Wednesday, 28th July -- Several of you said the Olympic Committee were penalizing Simone Biles for her awesome routines, citing it was dangerous for younger gymnasts and they might get hurt trying what she does. Now, no one has said a word about this on TV-- please email me at ReadMoi@gmail.com -- tell me where you read this, please. If it's true, it's horrifying --
Glad you liked the bent cypress tree -- of course the Sutro mansion and extensive gardens and grounds are long gone, but the Arturo Sutro's Parapet remains and there's a lovely walkway up to it. Spectacular views. I'll be posting more photos -- it really is amazing, which means you guys have to come out for a visit -- However, you want to stay in Sausalito, not the city. Things are pretty bad, what with all the crime and the homeless camping wherever they like and gov. doing nothing at all. There are people paid a couple hundred thousand a year to go around the neighborhoods -- they're called "pooper scoopers" -- so stay in Sausalito.
Where to walk today? Hmm, we'll see. But you'll be with me in spirit -- I do love your photos, so post!

July 27, 2021

Tuesday, 27th July -- Who knows what's going on with Simone Biles -- she dropped out of the finals due to "mental" issues. Is there something else going on? Who's in the know?
Hey, yours truly walked 2.3 miles yesterday -- felt really good. I know, I know, you walk 4 miles a day before breakfast and you're at the top of the totem pole. Yep, you are. Two miles is just fine for me. What is your average? Do you keep track with an app on your phone?
Work today and Olympics this evening -- I'd forgotten how great it is to watch these incredible athletes. Which sport do you think requires the most athleticism? Eliminate the Triathlon since they're the unquestioned best.

Monday, 26th July -- Who's been watching the Olympics? I'd forgotten how really amazing the athletes are, their performances were wonderful to watch. The woman fencer, Lee Kiefer (?) won gold. It's such a thrill to see the American medal members standing on the podium with the American flat and the national anthem playing, and they're so happy. I can't believe Simone Biles is 24 -- Are you guys enjoying the Olympics as well?
Nose back to the grindstone -- gotta find out where that gem came from -- Griffin Hammersmith wants to be in every scene, so I'm going to try to make it happen. Have to go back through the pages I've already written. It's fun to do, really.
Walking today at Cavallo Point -- backwards from the usual loop -- How about you? Where are you walking/hiking?

Friday, 23rd July -- can't believe it's Friday again. I rarely have insomnia, but last night was a doozy, away from 1:00 to about 4:00, which is why I'm late posting. When this happens, I read. When you have insomnia, what do you do?
I'll be posting a series of photos I took yesterday at Land's End in San Francisco. Point Lobos -- San Francisco looks like a thumb. On the Pacific Ocean side, the far left of the thumb, at the top, is Land's End. Remember Cliff House? And you have the HUGE beach along the Great Highway. There are trails everywhere --
Haven't decided where to walk today, maybe the trail to the old rifle range. What about you guys?

Wednesday, 21st July -- Congratulations to the Bucks -- just saw the interview with Giannis -- he's only 26, scored 50 points. He's charming, unassuming, and last night, supremely happy. He's also MVP. What really pleases me if that the Bucks didn't have the Super Team like the Nets -- no, only one top star with excellent players around him like Middleton and Portis and Holiday.
Glad you like the photo of Sausalito's Banana Belt -- it might look congested but it's levels, slicing back and forth on a the very tall hill. It looks like Positano, Italy, which is gorgeous. The big difference is that in Positano there are nets covering the hillside because of all the lemon groves. Who knows why?
Yesterday we walked the Bob Maddagh trail on a hill facing the city, up and down, sunshine, shade -- very pretty, about a mile. Its halfway point is in Mill Valley where we stopped. Continue on and you get to Corte Madera. Where to walk today? Hmm, we'll have to think about that. How about you? Do you know where you'll be walking/hiking today? You're with me in spirit, as always, okay?

