Wednesday 3rd October -- Done with THE LAST SECOND -- today and tomorrow I'll go over parts of it again, ---- just to make sure all is cool and ready for your consumption.

Today, my pets, you're going to go all out. It's mid-week, no slumping for you, nope, you're going to climb aboard your bike or put on your running sneakers, or step onto a treadmill -- you're going to MOVE -- here's the deal, you don't move, you might as well hang it up because sooner rather than later, that's what your bod will do. You're thirty? MOVE, make it a daily habit, keep those muscles nice and strong and flexible. You're 60? You MOVE, a daily habit, keep those muscles nice and strong and flexible. You're 80? MOVE -- etc. --

Tuesday, October 2nd -- BIG YEA! for nearly all of us: 4-0 for Week 4, NFL -- did you see that left-handed shovel pass from Mahomes with defenders hanging off his back? A very exciting game. So I'd say 80% of us are 4-0 this week. Next week? Don't hold your breath, I've found the 4-0 weeks are few and far between. Goodness, the Denver stadium is LOUD.
Work today, THE LAST SECOND is really coming along, plan to finish and send off Thursday. BIG HUGE YEA (even bigger than for football)
Get up your Halloween decorations and send me photos. I really like the one with all the skeletons on the porch -- but what if you were tipsy and wandered out there at night -- scare the crap out of you. The tree with the Halloween figures on it, very clever -- Yes, I'll be sending photos as well --
Today, you're going to get our your stretchy band (if you don't have one, expect a minion to toilet-paper your house) This is enough -- GET A STRETCHY BAND -- and stand straight, grasp the band as close together as you comfortably can and slowly go out and in -- really feel it between your shoulder blades. Gut in. Then put middle of band under a foot and slowly pull up and down -- for biceps. More, as many as you want -- Google other exercises. And do not forget, CARDIO -- or forget the Halloween candy --

Friday, 28th September -- First NFL game down -- the Rams beat the Vikings, but what a game. Two very good teams, it was fun to watch.
Today, it's finally going to rain, and all weekend as well I hear. The minions finally heard our pleas.
Work today (what/s new?) The book is coming along, just so much. I guess that's true of nearly every novel, so much to catch, to think about, to study, to access, is that exactly right? So, if you think of me, please pass alone "Think Clearly".
Today after stretching and cardio -- focus on arms -- bat wings, dreadful unacceptable bat wings -- you can do isometric, stretchy band, free weights -- remember SLOWLY.

Work today, nose to the grindstone -- maybe a break and a shot of tan --
Exercise: Questions:
1) Is daily exercise a habit?
2) How many days a week do you cardio?
3) Do you go to a gym?
4) Do you use free weights or a stretchy band
Okay, today, you're going to focus on legs: this means squats up and down the driveway, up and down the stairs three times -- lots and lots -- feel those quads. And don't forget to stretch before you begin --

Lots of you told me what you did yesterday and NOT ONE OF YOU mentioned exercise. What is going on here? After all my bitching, nagging, begging, threatening, EXERCISE should simply be a part of your day. Explain yourself and make it good. Minions are waiting at my elbow for instructions.
Work today, as usual -- all goes well. We have football tonight (can't remember who's playing), so I'll pose my Week 3 picks this afternoon. And guess what? Something totally different, something to make you shake your head -- I'll be wrapping Christmas presents! (Yeah, big surprise)

Thursday 13th September -- Okay, here are my Week 2 NFL picks: (I'll post again on Saturday so everyone knows)
l) Patriots over Jaguars
2)Chiefs over Steelers
3)Panthers over Falcons
4)Giants over Cowboys
Thank you for all your comments on American schools not bringing up 9/11 because of Muslim students -- As the majority of you point out, at the least this is a huge part of our history. Shove it under the rug? Don't teach it? Do they teach Pearl Harbor (or don't we want because of Japanese students?) Or WW2 because of German students? If we keep going, high school history classes wouldn't have much to teach as they couldn't include any war or conflict with any country in the world. Why do you think this is happening? I'm speaking specifically of 9/11 --

Tuesday, 11th September -- Isn't it fascinating? One believes Serena was treated unfairly and another believes she was a poor sport. Question: What she did, coaching deal, breaking racket, arguing with umpire (politely) -- are the male tennis players treated the same? Or differently?
Still working hard on THE LAST SECOND -- all this week, am looking forward to finishing on Friday. All digits crossed, please. I've already negotiated with the writing minions, making deals (like football teams) well into the future to give me inspiration NOW.
Did all of you work out yesterday? Were you glowing? Sweating like pigs? I certainly hope so, well especially for the second. Today, lots of cardio and do slow leg lifts for stretching and your abs. Also, think about giving your other half a really big kiss when he/she gets home and tell him/her how great they are and you love them to the moon and back --

Friday, 7th September -- Well, the Eagles did it -- isn't it strange, game was a repeat of the play-off game that sent the Eagles to the Super Bowl. Chris Collingsworth said the Falcons had spent all off-season working on the red zone and getting the ball in. Okay, that sounds all well and bood, but what happened? Now, my picks are "pinned" so there should be no trouble finding them. Right? All is good in Football land?
Work today -- hey, what's new? Slowly, but coming, coming --
All of you, end the week on a high note -- no, not a high C, but a high pumped up self. Cardio hard, even actually sweat, although I personally hate it, but sometimes, like today, it's the thing to do, so really go for it. It's always better to do hard in "bursts", then slower again, then "burst", okay?

Thursday -- Okay, the NFL rules stay as is: -- Your team is one of the four pick, your other three are from my list. All clear?
Seeing friends last night was great. Only problem, the noise level in the crowded restaurant prevented you from speaking to anyone except the person right at your elbow. Too bad. And they played music so people talked even louder. Tell me, where's the brain in all this?
Tonight is Eagles and Falcons -- who are you for?
Working hard today on THE LAST SECOND -- my mantra now is You're having fun, keep having fun. Okay, it is fun, just hate the tight deadline on this one.
Everyone keeping SBB? Chin not sticking out? No flab on arms? Abs getting nice and tight? All things to work toward. One thing about exercise, you keep it up, you make it a simple part of your daily routine, and you will see results, GUARANTEED. Everyone on board? Oh yes, don't forget, never use a regular plate, only a dessert plate. Is everyone on board with that as well?

It just occurred to me: I pick 4 games and you're supposed to take three of mine and make the fourth your team. If you want to continue with this protocol, that's fine. BUT, would you rather simply use only my four teams? I do try to spread it around. Forget yours? So everyone is competing on the same four teams every week? Let me know --it's up to you.
Today is work, of course, then stuff, so much of it, running around like a fool, then supposed to be on time for dinner with friends in San Francisco. Good luck to me -- dare I show up in my gym clothes? Talk about tight timing --

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
