Wednesday, 16th June -- Okay, the blasted link doesn't work for the Sweepstakes -- I'll get on it this morning. By tomorrow, whatever wrong will be fixed, so don't worry --
The June Newsletter -- you should be getting it maybe today, but tomorrow for sure -- let me know if you run into any problems.
It's HOT today -- 78 degrees is the high and it's going to be lovely walking by the Bay -- it will be nice to walk there without wearing a vest and a jacket, her head down against the wind. Hey, maybe a sleeveless shirt, wow.
Starting to get ready to leave on Saturday -- the first time on a plane for two years -- so all digits and toes crossed (If possible).
Who else is going on vacation this month?

Tuesday, 15th June -- beginning to get things together for the OBX -- I've wrapped birthday presents, cotton those plastic containers (clear, small) to put stuff in and then label them. Clothes are all set.
Walking today -- at a huge outdoor mall called Town Center -- it's a good mile if you go all around it -- and of course the benefit is you can stroll into any store you wish.
So walk with me, maybe not the mall, but a lovely park by a lake and watch the kids throwing a football.

Monday, 14th June -- Again, thank you for all your loving thoughts about Peyton. And again, I can't read very many of your comments without crying, so I don't know if I'll ever get through them until next year. But again, thank you, I really appreciate all your lovely words and kindness.
As many of you know, we're going to the yearly Outer Banks in Duck, North Carolina for family vacation -- there will be more than 40 of us and yes, everyone coming is vaccinated, so no worries there, but shopping masks of course.. It's been two years -- this will be our first time flying in more than two years, amazing. How about you? Are you planning to go anywhere in June?

Friday, 11th June --
Friday yet again, amazing -- one more week and we're off to the OBX -- amazing how we haven't seen these relatives in 2 years -- I'm just hoping it won't be to amazingly hot -- I'm not a "heat" person. How about you? Sausalito is perfect for moi the reptile, like today, in the 60s, perfect.
How are vaccinations going in your area now?
Yes, yes, of course everyone will walk today, swinging arms, maybe singing America the Beautiful, always a fine song.

Wednesday, 9th June -- Have I got a wonderful surprise for you. Many of you have visited Sausalito and walked around many houseboat neighborhoods. I'm sure you've wondered how and when and where all these houseboats came from, and about the people who built them and lived in them and continue to live in them.
Here for you now, finally, is a one-of-a-kind historical view with 180 images by photographer, Catherine Lyons Labate, (who's spent her entire adult life living on a houseboat). You'll read the stories of people from all walks of life, who came together to create these amazing communities that continue to blossom today..
This is a big coffee table book that will give you endless pleasure, and yes, I've ordered my copy plus two for Christmas presents. Talk about a great gift to your friends who've visited Sausalito and those who want to.
All you have to do is click on www.onceuponawaterfront.com.
Do let me know what you think of this extraordinary book.
The only thing -- you really can't read it while you're out walking, sorry.

June 6, 2021

Sunday, 6th June -- I have lots of birthday presents to wrap for the 12 birthdays we celebrate at the OBX -- but you know, lots and lots of small, jewelry and such so why not wrap each little goodie in tissue paper and put them all in a birthday bag? Aren't I smart? And I gotta say, it's about time I thought of it, so maybe smart minus.
Gorgeous today -- NEED RAIN -- in the 70s, a shock to the system, but not wearing a vest and warm jacket will be different. Maybe nice too. We'll see, but I do hate to sweat. How about you?
I hope you are all doing something special today, like playing Frisbee in the park with your critters and kids, maybe a picnic, oh yeah! And checking out things you've not seen in a long time.
The world's getting back to normal, at least our part of it, so if you've had the vaccine, you're ready to rock 'n roll and be safe. Isn't that wonderful? Vaccinated, you're not going to get COVID, at least you're 95% protected and I'll take it. Those of you who are unable to be vaccinated, it's gotta be tough, and I'm very sorry, but please be careful and smart. There, I did it again, a small, not-too-bad rant -- so wherever you go today, do a little hop and a little skip and suck in the warm summer air -- you're well and you're going to stay that way.

June 2, 2021

Wednesday, 2nd June -- Today was pizza day and maybe I've already told you this, but I personally make the GREATEST pizza in the land. Here you are: For those non-carnivores in the house, it's sauce, tons of Mozzarella, black olives and onions. For the carnivores, I slice up the salami from a stick, then fry it so it's really crisp, then put it on top of the chopped up olives and chopped up small onions. The trick is to really pre-heat the dough -- you spread it all out on the pans, make sure there are holes here and then and you know it's ready to to get dressed when the holes are brown (THIS MEANS EXTRA CRISPY CRUST). I cut the almost pre-cooked dough into pieces so they're already individually ready to serve, then into the oven 15 minutes, then under the broiler so everything gets dark and crispy -- This is without a single doubt amazing and awesome. Now, if you don't like really really crispy pizza and well cooked and browned on top, (for me REALLY brown) then you may leave my house before lunch.
Oh ho, it's off for a lovely walk I go -- the high is 60 today, one hundred twenty miles north. Isn't that something? Our micro-climates are mind-blowing. So come with me, in spirit, and say hi to me while you're walking yourself.

May 24, 2021

Monday, 24th May -- Hello, world. The beginning of a marvelous new week that everyone is going to enjoy. I would ask you be on the lookout for things to do, not large uber things, what you do doesn't have to rock the world, just small things. If you see something that needs doing that would be helpful to your family, your friends, or someone you've never seen before, take the plunge. You'll see a beautiful face smiling back at you for your kindness. And you know, kindness doesn't cost anything, it's just a matter of being aware of others and what's happening.
Well, that's enough of a Monday morning sermon.
Everyone, get your sneakers on, head to the gym, or out for a nice lovely LONG walk -- no excuses. You always do what you can.

May 19, 2021

Wednesday, 19th May -- Okay, okay, the May newsletter is going out manana -- I promise. Which means you should get it maybe on Friday.
Gorgeous here today, on the cool side, which means a jacket walking down by the Bay -- any cool shots, trust me, I'll snap them. What are you up to on this incredible Spring day? Is life getting back to normal where you live? When you're outside for a walk, a hike, a dance or a jig, isn't it great not to have to wear a mask? YEA, I say, YEA --
VORTEX -- there's an announcement from Barnes & Noble -- buy VORTEX -- I have a question in for them -- Evidently they will have three different books: l) the regular one like you'd buy anywhere, 2) one I've signed and 3) one that has an essay written by me about the genesis of the FBI series -- when I find out which one this is touting, I'll let you know. Also, I hope they'll give me an explanation of their exact plans.
Don't forget to stretch, get those SBB, and when outside, do a little marching, that is, bring the knees up a little higher --

May 16, 2021

Sunday, 16th May -- sorry, it sure doesn't seem like May, it seems like February -- gray, overcast, cold -- don't want to get out of bed and believe me, neither do the cats. Go for a walk? No way, Mom. they do love it when it's sunny -- they sit on the chaise lounge and stretch and purr and graciously accept treats from my hand -- but not today. You know what? Me neither. Just a nice pleasant walk down by the Bay with hoodie up.
What about you guys? Basketball today? Warriors are playing the Grizzlies at noon -- imp. game, will determine the standings in the play-offs -- should be exciting, we'll see.
So do something fun today, all right? And don't forget SBB and deep cleansing breaths, suck in through your nose, let out slowly through your mouth.
