godly performance will not be overshadowed by the things that give me pain.I will serve my Lord with excellence and joy in my heart, no matter what pain is in my life.
