Tuesday, 27th November -- What is the very coolest Christmas present you got last year? What is the very coolest Christmas present you're giving this year? And to whom? Or are you a multiple gift giver like me? And there's not one huge important gift? Let me back up a minute: HAVE YOU ALL FINISHED YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING? All goodies wrapped, displayed? Are you getting decorated? Inside and out? (okay, outside can wait until the lst) Does your house smell yummy with a Christmas potpourri? Do you think I'm insane for asking you these questions in fricking November?
All right, all of us, no exclusions, no exceptions, all gung ho -- we're going to cardio 40 minutes today -- pick your machine or walk, walk, walk. (Hey, a jog is good too, or a flat-out run with your critter running along beside you, tongue lolling. Take a look at your bis and tris in the mirror -- Need some tightening? You all know the exercises -- even isometrics are fine. Confused about what isometrics are? GOOGLE -- great easy exercises --

Oh yes, a reminder: THE SIXTH DAY is out in the larger format on NOVEMBER 13th -- next Tuesday. If you missed the hardcover but really like to hold an actual book in your hands, do try the Trade Paperback -- the cover is really amazing plus the story ain't bad either.
Lots of you are getting snow, something that's hard for me to imagine, living here in Sausalito, right on San Francisco Bay. We're having another fire up north and the air quality even down here is pretty bad. Send rain, folks, send rain -- or snow, anything wet and will melt.
Don't forget -- focus on Shoulder Blades Back today even while you're doing your cardio --

Wednesday 7th November -- Sounds like you guys are wired: using smaller plates, only one helping, and really, this is the truth: You want to pig out? Once a week and that's it. On Thanksgiving, sure, but on Black Friday -- you really cut back, like lots of cold left-over turkey, but no pumpkin pie or other sinful goodies. Okay? But hand-in- hand, always, is exercise. There's simply no way around it. Smaller portions and daily exercise are married and you have to respect that. Divorce, and things won't be good.
So, pick your exercise emphasis for today and do it -- arms, abs, quads -- whatever -- and always follow through, do not put off working out -- it's not worth it, and know, your body thanks you --

Tuesday, 6th November -- Okay, no more DST!!! Everyone wants it gone -- It's on the California Ballot -- I hope it passes. The cats hate it, that's for sure.
The Cowboys got beat last night by the Tennessee Titans. Here's the thing (the way I see it) I've been saying for 2-3 years Jason Garrett (the head coach) needs to be fired -- Do you know Zeke Elliott, their HUGE big running back got only 6 carries the entire second half? What is going on here? I'm beginning to think Garrett has something on Jerry Jones (The Owner) otherwise, why isn't he out of there? Like last season? Oh well, no more football rants.

The tendency when you go out of town to visit relatives or on vacation or simply eat out one evening -- you think it's all going to be a non-calorie experience. WRONG. If you love sweets, say, or you love carbs -- fine, eat what you want ONCE A WEEK -- never, never, simply let things go. Get on the scale every single morning. If you're at the weight you want, then you set a limit -- say whenever you're up three pounds, it's a cut-back day until you get it off. Do not make excuses -- it's simply not worth it. If you do, when you finally get yourself back to where you're at physically, you'll be appalled and depressed and chances are, you'll just keep eating too much. Okay, sorry, I did another rant. But think about it, okay?

Friday, 2nd November -- All you pumpkin carving winners, I'm so smart I forgot to give you my email: ReadMoi@gmail.com -- send me your home address and the title of the book you would like. And thank you for all the great entries -- what fun.
Now it's on to Thanksgiving -- almost too much to imagine. I have all the Halloween decorations down/stored and the Thanksgivings decorations are spread all over the floor upstairs. That's for this afternoon. I'll send a video -- but Thanksgiving isn't as impressive as Halloween, and of course nothing is as impressive as Christmas.
Finally coming toward the end of the copy-edited THE LAST SECOND -- so many little things to take care of, but it's coming. Then back to Labyrinth -- I'll have to re-read it before I begin writing again. My memory only lasts about two days.
Today is the Big Bang -- no, not Sheldon -- YOU -- you're going to light up the world, everyone will look to you and admire your magnificent self, admire your commitment to having the fittest body you can have, and finally, the world will cheer when you announce your new gym membership for Christmas, or your free weights or your new stationary bike. Everyone on board with the world cheering? Question: don't you always feel better after you've done cardio, weights, stretching, walking? More virtuous, more energetic? These can be yours, if you will promise your body you're going to commit.

Tuesday, 30th October -- one more day to get me pumpkins.
Congratulations to the Red Sox.
Congratulations to Klay Thompson who came out of his complete and utter first 7-games slump to break the NBA record for 3-points in a game -- 14 -- (beat Steph Curry by 1). He scored 52 points. All the team were feeding him shots -- amazing --
NFL Week 8: I was 3-1 -- the Vikings let me down, but oh boy, is Drew Brees fun to watch -- so to date I'm 22-10 -- not bad, not bad. How about you guys?

Today, mes amis, it's on the floor with you, legs straight against the wall, butt as close to the wall as you can get, and RELAX -- let your muscles flow into the floor, meditate a few minutes on what a wonderful day it is and how life is such an excellent thing --- then beginning with your toes, wiggle them, work them in circles, then go slowly up your body and move every single muscle can spot. -- Make it a soothing 5 minutes -- yep, then you can CARDIO -- SBB --

Friday, 26th October -- Home last night, not at all late. Gotta say, everything went so smoothly (airplanes in time, hotel perfect, photo shoot smooth as glass, LA traffic no worse than it always is) -- I got a bit scared. When is the shoe going to drop? But all was good. And you know what? After all this time I've finally learned exactly what to take in terms of clothes -- this year, a lot of Johnny Was tops (if you're not familiar with him, go to web site -- very distinctive, "peasanty" and lots of monochromatic tops/jackets with a black cami. All good plus the big reward: A MEXICAN LUNCH -- TACOS! -- Yes, for sure Jetty had to redo the lipstick. Everyone is so very competent and nice. I'll be posting some behind-the camera-photos so you can get an idea of what goes on.
Don't forget: CARVE YOUR PUMPKIN this weekend and post it -- Why, you ask? THE GREAT PRIZE -- one of my books, no, I'm not lying, what a treat, you're going to hyperventilate if you win such an amazing thing!!!! And you're going, yeah, yeah, blah, blah --

Tuesday, 23rd October -- Warriors won last night, the Giants did what they've been doing regularly this season and that's lose.
As you know, I'm off tomorrow for L.A. for my every three year photo shoot -- Who knows the designer Johnny Was? Anyway, I'll be wearing some of him, very colorful, sort of peasanty, and of course tailored stuff as well. It should be fun. My photographer, bless his super talented heart, is coming out of retirement for the shoot. Tells you how long we've been together. Same face/hair person -- Jetty's her name, and she's absolutely amazing. Charles assures me he has the vacuum all powered up and the power washer on stand-by. I'll check in if there's working wifi, which there should be.
Today, you need to concentrate on SHOULDER BLADES BACK and chin tucked in, not sticking out. This elongates the back of your neck --and is good. Just ask any passing minion. Feel yourself this morning: that is, do not feel yourself up, but feel how your parts are feeling. Stiffness? Then stretch, work it out. Otherwise, do your cardio and concentrate on upper body today -- lots of tris and bis --

Keep it up -- Remember, if something, anything you need to do every single day (well, except Saturday) isn't a habit, it will fall by the wayside. Exercise, movement, keeping your bod flexible and strong isn't optional -- it's an absolute must. So decide what you will do today, AND DO IT.

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