July 19, 2021

Monday, 19th July -- I'm glad those of you who got the newsletter liked it. Right now, the water in S.F. Bay is probably in the high 50's, around there, and even colder in Jan. and Feb., around 53 degrees. Remember, when you come out and you want to walk S.F. bridge, WEAR LAYERS -- winter coats would work too. One of you mentioned the souvenir shops selling hoodies are making a mint -- too true. What I don't understand is why people don't find out what the weather is going to be like where they're going -- even though most of you are roasting, if I were coming, I'd still check. So take it to heart.
Today a hike along the top of Ring Mountain, views both directions -- San Francisco to the south, and on the north side, Alcatraz and Tam Mountain. You never get tired of walking this trail except some stretches are almost straight up, which makes you wonder if you wouldn't rather have some ice cream and a nap.
Work today, like all the rest of you, well almost all, those of you who are retired, I expect extra great things from you today. Be sure to keep me posted.

July 16, 2021

Friday, 16th July -- Yet another Friday -- I hope we never run out of Fridays, that would really be a disconcerting thing if Fridays were canceled, for whatever reason.
Today lots of stuff to do, you know, those things that just pile up and have to be attended to -- whenever. Well, today's the day. I'm beefing up the chase scene, making it more of a nail-biter. What's fun this is!
Everyone, it's outside for you, except for those of you in Phoenix -- what, 106 degrees? So hop on your stationary bike (in ac, of course) and go for it, at least 40 minutes so you'll get off feeling virtuous and your body will adore you.

July 15, 2021

Thursday, 15th July -- I'm writing the July newsletter today, hopefully you'll have it Saturday. Thank you for all your excellent comments about my pictures of Tennessee Point Trail at Rodeo Beach. I'll put up the actual point today --
NBA finals tied 2-2 -- The Bucks pulled it out last night. We'll see what happens when they play on Saturday. Who are you rooting for? Or do you care? I know personally it's tough to care when the Warriors aren't in the finals. Out here you simply get used to their being on top. Sigh. As you know, Klay Thompson has both a torn achilles AND ACL -- no one has ever come back from these two injuries together before. But new procedures, new treatments -- we'll see. I would hate to see Klay have to hang up his sneakers. And if he does come back, is he more liable to further injury? Probably.
Today I'm editing the chase scene I wrote yesterday, make it more of a nail-biter and get you closer to the edge of your seat. Digits crossed.
Today a lovely walk to Ring Mountain -- I'll post photos manana. Everyone, you can yell hello to me from your walk into the wilds, okay?

July 14, 2021

Wednesday, 15th July -- Today is pizza day! As I've told you, my pizza is the best in the known universe (perhaps unknown as well).
Glad you're enjoying the photos of the Tennessee Point Trail above the ocean at Rodeo Beach. Many of you have been here already and walked the walk to the point, but if you haven't put it on your bucket list.
It's only going to be a high of 60 today -- brrr -- so walking/hiking means about four layers. It's been a cold summer here, most often the high in the 60's. Now, you can keep your 90 degrees, but maybe sneaking into the seventies might be nice for a change, and yes, yesterday we had the heater on. You go maybe seven miles north and you'll hit the 90's -- what with the amazing microclimates. We are surrounded by summer temps.
Again, given where I live, I bless Ms. Hoodie for her invention --
Tonight is game 4 between the Bucks and the Suns. Do you think the Bucks will take Game 4 since they're in Minneapolis? What do you think of the fans counting to ten when Giannis shoots free throws? You can bet every single team in the upcoming season will do that to him -- Maybe he should one thousand free throws every day before he gets breakfast.
To my office to work!

July 13, 2021

Tuesday, 13th July -- So many of you commented on the gorgeous ocean view from the cliffs above at Rodeo Beach. I think you should come for a visit, stay in Sausalito, three lovely hotels and then you can do anywhere, up to the vineyards, over to the ocean, visit San Francisco, drive down to Monterey and the aquarium and of course ten minutes more and you're in gorgeous Carmel.
Walked Octopus trail for a good just under two miles -- I didn't have my iPad with me so no photo, sorry, but when we walk it again, I'll be sure to take some of the forest trail.
On the floor (or bed), and pull in your stomach muscles and HOLD, and lift right legs as high as you can twelve times, then left leg. Be sure to hold those muscles tight -- do as many as you can and let me know --
